This was our third stay at Woodland, and it is consistently an outstanding place to stay. The staff is extremely efficient and friendly, the food (evening meals, Thanksgiving dinner, breakfast) was wonderful. We go to relax, some visit to go fishing with a guide and enjoy Louisiana's outstanding fishing. We stayed in the Big House and there are several historical...

I stayed at Woodland Plantation last night after wining and dining in Spirits Hall, its restaurant. I dined with two friends at seven p.m. While the meal was expensive (for me) at $55 each plus tax and tip, it was as good as most high end restaurants in New Orleans. In one way, the meal was better because the appetizer...

My son and I stayed here to see another view of the state after visiting New Orleans. it was utterly relaxing. We loved the rocking chairs on the porch and the swing in the yard. The staff was accommodating and dinner was amazing. I had local Gulf fish and a nice white wine. We met interesting travelers at dinner. Breakfast...

Very friendly staff & owner. Comfortable, excellent food & service. The surrounding grounds are well kept &, along with the levee trail, are excellent & interesting places to walk. The photos on the interior walls tell the history of Woodland. Watching the resident alligators in the pond behind the house is an unusual attraction.

I arrived here after dark and was directed to my room in a different house than the reception. It was pitch black so I didn't see much of the house but it looked big. Found my room and it felt almost like sleeping in a museum. I couln't here any other guests but didn't look closely. Woke up early next...

I just returned from a 2 night stay at Woodland Plantation and it was wonderful. If you are looking for a different change of pace from the city, then I highly recommend this place. Our host, Foster, was incredible. I've never seen such a laid back atmosphere and great overall experience, from the food to the lodging. This is a...

Foster and the staff make a fishing trip fantastic. The first year weather was cool and windy but we caught lots of fish and food was delicious. Second year, we talked so much 2 more came along. Again food and lodging was superb. Soooo .... we are booked and counting the days.

We had a great stay, just a short drive from New Orleans, but it felt like a different world and a different age. The food was insanely good. The rooms verged on rustic, but were very comfortable. It was a great place for our 3-year-old. He got to run around, meet an alligator (safely) and the staff were kind and...

Foster and crew serve up abundant southern hospitality. We felt we had Chef Mike as a personal chef after preparing our catch in an exceptional blackened redfish dish. So good the four of us cancelled a NOLA reservation and asked for it with new sides the next night. Can't wait to return to another highly enjoyable weekend. Atl Bob
