Having waited until the day prior to arrival our preferred property and several others we had frequented were all fully booked. In desperation we reluctantly booked two nights at the Yankee Clipper. Our apprehension further increased when we nearly drove past due to poorly marked entrances and a badly dated road sign. However our concerns were quickly allayed upon entering the freshly modernized room which was clean and appointed with nice furniture. The king size bed was very comfortable, the lighting excellent and the air conditioner quieter than we recall ever experiencing. The Yankee Clipper provides excellent value and the oversized parking just outside the room is far more convenient than modern multistory chain hotels requiring the use of a central door and elevators.

All in all a good stay. It was very hot at time of visit and air conditioning worked well without making too much clatter. Bed was comfortable.. and bathroom and shower and little coffee/fridge/microwave niche was nice. But the outside is so cheerless and without charm. Of course it’s on the busy road... but there is nothing much around.. there are some plantings— but they need to grow before they provide shade or screening of the road. With the interior of room being so nice I just wish that there was some visual relief from the vast parking lot out in front. There is no place to get breakfast within walking distance.

Located on Route 1, just across the bay bridge, my large king room had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Road noise was minimal and I didn't hear neighbors at all. Parking right outside your room makes unloading and loading very easy.

My wife and I stayed here on our way to Bar Harbor. We had the King bedroom and the place was spotless! Very clean, and comfortable! We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it travelers.

We stayed at the Yankee Clipper en route to Acadia Park during peak season. For being more of a budget motel I was quite delighted at how exceptionally clean my room was; and by clean I mean spotless! My wife jokingly looked under the bed and on top of the door sills trying to find something that the house keeper missed, to no avail! My room was recently updated, the bed was super comfortable, and downtown Belfast is a short drive away. I would definitely stay here again.
