My stay at the Brunswick Inn was wonderful! The Inn is elegant, decorated with an exquisite taste, and the place is very peaceful, in spite of the fact that all room were occupied (I was lucky to get the last room available that weekend!). Excellent customer service, great breakfast, set right in the middle of the town. What a gem! When I posted some photos for my friends back in Europe, they asked in which movie I was living. Thank you so much for a great experience! Looking forward to come back and stay at this beautiful inn.
The Brunswick Inn is just your classic New England inn: quaint and quirky spaces as well as an open and comfortable living area for guests and a cool, pub-like dining room. I shared room 8 with my daughter which is actually two bedrooms with a shared bath. It's a small suite and perfect for families visiting colleges, as we were. But what really made the Inn stand out was the incredible warmth of the staff. We mainly interacted with the person who ran the inn and served breakfast in the mornings. She was uniformly cheerful and got the room served and looked after. But in addition to this she was very interested in our plans and made lots of helpful suggestions about what we should do in our off time from the college slog. I asked about how to find the admissions office at Bowdoin -- she went and got me a Bowdoin map. I mentioned casually we were going in to Portland. Again, a Portland map with specific suggestions about where to go. In this and several other cases staff just did above and beyond what would have been the expected and satisfactory level of service. On one of the nights there I went down to get a beer (the Inn has a nicely stocked bar). The guy working that evening was, again, super friendly, helpful and informative. The Inn and the staff at the Inn helped make a very functional trip -- Bates, Bowdoin, Colby -- into a mini-vacation for my daughter and me,…
We spent three nights in the red room. It was very comfortable ( no television in room), but no curtains to darken the room. Very friendly service, great cooked to order breakfast and comfortable common rooms downstairs complete with rocking chairs on the surrounding porch overlooking the Green.
If you like charming (but nicely updated) inns converted from old, stately, historic homes, then this is the place to stay in Brunswick. Plus, the staff including the proprietor, Eileen, are all friendly, accommodating and truly interested in making your stay pleasant. Top it off with a scrumptious full breakfast every morning, and what more could you ask for?
The Brunswick Inn gets an A+ for their exceptional staff. Jay, Wendy, and Eileen all went out of their way to make us feel welcome and right at home. Wendy gets a special shout out for being helpful long before we ever arrived. We were coming into town for our son's wedding, so I made sure to book our rooms far in advance. Wendy not only recommended a B&B for us to stay in after the wedding when we planned to go up the coast, but she even recommended a nail salon for the bride, the bride's mom, and me to get our nails done when every place seemed to be booked. All three hosts seemed to take a genuine interest in all of their guests. We stayed in two different rooms before and after the wedding and both were beautiful and comfortable. All of their rooms have air conditioning which was a godsend since we were there during a severe heat wave (unusual for Maine, even in July). They were a bit noisy as most window units are, but we were happy to have it. Breakfasts were delicious and made to order. They are located right downtown, so we were able to walk to most restaurants, shops, and to the nail salon. Now that we have in-laws in town, we will definitely plan to stay here again the next time we are up for a visit.…
