Finca Bellavista lives up to its promise as an environmentally sustainable tree house community with challenging hikes from which one can explore virgin and secondary growth rain forest, a base camp that offers fantastic food grown on the property, and very cool tree house accommodations. Read the website and follow its instructions. Be prepared to carry anything you want in... More

The sole reason my husband and I chose Costa Rica for our honeymoon was because we had heard about Finca Bellavista and wanted to see it for ourselves. We stayed in El Castillo Mastate, the "penthouse" (as the staff called it). El Castillo (the treehouse pictured in Finca's TripAdvisor thumbnail) was truly a sight to behold and we felt like... First I must say that if you choose a treehouse far from "base camp" plan on doing some walking with hills and wear clothes that you plan on sweating through. It was 100% humidity and anywhere we walked my husband and I were both drenched with sweat. Having said that it was a truly amazing experience and I highly recommend... More

Exciting, unique and authentic. My company hosts wellness travel and eco- adventure experiences globally. We visit a lot of beautiful and authentic properties but Finca Bellavista is one of the most unique settings I have experienced. The grounds and private forest are teeming with wildlife, spectacular plants, views, well marked hiking trails, waterfalls, swimming holes. The tree houses are not... More

The hut and the nature where amazingly nice. We agree with all positive feedback on TA but we where disappointed for some others points: thougt to find a real community but we discovered its just a business to make money... a lot of money... its a bit over priced. Price policy not fair. They add 23% on top of all... More

Hola Phillip - We are sad to hear how disappointed you were with your visit to Finca Bellavista. Because you did not have a reservation and showed up unannounced, we went above and beyond the normal call of duty to try to accommodate your family. Our staff even babysat for you to allow you all to spend time together. Many... More

Finca Bellavista is beyond words, you just have to see it. we stayed two nights in casa mariposa and it was amazing! the only "downside" was the walk to the house from basecamp, what a workout! the property is beautiful, great place for nature lovers, you can hike for days. swimming holes, waterfalls, hiking trails, ziplining, this place has it... Shhhh... Do you hear that? You have yet to open you're eyes but already you hear the hum of the southern Costa Rican rain forest... The early sun ever so lightly licks warmth across your eyelashes, and you come to be blissfully awakened... Baby birds take flight; armoured insects scurry through the fallen pieces of the jungle, and perhaps somewhere... More

I went with my girlfriend in Feb-2015, We're both 30, however we've met a lot of people from different age range. It's a unique experience, and for those who enjoy nature should go there for sure! The staff is outstanding and the place is great to relax, birdwatch, hike, swim on the river and the waterfall. My cellphone didn't work... More

My boyfriend and I booked Casa Colibri for two night. We were hesitant when booking at first since it wasn't a treehouse and all the treehouses were not available. We decided to go with it and I am so thankful we did. No online reviews, images and videos can do this place justice. It has a very strong community feel... More

Casa Mariposa was our home for 6 days and we enjoyed many great cups of Costa Rican coffee and wildlife sightings from the spacious deck overlooking the rainforest. The day trips to other areas of the finca physically stretched our endurance but each one was an amazing way of experiencing the rainforest. Even though carrying our groceries the 20 minute... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Finca Bellavista is a treehouse community in the rainforest of Costa Rica! Our home is a rustic, yet comfortable private retreat off the beaten path where owners and guests can explore the natural wonders of the rainforest canopy and enjoy treetop 'Pura Vida'. Finca Bellavista is not a full-service spa, a fancy hotel, or a canopy tour. We are located in quiet corner of Costa Rica that is removed from many of the influences of the outside world. The nearest town (1.5 miles away) contains a school, a church, a pulperia, a bus stop, a handful of houses, and of course, a soccer field. That's it. No souvenir shops, no mini-malls, and no rowdy bars. Finca Bellavista is for the true traveller who wants to experience something truly different and special. We have acres of forest and gardens to explore, refreshing rivers, birdwatching, tours and much more. We look forward to hosting you in our rainforest home! ... more   less
