Great location in Villa (not Arnos Vale) with friendly staff and really comfy beds but nowhere to dry anything even towels and if the shower is turned on too much, it floods the whole room. The menu doesn’t seem to change which is a bit of a pain if you’re staying more than a week.
Also I paid extra for an ocean view room but my room whilst having a view of the ocean in one direction looked directly onto the restaurant area. At least a garden room would look into the pool and give some privacy. I have to say I was really disappointed. I had room 26.

The hotel is right on the pristine beach with a great view of the sunset. There are other hotels and restaurants in the area that you can walk to along the beach and the beach boardwalk so you can go exploring too.

Our room was remodeled since our last visit. It has a nice new look to it. I checked out some of the other rooms and there are now some nice handicapped rooms. The dining areas and grounds also have a facelift. New chef has started 3 new tasty buffets. - barbeque, fish and breakfast. It has been a while since we visited last, but the staff remembered us and greeted us warmly.

St Vincent just got easier to access since American flies there from Miami twice a week (Wednesday and Saturday) - much easier than going through Barbados.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at Sunset Shores and thank you for being a repeat customer. We appreciate the feedback that you have shared with us. More than half of the rooms have been completely remodeled so far. All rooms have been upgraded with luxurious Eurotop mattresses and linens, plush towels, and 40" flat screen TVs with cable service. We will complete renovations to the remaining bathrooms in the coming months. As you noted, our culinary experience has also been remodeled. Unfortunately, our buffets have been temporarily suspended but the dining experience will continue to be extremely satisfying. Our chefs focus on using the freshest of ingredients, tempting your taste pallet by layering local and international flavours, and textures, and complete the experience with creative plating presentations. The pool courtyard which provides direct access to Villa Beach has been upgraded with comfortable sun loungers and dining sets. The pool bar and grill (now called Vitamin Sea) had been used to host the Wednesday Night Caribbean BBQ, Friday night happy hour and Saturday Seafood Buffet. Because the court yard area is so spacious, we will be resuming happy hours on Wednesday and Friday nights with a new snack menu, with tables placed at a distance in keeping with social distancing requirements that we are all dealing with today. Our full menu is also available. The more formal dining area located upstairs near reception and the lounge has been renamed Epiphany. Both restaurants/bars remain open during these difficult times to our guests and to our local Vincy patrons. Room service and take-out service is also available. While international flights have been suspended, we look forward to the day when jets will resume their direct routes from Miami, New York and Toronto. We were hoping to get news of direct flights from the UK and some European destinations, but those plans have been put on hold for now. Sunset Shores has been a proud contributor to the St. Vincent tourism industry since 1973. Our motto is "Island Hospitality at its Best". We look forward to the day when we can welcome you back to our beautiful land when it is safe for travel to resume. Until then, warmest regards.

Staff is nice and they are competent and hard working. The food in the restaurant is very good but a little expensive relative to other options. The location is very good for what i wanted to do while i visited. The hot water was very good. All the drivers and taxis can find the place which was nice. The grounds are well kept. My room was clean and well equipped. I was in room 40 and i had trouble with wifi and the toilet didnt flush very good. These arent deal breakers for me but it was a tiny bit annoying.
Over all its fairly priced and good value for the room. If you want a perfect hotel spend more money 💰

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your stay at Sunset Shores Beach Hotel. You were staying in a Garden View room which overlooks the main entrance driveway and gardens. We are sorry to hear about the frustrations you encountered with wifi and your toilet. We will ask housekeeping to investigate and correct the faulty toilet mechanism so other guests aren't hindered by it. We will also double check the signal strength for the wifi. There is a router directly below Garden View rooms in the conference room. We will also check our front desk procedures to be sure they are giving out the right password(s) for Garden View guests to access the conference room service rather than stretching to connect to the wifi in the dining room (in the main building) when in your room. Wifi service should be good in most areas. Sunset Shores Beach Hotel has been proudly serving vacationers and business travelers since 1973 so all taxis and buses know we exactly where we are - located directly on Villa Beach, one of the nicest beaches on the mainland. We hope you spent some time in the pool courtyard which provides direct access to the beach and warm Caribbean Sea and is the perfect spot to relax by the beach bar, take in the view of some of the Grenadine Islands and watch spectacular sunsets while sipping on our signature rum punch or fresh fruit punch. When you return to St. Vincent, we hope you will visit with us again. Until then, warmest regards and safe travels.

Stayed here for 5 nights to be closer to carnival and as we knew it was a 3 star hotel we lowered our expectations. On arrival it was clean but basic. The room had a fridge which was very useful and the beds were very comfy. We initially were put on the ground floor and there was a party but they quickly changed our room to room 30 upon request. It had a partial ocean view facing the pool.

We never ate at the hotel so I cannot comment on that as my dad took us to town everyday but the drinks were very reasonable, (£4 for a rum punch). The staff were very friendly and we never had any issues. The beach was lovely to look at but I prefer water I can see my feet in.

Young island is across the way and there’s a free boat that takes you there

There’s a few restaurants on the beach but you had to walk through the ocean on a path to get there but the food was good and well priced.

St Vincent is still an up and coming island therefore their service is not of a standard of a heavily touristy island but they’re doing there best and with time it will get there I’m sure!

My only thing I would say is to get a bigger pool as it was way too small to even entertain getting in and new hotels are being built, so in order to keep up maybe that should be a focus.

My wife and I stayed 1-8 Jun 2022. This was the lowest rated hotel we’ve ever stayed at, and I have to say, it was even below its rating of a 3. Let me state that the customer service and the waiter (Hudson), and Bartender and waitress (Patricia) we’re both outstanding. They each went above and beyond to accommodate their guests. Our maid (didn’t catch her name) was also very nice.

Now, the food was not good and much of the menu was unavailable. How is it that visiting the Caribbean, and you don’t offer “the Caribbean Breakfast), which is prominent on the menu. The “Chef” did not make an appearance; at least twice during breakfast and dinner “WTH!”

The hotel itself is outdated. Owners pay attention:
1. Cracks in bathtub
2. Leaks from bathroom pipes
3. Curtain hooks too heavy for what was holding them up/couldn’t close all the way
4. Security chain on door was in disrepair
These were only the issues I noticed without a thorough look.

This property has the potential to be great. It’s in a great location with a good enough beach area. Unfortunately, it appears the owners don’t really care enough in the upkeep department. Sad!

I wanted a hotel to just relax in the pool and enjoy some me time for my birthday so I chose this hotel from the many viewed, because I am not familiar with St.Vincent and only stayed for one day. When I got there, first disappointment was that the pool was covered!!!...Thats the same time they were trimming a tree near the pool. I decided to go get a cocktail by the bar to actually enjoy that but that was limited to either a pina colada or margarita, although the young lady tried her best I must say. Secondly my room was stuffy and had me sneezing, plus the blanket over the bed I had to remove because i felt like I got bitten but didnt see a thing, probably a little bug. Worse bday experience ever.

At least the food tasted good, compliments to the chef. Everything else straight disappointment.

We apologize that your stay did not meet your expectations or our service standards. Our magnificent mango tree needed to be trimmed for safety purposes and because it is so close to the pool, it had to be covered to protect it. We will review training of our bartending staff to be sure there is a good variety of cocktails always available. Our rooms and property undergo regular pest management treatments. It is possible that a mosquito or sand fly may have joined you. The air conditioning normally keeps rooms well ventilated. We have many guests who look forward to spending their birthday - or other special occasion with us. We strive hard as a team to deliver island hospitality at its best. Clearly, we missed the mark. If you choose to visit with us again, we are confident that you would have a different experience. Best wishes to you and safe travels.

Location on the beach was good. Staff was friendly. Food at restaurant was good. Hotel and facilities were dated.

However my main complaint was that on the Saturday night the hotel restaurant and bar were closed for a private anniversary party. While this was disruptive, the main issue was the constant music and announcements non-stop from 7 pm to 1 am at full blast. It was too loud to think much less sleep in my room. If I had wanted to stay at a nightclub rather than a hotel, I would have done so.

Dear Guest, Thank you for choosing to stay at Sunset Shores and for taking the time to share a review about your stay with us. Our motto is Island Hospitality at its Best. The staff works hard to ensure our guests feel like they visiting their second home. The pool courtyard provides direct access to the beach and a relaxing setting for guests to enjoy good food and drinks. At the end of the day, breathtaking sunsets are there to behold. We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the private event. During private events, if the dining room is being used, room service is always available. Guests can also enjoy food and drinks by the pool courtyard and beach bar. This should have been communicated to you with a note in your room. Private events are not a regular happening but when they are booked, most events must finish by 11 pm. Sunset Shores strives to offer a peaceful environment for guests to enjoy the beauty of our beachfront location and wonderful island. When travel and vacationing resumes, we hope you will return to St. Vincent and give us a chance to serve you again. Until then, stay safe. Warmest regards.

If you like crappy customer service, this is the place to be. The actual room that we had was nice and the initial person that we met up with at the front desk was very pleasant. Unfortunately, for the rest of our stay, we were stuck with a nonchalant front desk employee who seemed to be bothered by having to actually work. She was asked for menus for our dining convenience however, that was a bother to her so she said she'd send an email.....it's been weeks and we still haven't gotten it. Poor staff interactions can really damper your stay and in this case, it did. We ensured that we only slept at this hotel and kept ourselves busy with tours etc. Oh....and there was no internet during our stay so we had to purchase a plan. Thank goodness it was only a two-night stay. At least it was on a beach which I thoroughly enjoyed. Hopefully the hotel actually trains their staff in some hospitality and customer service courses.

Great place, clean rooms. We had a ocean view.

We did not have hot water but they fixed the next morning. We also were missing a hair dryer in the room but it should have been there apparently. Pool bar and washrooms were closed but the staff would bring drinks to you from the lobby. I guess it’s just too slow to have everything open.

Best place about this hotel was the food! We had the fish special and the food was plentiful and delicious. One of the best meals we had during our 14 day stay in the Grenadines.

It was great value for the dollar and I would stay again.

Thank you for choosing to stay at Sunset Shores. We will share your comments with the staff as a reminder. Our room checks and freshening routine should have caught the hot water and missing hair dryer. Our culinary team has really helped to establish Sunset Shores as THE place to eat on mainland St. Vincent. We hope to have the pleasure of serving you again when you return to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Until then, safe travels and warmest regards.

We visited for the Easter weekend and ended up extending our stay. The staff made us feel like family and were so amazing to our toddler. Nothing was ever too much. The surroundings were so well maintained and the beach front property was worth so much more than we paid. The restaurant was well priced and the food was delicious. Will totally recommend. Looking forward to our next stay here!

How much is it to book ***?
Answer from Lola S
Hi there, thank you for your interest in Sunset Shores. Snorkeling in the waters directly in front of the hotel is still wonderful. St. Vincent and the Grenadines offer some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving on the planet. I am not sure what is happening with unanswered emails. Our front desk should be responding the very same day. Please accept my sincere apologies. If you have not booked already, please send another email with the dates you would like to stay and i will ensure the front desk responds promptly. I will do a test of the email link on our tripadvisor page to be sure it is working properly.

Hi there, Most rooms are steps away from the beach, and overlook the pool courtyard and the sea. Some Ocean View rooms have two double beds. The Ocean Front rooms have one king size bed.

Yes there is nightlife. There is a 24hr bar and restaurant called the Boat Club next to Mariners Hotel just 5mins away and the Aquatic Club nightclub. The hotel staff would happily give you information on daytime activities.
