Stayed here two nights to break the journey to New Orleans. Place was clean and had good quality accesories, but the 'cottage' needs some work, like painting doors, fixing taps etc. The 'cottage' is very tight for two people. The garden area at the back is very peaceful, don't forget the bug spray! The breakfast was as described, good quality... More

Prior to spending a few days at this guest cottage, I’d always assumed New Iberia could not be as breathtakingly beautiful as it’s described in James Lee Burke’s novels. Turns out it can. There’s really nothing like sitting out on a wooden front porch in Louisiana, listening to rain on the tin roof overhead, and watching a rainbow appear and... More

Cottage and grounds overlooking the bayou is fantastic. Breakfast provisions are ample, bedding can sleep 4, and the grounds are covered in wonderful large trees (live oaks) providing a great ambience and shady coverage of the property. You can walk into east main in 10 mins or so, and Patrice does well in giving an overview if the property and... More

What a great stay! Patrice took care of us and she was very attentive to our needs. Even reached out to us when there was a storm 9n the area to check on us :) provided a nice continental breakfast. The cabin was neat and clean. The cabin had a great feel to it. And the property was fantastic. Right... More

We were looking for a stopping point on our way through Louisiana and also wanted to visit the Tabasco bottling facility. Seeing that New Iberia was "right next door" I went to their web site and found a link to the B&B's in the area. One stood out over the rest; Bayou Teche Guest Cottage. Looking at the photos on... Bayou Teche Cottage was everything I hoped for and more. I traveled to New Iberia because I wanted to experience a Louisiana I had only read about. Yes, the trip was about writer James Lee Burke, but I loved southwest Louisiana well past the literary connection. The cottage is on property James Lee Burke’s grandfather once owned and offers a... We had a great time at the Bayou Teche Cottage. Check-in could not be easier. Gayle was very polit and easy to work with and catered to our needs nicely. She had check in all set up for us when we showed up, and on the hot summer day I was cool as soon as we entered the cabin. I... More

A cozy cabin in a park at Teche river. The only cabin on site. Very peaceful. Fine bedroom and bath. Living room with kitchenette with microwave and seating. Small outdoor porch and garden table. We stayed in the cottage for 3 nights and ate our breakfast outside in the stunning parkland with river views. It's a real feel-good place. It's... More

This guest cottage is on a beautiful property in a quaint town. The cottage is comfortable and very nice.It is within walking distance to the downtown area of New Iberia and The Shadows Plantation. The hostess-Gayle, provides a wonderful breakfast and is very familiar with the area. She can help you decide what to see and where to eat. I... More

After reading the rave reviews we decided to stay at the Guest Cottage. We were disappointed. Yes Gayle is a very nice person. She is casual and laid back. Maybe she should be a little less laid back when it comes to maintaining the Guest Cottage. It is rustic and old - which I know is supposed to be part... More
