I can't speak highly enough o Bich and Ben's operation. We stayed 3 nights in their Little Lies villa with our 18 and 16yr old sons in order to join the Oxalis Rat Cave tour. Villa was very spacious, comfortable and cool with its own infinity pool and plenty of outdoor shade. Public areas were clean, well-designed and full of interesting nick backs to add charming character to the place. Restaurant menu was a broad mix of local and international foods and all well prepared and tasty! (WiFi good throughout!) All-in-all Farmstay was a fabulous, relaxed place to chill and get to witness some of rural Vietnam in great company. Am so glad Ben and Bich, their family and staff have survived through COVID and come out the other side with a very special place to stay.
What a perfect location to experience the natural wonders of this magic area. Even prior to our arrival at the Farmstay, Long & Mai’s online personal and super responsive communication ensured our holiday would be one to fondly remember. The accommodation (luxury Villa) was just superb for our family of six. Everything we asked for was provided. From extra bedding, motorbike hire (3x), tours, local recommendations…you name it. Even more memorable was the care Ben and his wife have invested into the local culture of this beautiful community. The Farmstay is terrific value with a generous choice of food, drinks and fun. Highly recommend!
We spent 2 nights at the Farmstay during our backpacking trip in Vietnam. The team were welcoming, the food was excellent and the stunning setting made for an authentic and relaxing experience. The Farmstay also organised many cave tours and we selected one with activities like zip lining and mud bathing with other young backpackers staying in Phong Nah. Additionally, as part of a transfer to Hue we joined their tour of the demilitarised zone. A free shuttle bus was available for a short drive into the town and in they evenings we enjoyed a sunset ride in a jeep and a sidecar around the fields. We met families, solo travellers and other backpackers, so a great place for all. Overall, our favourite stop so far. Thank you to everyone who looked after us!
This was possibly our favourite hotel ever! We were upgraded to one of the Victory Villas, which was gorgeous, with lovely additional features and little details (the least of which was not the private pool). But our favourite part was the restaurant and main pool area which is a beautiful setting as well as functional for families like ours. The shallow water is not the end of a larger pool but a separate and adjoining pool. (See photo). This means we could have eyes on the small (non-swimmer, 5yo) child in the shallow pool as well the bigger kid in the large pool simultaneously without necessarily having to be in the water ourselves. And since you are in still within the open-air restaurant area, you can do this while simultaneously eating your dinner and enjoying the stunning views of the rice fields, water buffalos, and mountains in the distance. We spent HOURS there, with the grownups also taking a quick dip in between courses enjoyed in our swimsuits :) Although the restaurant service was a bit slow, the food is delicious and the menu includes some regional specialties. The hotel’s amenities need some love, and the draught beer is not yet available, though presumably they will get these things going as Vietnam continues to reopen to international tourism. (My husband wants me to add they do have some craft beer available). The hotel was so great at helping to organize tours of the region. Some tours and attractions are still not yet available thanks to COVID, but staff helped us sort out modified tours and private arrangements as needed, and we were never bored. Thanks to Phong Nha Farmstay for an amazing experience!…
We stayed 2 nights. The crew is so welcoming and the view on rice crops is really relaxing next to the large pool. Beautiful decorations from Asian sculptures all over - really charming. Excellent bed and large room (1st floor). They have cycles and motorcycles ready for your trip to the caves at 15 min ride. The chef prepares delicate food on the instant that you enjoy next to pool. Highly recommended
When I told a friend that my family and I were going to Phong Nha national park he told me that we just had to stay at Phong Nha Farmstay. He couldn't fully explain why, but said something about there being a lot to do and his room being upgraded. As I trusted his judgement I went ahead and made a booking. When we reached the farmstay I completely saw why we should stay there. As well as there being things to do every day and our room being upgraded we were made to feel so at home. Ben, Bich and their wider family are so friendly, open-minded and down to earth. Everyone who stays there is pretty much taken into their family whilst they are there. In our three nights we visited two caves, went on a history walk, had lunch at a farm, went out for pizza night, had a ride in a side car. All of this was through the farmstay. I would like to return and would certainly recommend the farmstay to anyone else!…
The first time I went to Phong Nha Farmstay was December 2015. I stayed for about 3 weeks at the farmstay and enjoyed every minute of it. I returned again in February 2021 for a few days and was taken aback by how much the place had been built up. While they have added onto the land quite a bit, it still had all the charm it did in 2015. Many of the same staff ( from 2015) still work at the location, which is a testament to the owners of the farmstay. They really make you feel like you are family at the location. I would highly recommend anyone passing the Phong Nha , to stop by and stay a few days at this farmstay. sidenote- Make sure to book your cave tours and jeep tours through them!
We arrived to the Farmstay at the end of July 2020 after two months travelling Northern Vietnam. We planned to stay one month, and ended up out there four months. We stayed because we loved it. There is so much to do out there. Trips and activities and people and the pool make this a great place for families. There is no end to the adventure. There are still many things we would like to go back and do. Ben and Bich took such great care of us. We enjoyed the food. We loved going on the tours to places like The Pub with Cold Beer and Moi Moi. The motorbike rides around the national park were amazing. We learned so much on these tours. We explored caves and went on boat tours. It was so much fun. I could happily go there to spend another month or two!! Backstory: We had initially planned to head back to Hoi An to rest for a while, but a Covid outbreak made us rethink our plan. We opted to stay at the Farmstay for one month (we stayed in the Gypsy villa, Jungaloo Collection for the month of August). At the end of August, I had nothing planned and we were still enjoying our time out in Phong-Nha. We were conscious that the typhoon season was approaching and chose to move to the Elements Villas down the road. They were a bit further from the river and higher up. September rolled into October and the typhoons arrived. We kept delaying our departure and experienced a flood of biblical proportions (6m high). Fortunately, our villa stayed dry. Ben visited us on the boat (the roads were under water). We have epic tales from our time at the Farmstay. The people there make this place magical. I cannot recommend it enough. Please go whenever you visit Vietnam. You won't be disappointed!!…
Phong Nha Farmstay is an amazing place. Watching the sunset over the rice paddies each night is breathtaking and soothes the soul. Ben and Bich are great hosts. The food is amazing! If you’re in Vietnam make your way to the Farmstay and you will not be disappointed.
We self drove from Hanoi to Hoi An and back - stayed both ways - very comfortable and nice welcoming atmosphere - loved it - is perfectly located for the drive to central Vietnam - highly recommended - plenty of accommodation options from rooms to villas - can do a number of side trips to Khe Sanh and other places either by car or with Motorcycle
