Beware there is no television in any rooms or common areas. I'm not a TV junkie but watching the news and relaxing a bit before turning in for the night is something I like to do. The NO television is not fully disclosed on the Room descriptions in the web site.

My wife and I closed the Crocker Pond House on Feb 23rd after 18 years of welcoming guests to our "Quiet retreat with beauty inside and out" as part of the quiet we have always stated on our website that we have no TV's. In those 18 years this is only the 2nd time it has been an issue for a guest including many families with children. The guests arrived, checked in and were very complimentary about the design and finish of the house. A few hours later I was told that he could not stand to be without TV for 3 nights. I refunded 2 of their 3 night's room charge and offered him the phone to contact another lodging establishment. Its unfortunate to end on a note like this but it only reminds us how lucky we have been to have so many interesting and wonderful guests.

Cons- when we arrived, we walked in and no one was to be found. We wandered around a bit calling out "hello" and finally Stuart came. He was less than welcoming. A man of few words. The website touts "all rooms are south facing with unobstructed views of the mountains".
