The nicely refurbished Captain Daniel Stone Inn, now simply The Daniel, remains a charming place to stay in Brunswick, Maine. Its staff are engaging, friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The menu is well executed and served carefully. The bar has a wide selection of bottles and the bartenders can mix most anything and do so with a smile. The rooms... More

This was a great find. This hotel was recently refurbished and is a beautiful property. The room was very spacious and comfortable. Great amenities typical of high end properties at a reasonable room rate. Good service from the front desk and dinner at the restaurant was fresh and well prepared. The breakfast buffet had lots of healthy and tasty options.

We stayed here while we were dropping off our daughter at Bowdoin. We arrived around 8:30 and hoped to get a meal at the in-house restaurant, but it had already closed because things were "slow." But the front desk reception directed us to the Sea Dog Brewery a 5 minute drive away which was perfect. We had adjoining rooms on... More

A beautiful inn. January 2016 there is review by a couple from Georgia who told of fire alarm going off unexpectedly. I had the exact same thing happen. The beeps with the fire fire fire being repeated. Called the front desk wondering if I really had to leave. They had no record on their central alarming system of an alarm... More

The room and hotel were clean, beautiful, and comfortable. It was at a perfect location that is walking distance from the nearby shops and restaurants down the street. I would definitely go back, but I wish they told us ahead of time that their sauna was not working, because that was a major influencing factor.

Changed travel plans in a split second, and booked here on the road through booking.com. Had no idea what to expect. What a pleasant surprise. Great facility, close to town, large comfy rooms, well appointed, friendly and helpful staff (restaurant on site although we had reservations elsewhere) ...a very, very pleasant experience.

We waited 45 minutes to be asked what we wanted for dinner. The wife are. I sat. Told after 45 minutes they were out of chicken. Didn't ask me if I wanted something else. I am not going there to eat. The nearby Main Street will feed me. The Daniel menus don't change. A New York strip is offered but... More

Location - close to restaurants. Check in was friendly. We paid by air miles, and were put in a room above the restaurant. We asked to move to a room away from the restaurant, we were told the hotel was virtually empty and it should be quiet, however, they agreed to move us without any hassle. Room was nice in the... Situated steps away from rivers, woods and beaches, an ideal location for trips to Portland and national parks, eat lobsters and cycle around. Grand entrance, was greeted with a free voucher for the restaurant, the receptionist was very knowledgeable about places to go to and to see, the hotel is very well decorated and has a soul. Free coffee and... More

Walking into the grand Foyer of the Daniel you realize this is gonna be good! The place is immaculate, tastefully decorated yet not stuffy. The staff is polite (as is everyone in Brunswick!) and welcoming. From Hugo welcoming you at the front desk, to the lovely woman who replenished the breakfast...I wish I got her name! We stayed in the... More
