Stayed one night at the Coushatta Grand Hotel in Kinder, on our drive from Horseshoe / Bossier City to the Golden Nugget / Lake Charles. Got to stay in the Hotel this time! We usually get a room in the Inn or 7 Clans. They are ok, but the Grand was much nicer, and closer to the Casino. The rooms are comped, so I shouldn't complain. A security guard checks your temperature and makes sure you have a mask, when checking in. Looks like they keep a count of people entering and exiting the Casino. Evidently you were not required to wear a mask while playing in the Casino. I would say about even - 50% with and without masks. Some of the other Casinos we played at required you wear the masks. We always wear ours for our safety. Didn't see anyone winning a jackpot while we were there. We won a little. We had burger, fries, and a Dr. Pepper at the 165 Diner Wednesday night. And breakfast at the Terrace Café Thursday morning, which is located the old Buffet area now. That place has been remolded. We were told the Buffet will not be opening back up for about 2 years. There are no more SENIOR SPECIALS on the menu. We have to pay for a larger meal we can't finish. Wasted food! Great service at the Terrace Café! The hot dog place has no seating there. Take your food and head to your room. Didn't try the other food place there. Very limited places to eat in.

The sanitizer wipes they are handing out has mold in in i cant believe that the state allow them to open then when we went to restaurant to eat open up a wipe to clean counter it was dry so they just putting out stuff for show and its not even stuff thats good this stuff must be from 2000s to have black stuff inside of it. Next staying at the property theres not hot water and night or in the am when called saying they dont have no one in maintenance wow

We used to like Coushatta but they are under new management and the place was like a ghost town. The machines are tight not too many people were winning. They do have many new machines. About the new tax, from what I understand cause no one could explain as to why an Indian reservation would have a 7pct tax its called a "Tribal Tax". Coushatta now add this 7pct tax to all hotel rooms and Feather Fuel conveinence store purchases. You can feel a different vibe and its not good. Employees are nice but you can tell they are not too happy with all the changes. Somehow the new management has got this all wrong..If it ain't broke don't fix it. I assume that since the casino is not doing so well they decided to add this Tribal tax to generate income. I would not make the 45 minutes extra drive into Kinder and just stay at Lauberge or Golden Nugget. You are probably better off unless you play the tables games. I would advise you stay away.

As seniors it’s fun to go on double dates. We live in Houston area & drove over to Coushatta Casino with our best friends. We had such a great time at The Grand. It’s the casino newest hotel & boy did the rooms exceed my expectations! King standard room was large. Desk area, lounge chair & table. Bedding was Devine. Stunning decor, wonderful rain shower. Well appointed coffee/microwave/refrigerator area. Plus in lobby added Starbucks! This girl very happy. Now if only I won a little, 😔 Not disappointed, we had fun, relaxing night.

The rooms, the gambling area, the food, the servers and hotel staff, all were Very Good. We were there during Hurricane Imelda and had to stay an extra night due to the bad weather and the highway being closed. The hotel comped our entire stay
