Experience antebellum splendor in this circa 1796 National Historic Register plantation home renowned for its mystery, history and intrigue. Our recently opened Restaurant 1796 is a beautiful blend of the old and the new, centered around open hearth cooking on site. Book a tour, stay the night and enjoy tradition with a twist in a modern menu of local produce and clever cocktails crafted on site.
Me and my husband and our kids went there for my little girls birthday she turned 11 and we had a great time we had the caretakers cottage for them and we had the Bradford suite it was fun and we had a great time it was very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful and we even had visitors from the ghost of Kate even pics me and my family have been going there for 5 years now every month we sleep there and visit there during the months of those 5 years and we enjoy it every time the only thing is I wish the breakfast would be like it used to be I miss that but it is what it is. I'm going back again soon the coffee is great just miss the breakfast if they would change that back it would be perfect.

I took the mystery tour in 2018 and it was fantastic, took us all over the house. This time it was 4 rooms and over. I was disappointed because I wanted to show my family the great experience I had in 2018. Did eat at restaurant 1796 and that was amazing atmosphere and service

Went to myrtles and treated unfairly. Tried to get a job because I have interest & passion for the place. I was turned away and treated like garbage and turned me down for the job because I'm not on their level. How rude and unfair not to mention unprofessional... Gave contributed to the gift shop , respected all and still got treated like a disease.. NEVER EVER AGAIN..... DONT TRY TO WORK THERE. IF YOUR NOT ON THEIR LEVEL YOU WILL BE DUMPED ON!! SO MUCH FOR STAYING THE WEEKEND!!!!! it's a good thing I found out how they treat people before reserving the room.

It has been over 10 years since my husband and I have been, this was our 4th trip, it has changed very much, the plantation was charming and still very much ghostly presence, we stayed in main house where we have stayed before, we had a great time, our best friends, another couple went with us, we stayed in the connecting rooms upstairs, unfortunately it was crowded everywhere in the middle of the week, so there was a lot of noise, and it was hard to soak up paranormal with the partying going on, but we still got some wonderful pictures. The restaurant my husband and I were extremely disappointed- my fish was literally burnt bad, his rib plate was really bad, the staff was very friendly, my advice is Oder something off of the small plate menu and a hamburger and you will be okay. …

So a friend and I visited/stayed at Myrtles Plantation for the third time. Unlike the past 2 trips, this time we actually stayed inside the home. In the "doll room". Nothing paranormal happened, but we still had a great time. I'm looking forward to a 4th trip!

This is an absolutely beautiful place with the cutest little cabins to stay overnight. They are spacious and clean with plenty of room for 4. You can also stay in the plantation home but all those rooms are for 2 only. The night tour is so informative and well worth the $20. Daytime tours are free. They also offer free coffee, water, and breakfast, which is fabulous. The city of St Francisville is also a fabulous place for shopping or grabbing a bite to eat. It is also full of historic and beautiful places to see and explore. So if you're a history buff you must go.

The whole experience is amazing. From the moment you arrive the vibe is dope for ghost enthusiasts!! 1796 is probably hands down one of the best restaurants I have ever eaten. This was our second trip in 6 months and we will be going back in the next month or so. Also let’s mention how amazing downtown St. Francisville is for your trip. Magnolia cafe is a must!!!

The staff was very friendly. We had reservations for a 8:00 pm tour and paid the full price. The tour only consisted of 2 rooms and a foyer. They claimed the rest of the house was under construction due to a leak in the ceiling and I was even scolded for looking behind a curtain even though we were able to look through a doorway in a different location. So why charge full price for half of the house? Reduce your price until we are able to see all the house!

My husband & I spent the weekend at Myrtles Plantation for our mini honeymoon. We stayed in the Judge Clarke Woodruff suite and it was amazing (but very spooky). We highly recommend this to anyone interested! The grounds & house were beyond beautiful!! We went for the spooky aspect but didn’t realize how much history was there. Everyone was so nice and accommodating! Will definitely go back!!

The Ruffin Sterling room smelled very badly, like vomit. When my friend and I were so graciously invited to see other guests suites inside the home, their rooms did not have that smell. I think the rug needed to be changed in our room. The garden rooms are much, much better so it was nice to stay there the second night of our trip. The breakfast was great though! The tour guides were very good as well, both the day and night tours. A word of caution though… for any ghost hunters, psychics, highly sensitive persons, or empathy…this place is truly haunted and I’m not sure that all the spirits on the property are friendly. We conducted an EVP session in the gazebo and I regret not wearing some kind of spiritual protection jewelry or blessed objects. Several people we didn’t know participated and saving was needed afterwards. In our room in the Ruffin Sterling suite we could hear rustling, the sound of heavy petticoats and both of our cameras shut off at 1:30am after we heard footsteps in the hallway. The sound of a small child saying, “Mother” could be heard on camera. What spooked me most is that the spirits in our EVP sessions new people’s names and repeated several times. I can cross The Myrtles off my bucket list now, but it is not for the faint of heart if you are sensitive to spirit energy.…
