Detailed Reviews
Edapally in Cochin is a commercial place. The Lulu Mall is its prime point of attracrion.
We had booked Palm Grove Service Villa for a night, as it was near to Lulu Mall
Our hotel room was newly furnished, spacious, and spic n span
This hotel is a family property converted into a stay.
The greenery and foilage is retained .
Saings adorn the garden. Rabbits are housed inside. A Badminton court and other indoor games add to the charm.
The constant chirping of the birds in the evenings and mornings makes you wonder if this is really a commerce centre.
We were totally de-stressed thanks to being in the midst of nature

+1
I had an absolutely amazing time at Hotel Palm grove service villa at Edappally Cochin. It was really a home like atmosphere with full of trees and greenary arround and enchanting ambience with birds chirping sounds in the early morning in a clam and quiet environment.A badminton court and children park with different varieties of birds gives an additional charmness to the stay.
Rooms and bathroom are clean and spotless.
Staffs were attentive.
I would like to stay again at Palm grove service villa if I visit Cochin again.

I regularly stay here. Parking is there and the hotel is located in the middle of the Town. Lots of trees and birds are there in this compound and it is well maintained by the staff there. Hotels for food are there near this hotel.

Nature at its best!
Beautiful property inside the city but also from the hustle & bustle of Kochi city. The rooms are simple and tastefully made at affordable price. Clean, big rooms AC or Non AC for comfortable stay for two people. The highlight is the nice garden they have with some exotic birds, rabbits and it's sure be a stress buster for some. Children and ladies will love the ambience. Ample car parking available. The owner Francis is a nice man and so is his staff. There are eateries around but not inside the property. Highly recommended for short or long stay.

We booked a room here based on reviews from TripAdvisor and it almost lived unto it. We had a very short stay on transit, just for a night and left the next day morning. Not to take away the due credit, it is really a beautiful place located in a busy city. The ambiance itself makes you feel relaxed, with the beautiful garden and lovely birds chirping. Very well maintained place, with neat and clean rooms. But, the rooms and the bathroom were very small and congested. There was no space for an extra-person bed, neither a wardrobe to keep things and our luggage. The host told us that there are very few bigger rooms and they were all occupied. I was disappointed because, we had booked the room very well in advance and felt that we deserved a better deal. There is no restaurant attached and you will have to go out some distance for good food. Also, the cup of tea that we got in the morning was not good either. They don't have many people for room-service.
Overall, nice ambiance and well-maintained property but needs add-on facilities like restaurants, wi-fi and bigger rooms to keep them trending at the top level ratings.

Dear guest, Thank you very much for your lovely review. We do appreciate hearing from our guests, as their reviews are vital for us to know how far we could satisfy our guests and also how we can improve our service in future. We have noted few shortfalls pointed by you. Please note that ours is a budget accommodation and our main aim is to provide clean and neat rooms with good ambience at affordable rates. We have Nescafe coffee vending machine and so far nobody has complained about its taste. Most of our bookings are made well in advance. Unless a guest makes a specific request at the the time of booking, we allot the rooms on first come first basis. I am really happy to know that you liked the ambience at Palm Grove. My team and I look forward to your continued visits and take this opportunity to assure you of our best attention and service at all times. Warm regards, Francis

We spent 1 night here and had a comfortable stay. It is very near to Lullu mall and is in city center. They have a lot of birds and I awoke in the morning with the birds chants. It was a great experience to start the day..
Only negative is that they don't have kitchen of their own. One need to call a near by restaurant and it delivered the food.
A good stay 4 a budget traveller..

With the first and last 4 days of our 15 days long Kerala trip at luxury hotels at Cochin and Kovalam, we decided to stay at the Palm Grove Service villa for a week, just to be able to meet friends and family, and be able to shop etc.
First things first, the price vs quality ratio is really in favor of quality.
We had two options of ac rooms at 1500 per night and non ac rooms at 900-1000 rupees per night. We obviously opted for the ac room, as the humidity and the mosquitoes in Cochin could be a killer.
Neat room with attached shower (with hot water). A dresser mirror and table. One double bed (mattress was sub par, gave us both backaches every morning)
The doors and windows have a netted frame to prevent mosquitoes entering which we found very effective and a big relief.
Bed covers n sheets were of average quality. Blankets looked used n worn.
There's a tiny led tv in the room with some viewing options for every age group.
The place is nicely maintained. There has been some attempt at landscaping the surrounding grounds, but its mostly filled up with a variety of trees and plants.
Wifi connects well but there's almost never any internet on it. and the guys who run the place go to sleep by 11pm and it feels bad to go over and knock on their doors to wake them up for something silly as restarting their router!
There is no way to call the reception attendant. We had to call the guys mobile number or go over and knock on his door.
There is a nice badminton court with paver blocks. They have 4 rackets and feathered shuttle cocks for guests to use as well.
As this is a budget place, be prepared to get a lot of noises from wailing infants to wedding party groups who take adjoining rooms and never sleep and make a lot of noise through the night. I once had to wake up at 230 am and to tell one such family to keep it low as we hadn't had any sleep the past couple days. To which the lady replied "we aren't making any noises, and even we haven't slept all day" i was a bit taken aback when I got no reaction on mentioning this incident to Denny the resident manager !
The staff are nice and helpful, but one can hardly call them professional. There was this one particular bald chap, who helped move luggage and wash the car in the mornings.. Every now and then he would take a walk to the back side of the property, and urinate in the open simply lifting his lungi (a sarong-like garment wrapped around the waist and extending to the ankles worn by men in kerala). He would walk by while we played badminton every day, and his trip would end with taking a leak and then walking back all the way to the front office, where the staff could be seen reading newspapers or chitchatting.
No food of any kind is prepared or served for guests. They do however help to bring in takeaway food that you order from nearby restaurants, which is a nice thing.
We bought out drinks and they would keep it in their refrigerator to cool off.
The best part of living here is that we could go to Lulu Mall, which is really big and has a lot of quality stores to shop and eat at. They also have a PVR cinema multiplex at Lulu, which really offer the best seats in Cochin to watch movies in.
There is also a liquor store (BEVCO..by Kerala govt) by the service road about 5 minutes walk from the property, which is great in case you would like to buy yourself some beer etc.
Plenty of restaurants close by as well.. The location is great and is quite central to pretty much where ever you wish to travel to within or around kochi.
We booked from booking.com and got a message that 1000 rupees would be charged to the card at the time of booking. It was also mentioned in the booking confirmation document. I never paid any more attention to the same. When we checked in, the owner mentioned that they haven't charged that amount at the time of booking, and asked me to check back with my bank. I believe the man was telling the truth, so I never cross checked. But it did create some confusion and anxiety in my mind while checking in.
There is ample parking space for about 6-8 cars up front, and the property gates are closed for the night. There isn't any security guard present. But considering this being the heart of Kochi, I am sure there wouldn't be any trouble of that sort.
This service villa is minimal yet doesn't keep you wanting for anything. For the budget traveler, you have enough and more on offer from this place. I will easily visit again, and also recommend this place to anyone who wishes a nice clean safe place to stay which is great value for the money you pay.

Dear guest, Greetings from Palm Grove service villa. Many thanks for taking time to write a review on your stay at our villa. It is a pleasure to know that you found our villa to be a nice, clean & safe place to stay. Sorry for the inconvenience you faced because of the interruption in internet broadband service. It is the feedback from our valued guests that help us to correct our shortfalls. Thanks a lot for bringing to our notice the serious mistake on the part of one of our staff member (bald chap ).We have taken necessary steps to educate him as well as other staff members about the good manners to be followed in public. We were stopping over via kochi overnight and lulu mall was the only iterniary,so we needed a place near the mall. We got this place through the various reviews previously published.
To start, its close to the mall,if we have the time you can just walk over takes 15 to 20 minutes an since its close to the main road ,transport options are plenty.
The place is quite a surprise ,a total green house nestled among the concrete surroundings, its a old bungalow or villa restyled, kudos to the management for preserving it.Quite a wide area filled with trees ,lush lawns birds and animals .Chirpy birds are quite a music from the blaring horns outside. The badminton court is a plus.
Rooms are fine ,not of the star variety, slightly old ,you can comfortably pass off , if you just looking into pass off your weary backs for the night. The rooms are neat an clean an protected from kochi mosquitos!.Maybe the towels need a change over.
There is no inhouse restaurant and nearby there is no good eating options.
The staff were very good specially thecaretaker,i forgot his name(maybe deny) ,quite active ,helpful an resourceful except for the grumpy office man.
Overall fair place for a small stopover an reasonably priced if you do not have any expectation of a 3 star or resort, plus if you do not like to go through the messy traffic travails of kochi an stay somewhere close to the mall.
