Had one of the best trips ever to this resort. The weather was fabulous. Our service was excellent. Big shout out to our butlers Enrique and Eduardo. They made sure our stay was perfect. Food was excellent. Rafael, Arturo, Jullian, Chepina, were so fun to have as our wait staff. And of course we can’t forget our bartenders Salome, Diego, Karen, and Paulina. If you haven’t been to this resort, it is a must. You will not regret it. Until next year.

We have been visiting Maroma for ten years, so we're always so happy to see our amazing friends on staff: Rene makes me a custom coffee mojito every morning, and Diego tells jokes and teaches us new words in Spanish, but this trip we got to try so many new things, I just had to write a new review! Augustin and his amazing team did some delicious "pop up restaurants" for lunch that we loved! We especially enjoyed the Machetes and the Paella. Alex and his entertainment team have started doing daily Mexican crafts that are so much fun! I learned how to make Huichols, and we got to paint sugar skulls on Cantaritos. The day we were leaving, they were going to do tie dye, and I'm so sad I missed it, but I look forward to doing it next time. Willian, the Sommelier, did a really lovely wine tasting of Mexican wines that we 100% recommend. And on the subject of premium wine and spirits, we recommend getting to Ricks bar early so Rigoberto can make you a smoked cocktail before the evening rush hits. On our previous trip, we had the tomahawk steak dinner (extra charge), and it was so amazing that we had to do it again: this time around they prepared it differently, but it was just as delicious! The chef brought it out whole (as one would expect), but then cut it up for us and laid it out on a tabletop Peruvian charcoal grill, which had the lovely effect of crisping up some of the fat--it was such a lovely meal, and the staff went the extra mile to make it so, like when Felipe the bartender made us custom cocktails to go with our meal. We stayed in room 909, which meant we got a private beach bed, which was made with care every morning, whether by Eli our beach butler Daisy. We loved the suite, and we were so grateful to our butlers Oscar and Julieta for every little detail they managed to make this a perfect trip. We really can't wait for our next visit home to Maroma!

Beautiful beach and resort. Just the right size and wonderful staff make this a perfect relaxing getaway. We picked this resort because of the beach and we have been to other El Dorado properties in the past so were confident in the brand. It also is not too far from the airport. Our decision was a great one as this vacay gave us everything we wanted. Our room was lovely (712) with view of pool and ocean. I got a Bali bed every morning (I’m an early riser) and the attention to detail on the beach was great. Frequent visits from beach waiters Daniel, Betsabe, Karen, Misael, Salome and Rene kept us happy and the people in charge on the beach especially Jorge made sure our towels were set and we had all we needed. The animators are very friendly and we did a few fun activities including camel visit, aqua fitness and wine +painting. Shout outs to Erik, Isabel and leirbag. We did the water circuit and I had a lovely massage with Elena. I think the spa had the nicest heated massage table I have ever felt. The restaurants were all nice but our favorite was Lima Limon for breakfast and lunch. Waiter Jesus went above and beyond for us, finding us mangoes and remembering what we liked from day to day and he basically made our day every day. The Italian restaurant was great and we liked the Asian as well. As a treat, we had dinner at the Palifitos restaurant (extra cost) but it was worth it for the special view, fabulous food and atmosphere. An overlooked gem is Ricks bar, which was fun in the evenings for drinks and dancing. This resort is small, upscale and quiet. There isn’t a wild disco or late night party scene. There is lots of action at the main pool during the day and the weekly foam party was actually lots of fun. We saw raccoons, cats and the resident Coati , and the gardens are lovely So in summary, if you are looking for a quiet, upscale holiday with beach for miles, great food and drink and excellent staff, El Dorado Maroma is a fantastic choice.

There are daily activities and nightly entertainment included. We met some wonderful people that will become forever friends. I especially want to thank Rafael and Jesus at Lima Limon, our concierge Paola, and our wonderful bartender Joscue. We will be back!

I thought our favourite restaurant was Mio but the Caribbean Grill was amazing, Wilbert, Matino, they’re great, excellent service. Renata help us very much with our transport to the airport. The green juice with tequila it’s the best drink, you should try, it’s healthy and not healthy by the same time. A special thanks to Erik the golden boy, Isabel, Leirbag, Alex and Dj Juan

On the strength of our first visit in 2018 for our Honeymoon, we decided to go back in 2022 and we were glad the rest still had fantastic service as well as some improvements such as the beachside bar by the main pool which was a nice add addition. We enjoyed a Honeymoon Suite again, which was well stocked and fully functional. The staff were, as expected, superb and everyone was friendly and polite, delivered a fantastic customer centric service; nothing appeared to be too much trouble. The Spa facilities were also beautiful and the couples massage was well worth it. When we were there the final renovations of two of the severn or so dining venues were still being renovated but concealed from view and no building noise or activity was seen or heard. The cuisines that those restaurants provided were available in the other restaurants too which meant that we didn't miss out on the Mexican or Asian food choices. Specific mentions for the following people who made our experience magical: - Manuel the Beach Concierge who was so hard working, always had a smile and reserved us a beach bed on a number of mornings! - Diego working all over the place including behind the main pool bar. - Augustine the Sommelier for the Tequila tasting which was excellent. - Jorge on the beach who worked flat out all day to make our experience good. - Claudia our personal concierge who made the effort to find us periodically, have a friendly chat and organise our trip for us. - Martiniano who served our candle lit dinner as well as Mio a number of times; we spoke to him regularly and he gave an excellent Service. It's hard not to mention everyone as the whole team are excellent. The staff get rewarded for good performance and personal mentions in places like this so I would advise if you had a good trip, please do the same.
