We, Ben and Bich, had an epiphany to start a tourism business in the middle of nowhere and ourfamily and the rest of the community thought we were mad. Now half of them think it was their idea. Our Mission statement was to create what we'd want if we were on holiday, in this then remote and still beautiful region of northern central Vietnam. Comfortable beds, nice views, a swimming pool, full bar, tasty food and top quality tours/activities. Winning formula, so we thought! We get a lot of customers looking for something different to a backpacker hostel scene, but with a fun atmosphere. Not a Vietnamese hotel atmosphere either. Something unique. Something for everybody. Immerse yourself in the magic of remote rural Vietnam, between the coast and the mountains, in the northern Central region just now being discovered by mainstream tourism. Take yourself on a trip into a photographer's paradise. Our French Colonial style accommodation, set in the idyllic surroundings of rice paddy fields on the edge of the famous Phong Nha-Ke Bang World Heritage National Park just off the Ho Chi Minh Trail, is the ideal base for wild adventures that you have only dreamed about... or simply take time to experience the local village life or chill by the pool. There are many tour and do it yourself options to keep you busy for a few days. Send us an email for more information.

We stayed at the Farmstay for 5 nights. After being highly recommended by friends the Farmstay exceeded our expectations. From arriving and receiving a wonderful warm welcome, the wonderful accomodation, extensive menu and facilities the Farmstay did not disappoint.
We had a family room which included a king-size bed, single bed and bunk beds. The bathroom was modern and in room facilities included a TV and dvd player with extensive folder of dvds for all ages. A water dispenser is outside the room and the Farmstay has a wonderful environmental approach to no single use practice and water is served in wine and spirit bottles which our children found highly entertaining.
The staff were all incredibly helpful. Ben and his family have a wonderful presence and work extremely hard to establish a wonderfully relaxing ambience.
We ate at the Restaurant for the 5 evenings we stayed, finding plenty of choice including vegetarians and fussy children. They have a number of specials which appear to change regularly- everyone enjoyed the Sunday Roast, Shepherds Pie and Aussie Meat pie.
A noticeboard is regularly updated to include activities and specials etc. We were also added to a Facebook page which Ben updated with trips and requests etc.
We were able to hire motorbikes, use the free bicycles and took 2 tours with the Farmstay.
It was a truly wonderful holiday which we all enjoyed greatly and was definitely as a direct result of the high quality service, provision and hospitality of everyone at the Farmstay. We are already planning to return. 😊

Thanks for taking the time to review. It means a lot to the team to read your appraisal. It has been a tough year - The Covid pandemic shutting down the inbound tourism industry, over 12 months ago now - The periodic shut downs to the domestic tourism industry caused when ever a case of Covid is found in the country. - The floods. I still don't want to talk about the floods. Thanks for the positive feedback on the old tripadvisor. Thanks from the whole team.

My girlfriend and I stayed for 2 nights, and had a fantastic time. We visited Phong Nha cave, Paradise cave, the botanical garden and the Bong Lai valley. We really enjoyed the atmosphere at the Farmstay, especially sitting around the fireplace in the evenings chatting with the other guests, and the local food. There are a lot nice extra touches like the morning village walk and cave history talk, free bicycles for getting to town, help with booking tours around the national park etc.

We particularly liked the advice in booking tours, we wouldn’t have considered the motorbike ride around the park but it was one of the highlights of the trip. Also would recommend the Bamboo pork at Moi Moi and the Duck stop (all within easy reach)

My wife and I toured Vietnam for a month. Our trip included the major east coast cities. But we also wanted a rural experience. Our four days at the Farmstay was that and so much more. The lodge is situated on the perimeter of the Phong Nha National park and literally in the middle of a small farming community. The view from the room is of green green rice fields with Karst mountains in the distance. The sunsets are amazing. Not only is the lodge physically part of the community but it is integrated into the economy and development of the community in a very positive way. For visitors there is plenty to do. The cave system is the largest in the world and some of the most beautiful caves are easily accessible with lighting and secure walkways. There are plenty of organized trips to the more remote caves for those interested. All trips are arranged by the lodge and are hassle free. We enjoyed bike riding, hiking, and kayaking as well. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The grounds have beautiful gardens. A swimming pool and sauna were great at the end of the day. The dinners were a fabulous opportunity to meet guests from all over the world and the food could not be better. Everyother night was chefs table where all of the vegetables are grown from the local farm. The staff accomodated those with special diets- vegetarian, gluten free, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful, especially Sau. Many of them have strong family ties to the local village. We took advantage of the morning lecture about the Vietnam war and specifically the Ho Chi Minh trail which coursed through the national park. Lastly, we enjoyed movie night- watching Forrest Gump under the stars was an unforgetable experience. Kudos to Ben for making his dream a reality and sharing it with the us. Cannot recommend this farmstay enough.

We stayed Oct22 which was low season and rain affected the trips you can do but the family run hotel is an idyllic place to stay with high quality food and attention to detail in the rooms and the communal areas. They made sure we felt welcomed and all the staff speak good English. They helped arrange trips and are conscientious about helping the local community have a share in tourism.

The staff where welcoming and efficient but also relaxed and friendly. So they got things done but also found out what we where interested in and organised things for us to do.
The kitchens menu had a mix of standard and Vietnamese selections. We try to eat locally when we travel but sometimes we just felt like a big juicy burger. In our 5 days we never got a bad meal.
We stayed in a family room. It could sleep 5 people comfortably with a good sized bathroom as well.
There are 2 pools, a pool table, a fire pit (seasonal), oversized chess set, a small gym, bored/card games, projector screen (on request), and a SAUNA! If you get bored it is your own fault.

This place really does feel like heaven.

I write this review just a couple of hours after leaving and although we’re very sad at the moment, I think we all know that we’ll definitely be back here again.

After reading many reviews from people saying that they felt 2 or 3 days wasn’t enough time to stay here, we felt like 7 days wasn’t long enough, therefore we ended up staying another 3 days extra.

With so many incredible caves nearby as well as a great amount of history, you’re really in a great location here.

We arrived later in the evening on our first night and from that moment on, we knew that we were onto something special. They called us before arriving to see if we’d like something cooked in the kitchen before it closes. (Nice touch guys)

That set the tone for our entire stay. Ben (host and owner) welcomed us in the best way possible. On our first morning, he took us for a drive showing us around the gorgeous countryside whilst taking us out for a coffee. Then every evening he’d join our table in the restaurant and help organise our plans for the following day, not only proposing several suggestions but also making the necessary plans for us too.

The restaurant at the Farmstay was a huge success. Not just for serving some fantastic meals in the evening but also having a delicious and wide range of breakfast options. Far too many good ones to mention but I have included some photos.

The rooms were another success. Loads of space with my partner and I having our own separate bathroom each. The beds were super comfy and the AC worked a charm. As a complete surprise, we were treated to staying in one of their new special suites for a few days. This almost brought tears to our eyes, especially when we saw the actually suites. I won’t spoil any surprises here but I think they are going to be very popular, these are a whole new level of luxury living.

Other honourable mentions. Bich (hostess and owner) who was so nice to us and always had so many suggestions for things that we could do. Also Maya (receptionist and so much more) was lovely to us from start to finish and couldn’t have been more helpful. One last shout out about the bar, restaurant and pool areas. These were an absolute delight, especially during sunset. You can see why many come here just for this.

Thank you very much guys for being wonderful hosts and for supplying some of the best customer service we’ve ever experienced. Keep up the great work and we will see you again soon.

Had a great stay here, room was lovely, well laid out and clean, pool and restaurant beautiful, staff friendly and accommodating, Ben and Bich the owners made you feel welcome and made every effort to spend a little time to chat with their guests, have a lovely fire that all the guest can sit round at night and share stories if you want to. Bikes available to cycle round the area and village, great safe area and so so pretty a real tast of local life as off the beaten track. They also have a upmarket hotel in the town if you want something special and a couple of villas next door as well, also have homestays with the local villages, helping the villages earn a living, whatever you need Ben and Bich have got something to offer.

For practical reasons, we were staying in town of Phong Nha and we went to the Farmstay couple of times to enjoy the pool, food and mostly beautiful view/scenery. They have daily free shuttles that pick you up from Victory Road Villas at 4 pm to enjoy your time then take the shuttle back afterwards or they arrange a taxi service. Ben and his team are really great: He knows Phong Nha inside and out and is an amazing source of information and recommendation for things to do. Saturday nights, they have live music band and it is a lot of fun! Thanks and see you soon.

My wife and I stayed at the Phong Nha farmstay for two nights from 16th of Feb 2023.

We booked the trip online and communicated through emails. The staff were helpful, quick at responding, and organised our transfer from the airport, all went well.

From arrival to departure we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the farmstay. The hosts Ben and Bick and their staff are exceptionally friendly and welcoming. In a way, it was like we have known them for a very long time. If our trip would have allowed it, we would have loved to stay for longer. It was like home from home.

We had a deluxe double room which was large, clean and comfortable. The bed had a full mosquito net round, just in case you let any of those pesky little things in. During our stay we didn’t see any.

Due to our limited time we didn’t get to use the recreational facilities like the pool, pool table and sauna. The pool has a bar and nice seating area and sun-bed area to relax. With great views over the surrounding area.

We did frequent the lounge and dinning area, which was lovely area to relax, with a log fire, enjoy breakfasts and meals not to forget a cocktail or three.

Food on offer catered for both eastern and western appetites. Vietnamese dishes, pizzas, burgers, and a breakfast fry up.

While staying I chose to go to paradise cave and do a 4km walk into the cave, which was a great experience. My wife chose to have a massage at the farmstay which she thoroughly enjoyed.

We booked our next travel down to Hue in a private car through the farmstayThe driver will take us to visit various sites along the way. The hosts arranged for the transport, recommended a hotel to stay, called the hotel in Hue and arranged everything for us, it was so nice of them to do so.

So now we are on our way to Hue, For those that are from England it’s pronounced like “whey” up man. I think the Jordies must of emigrated there.

Can’t recommend staying at the Phng Nha farmstay enough, loved the place, loved the staff, and of course loved the hosts Ben and Bick who we would like to thank for the exceptional hospitality, for the conversations, the history, the stories, and just the overall memories we have taken away with us

During September I was recuperating from a leg injury and needed somewhere flat and with a pool. I already live not far away and had visited for meals and the odd overnight stay during the summer. I was lucky enough to enjoy one of the modern pool villas and got a great deal on a 'longer term' stay. The beds are of the comfiest and I defy anyone not to get a good night's sleep. Bathrooms have been designed well and some pool villas have a bath which are fantastic. The staff are excellent, the food fantastic and they have everything you need for a relaxing or active stay. The owners go out of their way to make sure there is enough choice to suit most, whether you want an afternoon safari or a motorbike ride round the national park. Visits to local farm to table eateries were the best lunch stops and if you're the sociable type there is opportunity to meet with others. It's also a great place to get some rest and relaxation and it is very hard to leave. They are open all year round and have all types of accomodation to suit various budgets and group sizes. Highly recommended.

Hi Melinda. The Dark Cave can be a bit much for really small kids. They don't take kids under 5, and the zipline has a weight limit of 40-90kg. Those that can't zipline get to do some extra kayaking. The Farmstay is a GREAT place for kids, they really enjoy it. We have the pool, kids sized bikes and plenty of places to explore. I would recommend coming to Phong Nha and we can ensure that the activities that you do are suitable for your son when we meet him! There is so much on offer. Please drop us an email and we will send you a free of charge no obligation information pack about the area. There are loads of tours that are suitable for children and all the details are included in the info pack.

Hi Angel, Phong Nha Farmstay is about 8km away from Phong Nha cave, so you can cycle to Phong Nha Village in about 45 minutes or in about 15 minutes by car. But we are about 33km away from Thien Duong Cave, so you can go by car to Thien Duong cave in an hour. Farmstay Team.
