My son plays football for Bowdoin College and we wanted a place to stay for the entire fall season…happy to say we found it at The Daniel. We truly felt like we were coming home to family every Saturday as my husband and I and our 3 year old Lab checked in. The friendly staff was so welcoming, remembering us... More

I stopped here for the night on my way up the Maine coast. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist and felt very much at home. The hotel is simply, but elegantly decorated, and our budget room was beautifully presented with features above it's price point. The bed was comfortable, the breakfast buffet was decent, and staff were very... More

Had stayed here a few years ago and I must say it was decent then and only improved over the years. The continental breakfast was well put together, the coffee was excellently brewed and seems like it must have passed a taste test, juice was fresh and the muffins and granola great too. Room improvements included extra plugs at each... More

It's a beautiful setting inside and out. Extremely kind people and staff. Room and bed very comfortable and extremely clean. Enjoyed our stay and rest. My only drawback was the hotel kind of shut down at dark. There is a nice bar. We did not eat there. We like to enjoy our evenings and you have to leave the grounds... More

Every employee we encountered was friendly and over-the-top ready to help us with anything and everything. Rose wouldn't just tell my husband where the ice machine was; she escorted him to it and later refused any tip. Blake and Chelsea worked the wedding we attended. They became like friends. Blake withstood some good-natured teasing and even agreed to dance with... More

The Daniel is a great place to stay and its not one of the big guys. The rooms are very nice and staff is great. We found this small hotel a couple of years ago and its still fantastic. The food was also very good and were not one for eating at hotels.

This place was really great. I would highly recommend staying here. The rooms were really nice. There were some really nice touches like fluffy bathroom rugs to keep your feet warm. They replaced all toiletries each night which was really a nice touch. Downtown is a quick walk. You can easily walk to restaurants and shops. The bar downstairs has... More

This was not my first choice for a hotel in this town ...due to the fact is is situated close to heavy traffic. But as another option was full, we went here...and I am so glad we did. Were warmly greated by friendly woman and she gave a good price for the stay ( matched the internet price) Had a... More

I've stayed at the Captain Daniel Stone Inn several times over the last 20 years. I dont know why they shortened the classic name...hope they switch it back! It's a beautiful hotel, convenient to everything near downtown Brunswick: nice shops, restaurants, farmer's market, Bowdoin College, and the 2.5mi bike/walking trail along the Androscoggin River. They have a fabulous restaurant, a... More
