We stayed here for 2 nights. We were welcomed like old friends and made to feel like part of the family. The food was awesome and very tasty. Two of our party had dietary requirements that were catered for without any fuss. Dinner was a 4 course affair with drinks provided. Julie and David, our hosts, assisted all the guests...

Everything about no 56 is superb - the rooms, the service, the breakfast. David and Julie make everything comfortable and personal. We have stayed with them many times and everything is always excellent. It's really 'home from home!'

Just had an amazing experience following the journey of my great uncle and Grandad during WW1. We stayed at number 56 and really enjoyed our stay. Our hosts Julie and David made our stay very special, the Bluebird room was great, Julie's food was delicious and David is an excellent guide around the Somme.

Julie and David are truly the most amazing hosts, David is a fountain of knowledge on The Somme. You were made to feel at home and nothing was too much trouble. The meals were superb, so if they ever need to find another direction for the B & B, Julie could run cooking classes - I'll be among the first...

We stayed for four nights and found our hosts David & Julie very welcoming and extremely informative. The room was ideal, both breakfasts and dinners were excellent and there was a plentiful supply of wine and beer, if desired. We found David & Julie to be helpful and supportive of all their guests who had lost family in the area....

Introduced to this brilliant property by my friend and tour guide. Julie and David are great hosts, and go out of their way to make your stay fabulous . The rooms are ideal, very comfortable. Dinner is around a communal table with other guests. What fantastic people we met! The dinner is amazing, plentiful and delicious. It's also almost impossible...

This was my first trip abroad alone and so there were some nerves before arriving at number 56. However these soon vanished as I was welcomed in by Julie and David and offered a cup of tea and cake. This really set the tone for the rest of the stay. I opted to have dinner at number 56 and I...

My daughter arranged for us to pay our respects to 'Uncle William' my Father's eldest brother who died in the Battle of The Somme aged just 17 years old. Sam had booked us in to a 'B & B' called No 56 in a little village called La Boisselle close to the Thiepval Memorial. I don't really know what I...

My dad and I have just returned from an unforgettable road trip to the Somme, made all the more so by Julie & David's fantastic hospitality. They truly are the perfect hosts and Number 56 is a real 'home from home', as many reviews below attest. We began our trip with the simple ambition of paying our respects to my...

Julie and David deserve to wear the Golden Keys reserved for the best concierge of 5 star hotels because of the way they accommodated and assisted us. Julie held our 10month old daughter so we could eat dinner or breakfast. Our daughter Matilda simply loved Julie and their cuddles. Traveling with a baby for the first time is difficult but...
