At least the bed was comfy for me! But the "do not drink the tap water" sign in the bathroom was a little worrying! I have never come across this before in the UK. The mandated fee for the internet and the gym was a little disappointing as well. That plus the paper thin walls in the bedrooms, the never...

Arrived at check in and was asked to pay up front for the room. Most hotels I stay in just ask for credit card details and the bill is settled at check out. Did wonder if I looked the type of person who is in the habit of doing 'a runner'!!! Room was clean. Tea and coffee facilities were poor....

Stayed here over a weekend as part of a tour group. The hotel has fallen into the clutches of the Britannia group and for those familiar with them then this one is better than most. Hotel is chalet style situated unobtrusively between Hook and Basingstoke. Well positioned for those travelling by car but marooned if you are in a coach....

I had high hopes of this hotel when I booked to stay 3 nights for a business trip, Unfortunately, it started with not being able to identify the entrance from the road in the dark - some lights showing where the entrance is to aid drivers would be good. I had some issues when I checked in regarding wifi access...

Having recently stayed at the Country Hotel, I feel I should add my comments to the reviews already made. It is a very tired looking hotel, that is in need of a major make over, including decoration, new furniture, both in the public and the bedrooms. The bar area does not allow you to charge items to you rooms, so...

I recently stayed for four nights at this hotel. After reading the reviews, I was rather apprehensive about what to expect. On arrival, the hotel looks nice. I didn't expect luxury, as I hadn't payed for it. Ok, the decor in some places does need touching up, but I didn't book a stay to admire the decor, I just needed...

I was attending a wedding down the road, so stayed here with my partner. I was part of the bridal party so was busy all day, my partner was attending later so I asked him to check in for me. I called in advance to let the hotel know and sent him the booking confirmation. However, I still received a...
