I rarely stay in motels and many of those experiences have been less than pleasant. Yankee Clipper is an exception. The rooms are impeccably clean and upgraded. The furniture and flooring was similar to what you find in recently updated hotels. I had a small dog and the fee was only $20 and they did not hassle me or have me sign a waiver. The housekeeping staff were very pleasant. The hotel is not quite in Belfast, but I did not see any options closer into town. This is worth every dollar.

First time staying here and we stayed for 3 nights. Found the room to be very clean. Bed was comfortable. We were in the end unit so didn't have rooms on both sides, but found it very quiet. Like most, the bathrooms lack enough hooks to hang wet towels, but if you bring your own suction hooks, there's plenty of place to put them. One surprise was finding a roll of paper towels near the microwave/fridge counter.....certainly put them to good use during our stay! Would definitely recommend this motel and will would stay again when in the area!

A gem. This is a 1950 style motel which has been completed remodeled. Set back from Rt 1 and we were not disturbed by any traffic noise. Beautifully redone with hardwood flooring, which is so much cleaner feeling than carpeting. We had a king bed room which was extremely comfortable. There is a huge advantage to being able to park right in front of your room. We loved our night here and would highly recommend it to anyone passing through the area. Young’s Lobster Pound, which is also highly rated, is directly across the street. Be sure and go there for the lobster.

We spent one night here on our New England road trip. It is not a chain, so it was our most reasonably priced hotel. We had two rooms for our group of 5. The gentleman at the front desk was extremely pleasant when he checked us in.

Everything is on one floor and you park right in front of your room. This is very convenient. The rooms are updated and very clean. No yucky carpeting. Each room had a microwave and a fridge. The bedding and towels were clean. The rooms were exactly as they are pictured on the website.

There is a laundry on-site which we used. The front desk was able to give me quarters. Washer and dryer were each $2. The dryer gave you 45 minutes so it was not necessary to purchase extra time. You can even buy a Tide pod at the front desk.

Breakfast is not included. But that's okay. Right down the street is a mini-mart and that worked for us.

The location was convenient. We would definitely stay here again if we

DON'T stay here, if you're a 5-star snob expecting concierge service and breakfast mimosas in bed.
DO stay here if you're looking for a comfortable bed in the CLEANEST hotel/motel room you have ever experienced. This place is clearly old, but the owners have kept it up great. The rooms (at least ours) have recent paint, and laminate fllors. The bathroom is all ceramic tiled and nice, though small.
What really knocked me over is how CLEAN the room was!! I mean, it was like "we're trying to hide a murder" clean. Mr. Monk would definitely approve! The bedding was crisp and clean and had no holes too.
This was definitely not expected at its "budget" price.

Perfect place to stay as our family was visiting Maine to tour Maine Maritime. Our family will stay here if we ever find ourselves in Maine again. Very clean, friendly service, easy to access. Like new. Has microwave, coffee maker, cups, tea, refrigerator, towels, soaps, shampoos, hairdryer. Friendly service. After we checked out, we stopped at Mainely Pizza in Montville for a delicious, affordable, homemade breakfast that kept our family satisfied until afternoon. Has gluten free options as well as homemade baked goods. Giant oatmeal raisin cookies and fresh local coffee.

We really liked our stay at the Yankee Clipper. The front desk gentleman was so helpful with suggestions for dining and got extra quarters for me when I needed them for the laundry. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and roomy. Conveniently located off the highway, we didn't notice much noise. Plenty of parking and able to park in front of our room. Laundry room was clean and the washer/dryer efficient. I had the opportunity to talk to the housekeeping staff and they were friendly and helpful too with smiles on their faces. If the opportunity ever arises again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here or recommend to our friends.

This property is a hidden gem! Well-maintained, very, very clean (I couldn't find a speck of dust), well appointed rooms and comfortable beds. What I really liked is that we could not hear the occupants on either side of us nor ever hear another door close. Lots of towels, toiletries and even a bath mat for safety and a grab bar. The mini-frig, too, was actually turned on and cold! We would definitely stay here again.

Location is convenient. This one story motel is right off the road and quiet. Check in was quick and checkout is easy, just leave key in room. Updated bathroom. Everything very clean. We especially liked the mini kitchen. In one area is the microwave,
coffee maker and even a roll of paper towels on a counter where is was easy to prepare a simple breakfast and lunch to take with us. Below the counter is the refrigerator and an open space for our supplies. We would definitely recommend this motel.

This motel is right off Hwy 1. If you have trouble sleeping, bring ear plugs because the rooms are very nice. Bed is comfortable. It was a great surprise to open our door to a remodeled room. Off season. Motel seemed full. Only stayed one night. Would stay here again!
