Perhaps I’m to blame for not reading the fine print but I envisioned something quite different when I reserved the non-rustic cabin. There was no television, no cups, no microwave, no outdoor lighting (made for hazardous walks to/fro the car at night), no explanation for how to use the high-tech remote-controlled heating system, unresponsive management. We called the office after hours to confirm the heating unit was safe to use in the bedroom as it had black tape on it and the cabin was becoming increasingly cold - our voicemail went unreturned. We checked out the next morning to a locked reception office and never heard from anyone. The cabin looked clean at first glance but my confidence vanished upon closer inspection (men’s facial hair trimmings around the sink’s rim). Trim missing from the bathroom exposed the subfloor. I was disappointed the staff weren’t masked as advertised as it was one of the reasons we felt comfortable booking. Bottom line: this was extremely underwhelming and dare I say disappointing for the cost ($300/night) and the potential (read the “About” section on their website - the property has a fascinating history). I wanted to love this but didn’t. The one redeeming factor: our bed was dreamily comfortable. Be forewarned: not all cabins are alike and some clearly need a little TLC.

Hotel's Favorite
This was my favorite stay in a 9 day New England trip. We had a huge recently renovated room with a king bed and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the bay. Outside we had our own small patio with chairs to enjoy the view. There are also several decks and sitting areas around the property. We enjoyed taking a canoe out one morning in the bay. Our rate also included a good breakfast buffet. The views in every direction are terrific. I would definitely return - but stay for longer next time!!

Best choice we made for our trip to the Maine coast! The Linekin Bay Resort has a fantastic water view with the added feature of those trees that contribute to the magic of Maine. Our waterfront king was comfortable, spacious and perfectly located. We appreciated being apart from the congested main part of Boothbay Harbor in a quieter spot, but just a short drive to restaurants and other Boothbay attractions. Here's the best and most surprising part: Linekin's Bay restaurant was excellent! We had two dinners as well as both our breakfasts there and every dish was top-notch and reasonable priced for Boothbay. We'll be back!

The room was ok, but know that there is no air conditioning and it was hot and humid. There is an overead fan in the room, but not enough to take out the humidity. The staff here are wonderful, and were working very hard to get the rooms turned over from a full night before. The TV in our room didn't work very well, and the floors felt like they needed a good cleaning. If walking around in bare feet, your feet became filthy and needed to be cleaned before you jumped into bed. Probably from the gravel parking lot and road. Rest of the room seemed very clean. Overall stay was peaceful.

So much to say, so few characters. Many of the guests were like me and had been there before. I was a teen 1967-1970 when last there. Enjoyed sharing stories with others like me. The area is beautiful, especially this time of year. If you like sailing and water sports, then you will appreciate this resort. Capt. Mary runs an efficient operation with water sports. More importantly, she demands safety from her staff. A large plus for me with EMS and Nursing background. The staff including the front desk, the waiting staff, and the cleaning staff were all, without exception, very friendly and accommodating. The food, with one exception, was well presented. We did the all inclusive and our meals were very well done. I did have one night of GI distress, but who knows? The cabins were interesting. The history behind the facility is written elsewhere. My son and daughter in law had an upgraded cabin, which my family had stayed in years ago. Two bedrooms with air conditioners, and recently remodeled. Very nice. Friends stayed in one of the pet friendly cabins, the picture of which is listed online. No air conditioning, and for the most part in Maine, that is acceptable. Of course we were there on the hottest week. Our cabin was built by Bob Branch years ago. It has not been upgraded, although plans are to upgrade it. This cabin is not acceptable. This was the only issue that I had here. Given the focus of the owners and management, the rest of the resort is worthy of high acclaim. However, with due respect, the Topsail cabin is in need of major overhaul. From conversations with management, all of whom were exceptional, I still have to say that this and a couple of other cabins need to be upgraded or not rented. I absolutely loved my time here. However, these do not even meet the minimum requirements for a resort in 2022. Again, Anything that is upgraded is wonderful. This, not so much. My memories were those of an exciting and vibrant water based activity facility. This still stands. The new owners and in particular the new management do a wonderful job. With the final upgrades, this will continue to be a hidden gem for those who love the water sports that the Linekin Bay/Boothbay Harbor have to offer. I would strongly encourage the owners to 1. allow the actual pictures of the cabins to be posted online. The pictures we looked at were not what we got. and 2. The owners should stay involved in what is going on. If they saw the cabin that we were in, they would not allow it to be rented. Period. Overall, a great resort, and I would go there again and again, with the exceptions noted. One last repeat, the staff and the management were absolutely very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Hello, thank you so much for your thorough feedback. In the last seven seasons the new ownership has picked away at renovating the property and the cabins year after year during each off-season. We do still have some "Rustic / Camp-Like" Cabins on property that we do advertise as such and include photos that we feel represent them accurately. We apologize that you did not enjoy your stay in one of our rustic cabins. We would suggest when booking again you book a different accommodation type that has been renovated. We plan to continue renovating the rustic cabins each off-season as time and resources allow. Thank you so much for referencing your favorite parts of Linekin Bay Resort - the waterfront sports and the people! Linekin Bay Resort is a very special place and we do our very best to ensure those who have been traveling to LBR year after year still feel the warmth when they arrive on property, and leave with more memories and fun adventures on Linekin Bay!

A wonderful getaway at a lovely, recently upgraded and remodeled resort with a "summer camp" vibe. We came by boat, having reserved a mooring just in front of the hotel, and were promptly met by a hotel launch that brought us to the dock. The plentiful staff are friendly and professional. The amenities are varied and fun - kayaks, sailboat rentals, playing fields, volleyball, lawn games, and of course the heated swimming pool overlooking the ocean. Our room was a good size with king bed and two comfy club chairs, and the bathroom was clean and updated. The dining on-campus (best way to describe the sprawling resort with numerous lodges and individual cabins) is at the Deck Bar & Grill which has ample outdoor seating for good weather as well as a cozy lodge-like indoor area with large stone fireplace if the weather turns chilly.

Beautiful resort in a beautiful location. Lots of fun amenities... sail boats, paddle boards, kayaks, heated salt water pool. But, make sure you keep in mind... there are NO TV's... no microwaves.. no AC...everything closes down at 8pm. We were upgraded to a lake front room in the Main Inn. It was a beautiful view but it was NOISY! One morning were were awakened by two of the staff (in the dining room below us) YELLING at each other. Another morning the dining room was being rearranged and we were awakened by table and chairs being scrapped and drug across the floor downstairs. We would stay again... but in a different room and be more prepared for lack of AC and lack of open hours for restaurant and bar. We had one disappointing experience in the restaurant the first night we were there. Seemed they were turning over staff, starting off the new season and many were not yet trained. We received the wrong entree for dinner and when we pointed it out to our waiter it was removed and then served again... cold.

My only disappointment was that we couldn’t stay longer! It was so quiet in the evening sitting out on the deck, it was totally relaxing. We went to Portland first, then on to Linekin, next time… straight to Linekin! You’re close to Boothbay Harbor which is a treat in itself. Lots to see, lots to do, as relaxing or as active as you want to make it. This place is a true hidden gem! We stayed in Linwood Lodge room 14, there’s really no bad spot to be convenient to everything that Linekin has to offer. There are some newer and some older cabins and lodges on property. Linwood is one of the newer buildings. Just something to enquire about when you book if you have a preference. Also there was no microwave or air conditioning in our room. A microwave would have been nice, but we didn’t need AC. That says a lot from a guy who lives for and works on air conditioning systems. There are ceiling fans.

My wife and I got married here back in October, 2020. Our previous venue in Boothbay cancelled on us with 3 weeks notice, and we lucked out with Linekin having availability. I'm certain that our wedding was made way better by having it here, even though we only had 3 weeks to plan most of it. The staff and Melissa, the event planner, were all absolutely wonderful! Our wedding was everything we could have ever dreamed of thanks to them. Would recommend 10/10.
