Detailed Reviews

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at little river bluffs. The property was beautiful and very well maintained. Blaine went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed every moment. The little details make LRB unique; from the diffused essential oils to the thoughtfully planned scenic views.
Would highly recommend! A lovely get away an hour from New Orleans that feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Two cons to note:
The king sized bed in the Meadow Cabin is actually two twin beds pushed together. We chose to sleep on the futon our second night and were much more comfortable.
I think that the rates were representative of the property but the $100 add on cleaning fee felt steep.
We will be back!

Walking into this property was magical. The electric fireplaces were on, the TV was on and playing Christmas music, the dining room Christmas tree was lit up, and the view through the big windows to the outside was stunning. The pictures do not do this place justice as it is definitely nicer inside than pictured.
Downstairs boasts a bunkroom that is perfect for the kids. There is a nice dining area, a beautiful remodeled kitchen area and a large living area with beautiful large windows. Downstairs also has the full bath area which has a tub and a shower.
Upstairs has a loft king bedroom with a mini electric fireplace, and also across the walkway is another two twin beds with a scenic view to outside and the living area below. There is also a half bath upstairs which is convenient for those middle of the night trips to the bathroom.
The town of Covington and Folsom is just a short drive away. We chose to go into Folsom and eat at Gus's which has some of the best down home cooking that we have eaten. There is also Tessier Gourmet foods next door to the restaurant which has many fully prepped take out dishes that you can prepare at home.
Last but not least, the owners were very friendly and accommodating. We did not need anything during our stay but we did call when we left a little earlier than check out, so that housekeeping could come in.
I would highly recommend a stay at Little River Bluffs. We absolutely loved the River Chalet Cabin that we were in.

Cabin and surrounding area was beautiful! It was an unusually cold weekend and river was flooded, so we can't wait to go back when it is warmer and we can enjoy the outdoor activities. The cabin felt like it was your home, with anything you could possibly need. Blaine's hospitality was incredible and he even loaded us up with extra wood for the wood burning stove.

If you have stayed at this retreat in the past please read the updated "day use" policy. If you have a family member or friend visit you at the cabin during the day you will be charged $25.00 per guest, even if they don't spend the night. And believe me, they are watching and counting. I realize they are trying to offset people booking for fewer guests and having extra people spend the night. But even if the guests don't spend the night and maintain a retreat environment the owners will charge $25.00 per person for day use. Nice grounds but the day use charge is excessive! Kyakas and river toys are in need of attention!

Wonderful place in the woods to getaway from the city and get into nature. The Meadow Cabin was clean and had all the amenities needed. The AC worked fine. Patio was nice and has ceiling fans. The pond and creek are beautiful. Fished but caught nothing. Bring plenty of mosquito spray. Off the path trails were nice. Saw few snakes and a deer. They have a bicycle shack to borrow a bike and bike around the trails which was nice. There is a swimming pool which is owned by original owner of land but you have to book with him in one hour increments (no issues doing this and he was very nice to talk to).

I have stayed at Little River Bluffs many times and always will. If you love being surrounded by nature and great hosts this is the place for you. Loretta prepared the Meadow Cabin for me at the last minute. Upon arrival the cabin was cool and the essential oils sent a calming effect as I entered the doorway. There were fresh flowers to greet me as well. There are many fun activities as well. It's the best of two worlds.

I booked the River Chalet as a recommendation from a friend who had stayed here. We were not disappointed! The place is so serene and beautiful! Its surrounded by woods all around, the nighttime sounds were so peaceful! The hosts have done a great job with the place to make it comfy. Blaine drove by to say hi to us and give recommendations as well.
The Chalet is right next to the river, so perfect to sit by and watch in the mornings/evenings. The river is shallow (knee high), so kids enjoyed playing in it too!
There is a small pond on the property that we used the pedalboat on, and plenty of lawn games. The hiking trails are well kept.
Hard to vacation in these times, but places like these make taking time off worth it! Would definitely recommend highly!

As soon as I pulled up I was in love with this place. My wife and two kids 7/9 had a great stay. The owners are wonderful and the River Chalet was so awesome! We will definitely be back. We went horseback riding nearby first and ended the trip at the Global Wildlife center on a private tour which was so cool! 1 hour away from NOLA. Can't beat it!

Our family enjoyed our short, quiet getaway to Little River Bluffs. The views overlooking the river were calming. Our bedroom felt like we were sleeping amongst the trees. We look forward to returning soon!
