Absolutely the best way to see Southern Hospitality and Charm. Judge T Ellender and his wife Deb make you feel at home while creating a uniquely Southern Plantation experience. The rooms blend the old and the new resulting in a simply elegent stay. Tall ceilings, wooden floors and solid beds reflect old southern charm while modern world air conditioning, WiFi, TV... More

We have friends in Houma who booked us a night here during our week long trip. So far it's been the best part. The suite was so comfortable and private. The hot tub outside the room...a great touch. The property is exquisite. Our friends joined us for breakfast and Chris very kindly treated all of us like family. I cannot... More

Four of us received a warm welcome & a cold beer, then a tour of the beautiful garden. Tim & staff were very busy, but took time to carry our bags up and visit with us. Breakfast was fresh fruit, juice, delicious bread, flan, sausage from Jacob's, and Tim's super pain perdu, artfully presented. They present all that's charming about... More

This B&B is everything that you want in a B&B.... beautiful house and grounds, lovely rooms with antiques and comfy furniture, WiFi, TV and all that, and, of course, yummy and generous breakfasts. But the very best part was the owners - what a couple of hot tickets - really! They were fun, interesting and down to earth and above... More

Having spent three days at Grand Bayou Noir (GBN) in the secluded and well-appointed suite, my wife and I would thank Tim and Debra for their genuine hospitality in being treated like family and old friends. The house and gardens provided an idyllic venue for surprising culinary experiences. Breakfasts were a delight, fruit followed by a cooked plate washed down... More

Here comes the judge! After driving through an endless downpour on I-10, we were met at the door by retired judge Timothy Ellender. What a relief and what a welcome! He and his artistic wife, Debbie, have created an oasis of southern hospitality in the middle of Cajun country. It is a large and beautiful, old home with antique furnishings,... More

Spent one night at the Grand Bayou and just wish it could have been longer. From the moment we arrived we could not have been made to feel more welcome. The property is stunning, set in lush vegetation, the perfect distance from New Orleans for exploring the Bayou and plantations. This place cannot come highly recommended enough, just make sure... Absolutely charming. Mr. Timmy is a wonderful and charming host, and he can serve up a breakfast that included grapefruit that he picked himself that morning. His beautiful home is surrounded by lush vegetation and stately live oak. There's also an outdoor hot tub to take away the tensions of the day. Our room was comfortable and clean. Would definitely... A picturesque setting with astonishing gardens! The owners are justifiably proud of their home. From the moment guests arrive, they are made to feel welcome and special. A walk around the grounds is a treat. In addition to lush plants and flowers of all sorts, there are fruit trees -- bananas, grapefruit, oranges, lemons, limes -- and chickens. Breakfast was... We booked at the Grand Bayou Noir because we liked the pictures on their website. We were not disappointed. The house is lovely and the suite we stayed in was beautiful. Everything was just the way it was shown on the site, well presented, maintained and just right. The hot tub was fantastic. The best part though is the owners,... More
