We were desperate to get away in the time of COVID and the Topside was perfect! The room was beautiful and comfortable and the view is wonderful. Most importantly, we felt safe - everything from arrival to breakfast to housekeeping was clearly thought out and we truly appreciated that. We will definitely be back!

Buzz and Mark are the best innkeepers ever. To begin, the breakfasts are amazing and will keep you full. The staff is so friendly and will help you plan your day with getting reservations and tickets to local attrractions. The view of the harbor is beautiful. We definitely plan to return! Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend..

By far this has been our favorite b&b experience in New England- EVER. Prior to our arrival, they were very communicative on what to expect related to COVID which I thought was really informative. We arrived at the B&B early evening and over a glass of prosecco, they checked us in and gave us all of the background on our stay and what to expect. We had a water view room- room 11. It was a good size and looked recently renovated. The bed was comfortable, they had local artwork on the walls and a great sitting area on the balcony with nautical pillows and blankets ready to watch a cozy sunset. The bathroom had quality Beekman amenities. The room is exactly what you expect of a coastal setting. Now on to their management of COVID. At a time when many small hotels are pinching pennies and limiting their offering, Topside isn't missing a beat offering top-notch service at every turn. There was a list of items you could request whether it was additional bathroom amenities, magazines, room essentials, etc and you put the sheet outside of your door and someone would bring your items in a timely manner. I looked forward to breakfast each morning. The night before, a menu was brought to your room with the next morning's breakfast menu- granola, fresh fruit, frittatas or baked goods, and a main course was all included along with fresh juices. You picked a time slot and your breakfast was brought to your room in an LL Bean tote bag perfect for enjoying the morning sun over the harbor on the balcony and instagrammable to boot. All of the recipes served were from their cookbook and what would have normally been served in the breakfast room prior to COVID. When many hotels are simplifying their breakfast or getting rid of it altogether- this was such a treat! You could also order fantastic cheese plates and designate a time for them to bring it to your room. We opted for this one night in lieu of dinner because we were so stuffed from lunch. We enjoyed it at sunset on our balcony accompanied by a bottle of reasonably priced wine that was already in the minibar. This was truly a fantastic stay and I hope I can stay there again in the future- they hit it all on the mark.

We were in Maine briefly for a difficult family event. It was very helpful to me to arrive at my Boothbay 'home" again this summer. Despite all the COVID issues, Mark and Buzz did not miss a beat to provide fabulous everything in new safe packaging. As a family we had 4 rooms but enjoyed breakfast together on the updated porch and comfy cushions. Additionally they recommended Doug Goldhirsch who had a rental cruising boat for 6 people. His tour of the Harbor was great too if wanting a more private ride. No wonder they were named the Inn Keepers of 2020. Looking forward to next time!! Thank you both and to your team!! Faith restored that excellence in service and attention to detail DOES exist in our Covid-19 world. The 2 gents who own Topside are top notch and their entire staff represents equally (Rebekah!). From the delish fresh baked cookies at your bedside daily to the well curated breakfast brought to your room door daily (covid restriction), Topside is a top notch value in the sweet seaside town of Boothbay Harbor. The beds are super comfy with excellent soft sheets. The rooms are well appointed and immaculate. Overlooking a cliff with ocean/bay views, a short walk to town and back is the perfect location. Staff went out of their way in courtesies to make sure our stay was perfect and it was. I'm hesitant to even mention that the walls are little thin because it's not a late night town but can wake you up to it a bit. Not even close to enough issue to take off a star, that's how lovely the Topside is. Run don't walk and book your Boothbay accommodations at Topside Inn! Strong recommendation.
