We spent 3 nights there. Staff was extremely kind, really customer oriented. Lunch there was excellent, though a bit pricey (60€ 2 persons, 1 starter to share, 2 main dishes, 1 dessert, 1 coffee, 1 bottle of wine and 1 of water) Unfortunately, the hotel was not as good as they were: - Room was cold. Heaters only worked some hours and not all night long - Maintenance was missing. Some things, like the trim of the slot to connect the electricity with a card was missing. Same with the thermostat wheel, or with the shower/bathtub selector, those were missing as well - Only one glass in the bath. - No shelf in the bath to leave the toilet bag - Room was in the ground floor, facing the alley, so we couldn't pull the curtains - Mattress was old-style, with springs... A bit uncomfortable - Old CRT TV with DVB adapter (2 remotes) - Breakfast was quite standard Anyway, it's not that expensive so if you are on a budget, it is a good option

but the adjacent restaurant is open! Wonderful views. We had our lunch outside, enjoying the excellent weather. It can be quite a tortuous journey - fine for the passengers but not so for the driver! It is well worth the trip - Almurena speaks English and is most attentive. Other staff also make the effort to use some English and make you welcome. A party of 64 arrived so the restaurant must be popular with the locals, too.

Staff seemed friendly enough, room was very large, warm and clean and freshly painted, but in comparison with other places we stayed in around the region, for the same price (which was very reasonable) the bed was not really acceptable. VERY basic mattress - we simply cannot believe that all those famous Spanish politicians have slept in those same beds as us! Perhaps they slept elsewhere and just ate here. Overall not bad, but food not that great, breakfast again very basic. They really ought to understand the log fire - it was cold and raining and it would have been 100% nicer in the restaurant if it had been roaring - NO EXCUSE letting the logs get wet!!!!! (I'd arrange tables for 2 around it, especially as they were obviously quiet and should be trying to encourage guests to stay for dinner ). If the owners have time to get to Baeza, I'd recommend they have a chat with the owners of Hostal Aznaitin. I wouldn't recommend simply because for me a comfortable bed is the most important thing.
