We stayed to nights here whilst visiting Horton Plains and Nuwara Eliya. Our room (Demata) had wonderful views through huge plate glass windows out over the hill and forests. The staff were all very attentive and friendly and the food was excellent, with all their vegetables home grown. Note: bring your own booze or, if you forget, the Manager can organise a tuktuk to bring beer! There is a strawberry and vegetable farm next to the hotel and you can get a tour round if you are interested.

Luxury accommodation, the most amazing views across the landscape from the terrace and through massive plate glass windows in living area and bedroom. Staff were very professional, friendly and informative about the area, wildlife, sights and advice on where best to walk. Nayana, the manager was very knowledgable about wildlife and in particular the birds which we were able to spot and identify in the grounds and flying across the valley. Ilango and Seelan, provided the best service at breakfast and dinner, nothing was too much trouble, including getting our packed lunches ready for a 4. 30 a.m. start to catch the sunrise at Horton Plains. A place not to be missed. - pass it on!!

Five of us, travelling together as a group visiting the Horton Plains National Park, stayed at Plains Green Bungalow from 17th to 19th November 2022. We were warmly received on arrival with tasty welcome drinks. After we had a tasty lunch, we were led to our rooms at the cottage close-by and the baggage delivered.

The property is surrounded by their 15 hectare, beautifully maintained farm cultivated with veggies and strawberries. The view from the reception and rooms is out of this world, overlooking their valley farm and distant mountains. The sky was clear and blue during our visit, although it could be misty at times.

There are eight spacious, clean, and comfortable rooms, each with heaters, comfortable king size bedding, writing desk, comfortable sofa chairs, clothes cupboard, kettle, tea, and coffee adequate for a comfortable stay. The beds were equipped with thermal blankets that kept us warm through the nights. Four rooms are in a self-contained building, complete with sitting and dining areas as well as a separate TV area. This is where we stayed and was quite close to the reception area. A fifth room is more secluded and offers more privacy. Three more rooms are in the main building that also houses the reception, dining, and kitchen.

The bathrooms were spacious, clean, and neat with clean toweling. It was equipped with hot and cold water as well as other toilette requirements.

The reception and dining areas were well equipped and tastefully furnished. We ordered each of our meals from a set menu. They were served with decorum and were tasty. Western and Eastern as well as Sri Lankan meals were available. Although there was no liquor, we could consume drinks that we brought along. WI-FI is available.

The staff that included the Training Manager Navod Fernando along with Muru, Ilango, Seelan and Tiron were helpful, courteous, attentive, and obliging attending to our smallest need. We were pampered during our stay. We do plan to return soon.

Only 6 months since their opening and I must say they doing really well. Since we are from the southern province, the whether was quiet a challenge for us. However, they patiently provided us with extra heaters despite having room heater and air heater on too. They have delicious mind blowing food.loved them soo much. We needed some changes in the menu as replacing bacon with tuna and vegetables with mashed potatoes. And they did those for us. Very happy with the food. Staff is very friendly too. Special thanks to Seelan and the kind lady at the reception. They provided us with excellent advice on when to visit Horton plains and also suggested to see sunrise which was so beautiful. An extra thank-you for that as well. A very nice experience. Will definitely stay here if we come again. Keep up the good work and all the best.

One of the beautiful places I have gone with best service!! Service we received made us wanted stay more and come again!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Of course the landscape is awesome special when sundown.. we were gifted with good weather and an amazing display of colors in the sky..
☀️
Architecture, loved it! Has that colonial feeling with fireplaces and tall ceiling with glass walls you always get to enjoy the view infront.. clear view of Sri Pada mountain..
⛰️

Food, yummier! Due to the current situation they have limited the menu but what they serve was good!! Try pink pasta n biriyani… and the pumpkin soup was soo good.. and all the meal I had ice cream with strawberries for desserts.. obviously 🍦🍓 They use produce from their own farm down the bungalow.. guess that’s the secret for good food and a good chef!
🍽️
Did I mention about the service? 😅 it was the highlight of our stay 😅not because they served us anything extra, but for their warm attitude for guests during the stay 🥰
👌🏽
Must visit and definitely going again!!!

We had an exceptional experience at The Plains Green Bungalow in Nuwara Eliya. The captivating ambiance, exceptional hospitality, and delectable cuisine made our stay truly unforgettable.💗

The beds were furnished with thermal blankets that provided cozy warmth during the nights. The bathrooms were spacious, impeccably clean, and stocked with fresh towels.

The culinary delight surpassed our expectations, with the use of ingredients sourced from their own garden. Additionally, the tractor tour of their fields offered a marvelous experience. There was a guider who clearly explained about their Strawberry farm too.

Special commendation goes to Mr. Ilango, whose support and friendliness throughout our stay were noteworthy.⭐️

A small suggestion for the management: Consider renewing the road near the hotel. Apart from that, everything else was superb.

Once again a big shout-out to the entire staff and management! Thank you.✨

Without a doubt, we look forward to returning. Highly recommended!!🫶🏻

Road, just around 50m is not good but can manage. The hotel has enough parking lots. Check-in and check-out were quick. The room and bathroom were clean. Fewer facilities in the room, the locker, room heater and wifi were not working. Views from the room and location are amazing. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staffs try to do their maximum to make their customers happy. Their hospitality was excellent

My wife and I visited the place in March I think. We got discount and the price was around LKR 25k, inclusive of all three meals. It is ala- cart and the food was delicious.
