We were visiting for the Laconia Bike Rally in our 43’ Momentum. We called for reservations months in advance and was given the only site (#1) that could accommodate our rig. We booked the dates that were available, 10 days. We were given a 30-50 amp site which we later learned was not 50 amp even though the map and representative told us it was. This was our greatest issue and frustration. There is no sewer but they do run a honey wagon twice a week and it cost us twelve bucks. That was doable.m and a VERY nice amenity. They do charge for visitors and are strict about it. This is strangely common here in New England. I think it’s bad business policy but I understand the concept. And because we enjoy relaxing and quiet campgrounds, this kind of helps keep it in check I suppose. They are extremely pet and family friendly. It’s on a lake/pond, so there are canoes, paddle boards, swimming, etc. They have a pool, game room, and little putt putt course. We weren’t traveling with kids so we didn’t use any of these. They have laundry and restrooms also which we did not use. But our neighbors said they were nice. There is a camp store with camp store prices for just about anything you need. I cannot stress how clean this place is. They take the sites after each guest and there are trash cans for every site to use. They also collect it daily. We loved this place and wish that our site was equipped with 50 amp because this would be our yearly stay when we come for bike week and visiting our family in York.…
Visiting an elderly relative in Kittery and I wanted to protect her (and me) from exposure to COVID-19. BDC not only gave me a safe place to stay but provided me with rest and relaxation during the time that I could not be with her. I have camped all over the US and BDC impressed me with the friendliness of its staff, its quietness and the outstanding cleanliness of its grounds and facilities. The staff did a very good job of implementing COVID-19 precautions. BDC is about 10 miles from the beach but they are easy - country road - miles. BDC is very convenient to grocery, etc. Will stay here on a future trip to Maine.
My first visit to BDC w/C Hannaford. Our site was spacious and the grounds were very well maintained. The bathrooms were clean and had a/c! There is a sandy beach area w/ dock and also an inground pool. I loved all the beautiful flowers. Great campground for relaxing and visiting nearby coastal towns. I will definitely return!
Thank you for another fantastic week. This is our 4th year staying at your camp ground and we love our experience. We find there to be a great balance between activities for kids and quiet time for adults. We enjoyed survivor weekend and all of the other activities. Thank you for providing a place where our young ones can play and grow in a safe environment as well. We highly recommend this place for couples looking for a quiet peaceful experience and families looking for lots of activities for their children. It is only a 1/2 hour drive to several beaches and there are some great local restaurants as well. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed her stay as well.
This was our second camping experience with our new camper.. rented our site for the month of July with my husband, 10 year old and 2 year old... We were super excited to be only 20 minutes from home to travel back and fourth! Unfortunately my 2 year old suffers seizures and we left in a bit of a rush when he spiked a high fever out of nowhere! I believe we left a bag of marshmallows out on a chair that a small animal must have gotten into.. so we got a phone call about how “gross and terrible” we left our campsite.. I was confused at the call because I’m not a messy person by any means. So when we arrived back at camp I still was confused? My 2 year olds trucks were out and our chairs weren’t in a row but that was it! Later that day after “cleaning” it I went to get ice in the store, where the two “friendly” owners felt necessary to harass me some more about how appalling our site was in front of customers in there store.. told me it was “gross” and “ridiculous” when I explained why we left in a rush they shrugged there shoulders and told me “I’m sure as hell not going to pick it up!” Needless to say, this camp site is definitely not a “family” campground... the owners are interested in quite people without kids. I am all for rules and following them! But never have I ever been so disrespected by owners of a business.. I’m sure the owners will be on the comments of this trying to “prove” that it really was a mess of that they didn’t “harass” me as they have on other reviews.. but I took a picture of our “mess” so you be the judge!…
We traveled with our three grown children and two grandchildren for a fantastic week here. Grounds and all amenities are very well maintained and attractive to all ages. Two moderate thunder storms left us high, dry in our tents, and camp store trinkets and firewood kept us all happy campers. We met several seasonal campers that applauded our rustic camping spirit and loved the game room and pool for 90 degree fun and instant friendships for grands. York Beach and Nubble light & ice cream are close by and Thistle Pig is a great dinner out. Be sure to stop into Early Bird for breakfast at some point! We’ll be back!
we rented two sites, (39/40) 4 adults 6 children. we all had a blast! cant wait to go back. you can tell the owners put their heart and soul in to this place, the up keep and cleanliness is topnotch! our children were able to ride their bikes all around and have fun, the pool is clean. the private pond is nice, we canoed and paddle boated the whole weekend. great family campground! thank you for a fantastic weekend
This was our second experience at Beaver Dam. We have a 40 ft coach and were able to park it easily in our spot. The owners of Beaver Dam work extra hard to keep a well run, neat, and fun campground. There is no tolerance for people who are rude, disrespectful or break the rules. That's just the way we like it. The pond is fabulous for both swimming a other non-motorized boating activities. Many of the guests are seasonal or repeat year after year so there is a community like atmosphere in the campground. There are many New England towns nearby in both Maine and New Hampshire. The beaches and coast is a short 10-15 minute drive away. The restaurants, especially seafood, are everywhere. We already have our reservation in to hold our favorite campsite for the same time next year. Thank you Sheila and Michelle for a wonderful campground. Of all the places we have camped in 11 states, Beaver Dam is our absolute favorite!!…
I want to thank them for squeezing us in for the Weekend. This campground is very clean, family and dog friendly. We enjoyed our stay and hopefully we can return soon. It was fun doing Halloween for the kids despite the rain. Two thumbs up for Beaver Dam.
This is by far the worst campground that I have ever stayed at. The 2 owners of this campground constantly harassed my boys and emotionally abused them. 10 out of 10 would now recommended this campground
