It is far from French Quarter, at least not walking distance. Rooms need maintainability, mainly in bathrooms. No safe box, no body wash. There is a refrigerator and microwave in the rooms. Full restaurant but not great. The hoyel is good though.
We arrived early on a Friday and our room was already ready and reserved for us. The unique shape of the building makes for a nice room experience. We had a view over the city but the noise was negligible. Restaurant/Bar was quiet but served good food and drinks. We safely left the car there for a week while we cruised. It was a 5 minute Uber to the port.

Two stars might be a little harsh, as the price was reasonable, our bedroom was fine and the front desk personnel were friendly, but there were several small issues that left us disappointed overall. Anyone with claustrophobia should steer clear of the bathroom; we actually hated how tiny the toilet/tub section was, and there seemed to be plenty of room to have planned the layout differently. We had 2 meals in the restaurant. Dinner was so-so; there was plenty of food but it was just blah, and my friend and I both agreed that the sauce on the chicken alfredo didn't taste like any alfredo sauce we've ever had. The breakfast buffet was definitely not worth $11; it was no better than many free hotel breakfasts. The bedroom temperature control was confusing to us, since there was a wall thermostat with controls plus a radiator with controls under the window, but we finally figured it out through trial and error. At check-out, there was a problem with our bill that the first staff member didn't seem to care about, until a second staff member stepped in. All in all, our one night there just didn't provide the pleasant, stress-free experience that we expect from a hotel.…
I've past by this hotel many times over the years but never thought I'd be staying there. What a pleasant surprise. Being an older property was much better than I thought. My room was nice and roomy with a nice view of the expressway. Lobby was nice and comfortable. Check in was very good. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area. It's very close to the new Orleans business district and the s of bourbon street.
We had a fab room, shaped like a trivial pursuit wedge. Plenty of room for all three of us. The restaurant was excellent value but being British they struggled to understand our accents! The only disappointing bit was the pool, it looked run down and definitely not a place for a child. Sadly she was desperate to go in. Oh well.
First, I’d like to say the staff was excellent and extremely helpful. Shaynette was amazing. I wish every hotel service desk attendant was as happy, friendly, and as personable as her. She deserves a raise! The hotel was nice and clean. It’s not as modern as some Holiday Inn’s but that’s not a bad thing. Breakfast was as expected. The outside of the building looks a little more run down that I expected but the lights at night are pretty! The structure of the hotel was unique. We enjoyed our stay here and would stay there again. It was completely worth the price that we paid for the stay and cruise option. We came back to a safe, untouched car!
We stayed here because we were leaving the next day on a cruise. It was located a short distance from the port, downtown, and the French Quarter. They also provided free parking while we were on the cruise. It was clean and the staff was helpful.
When we arrived our reservation was somehow cancelled and the customer service representative, April, was able to find it and check us in. She was patient, professional and efficient. Brianisha was also very helpful in answering and questions we had during our stay. Ms. Lois, Jennifer and Dawn provided excellent customer service each day of our stay as we began each morning eating breakfast in the restaurant. I highly recommend this Holiday Inn!
Made reservations on the road. Once we entered we regretted it as we heard the front desk lady being rude to an elderly man. The rooms are dated, parking is tough. We stopped at a holiday in express in Texas and it was much nicer!
