I love Cajun/Creole food and love to visit New Orleans when I can get away. This place was recommended to me by a boat captain in Destin, FL after I told him I wanted to go fishing and eat the best seafood away from NW Florida. Sportsmans Paradise was recommended by Captain Mike Ledet a charter fishing guide I had booked for a Saturday trip in October. His boat is docked right across the highway so it was very convenient. as noted by others, the rooms are simple, with no TV and minimalist lighting, no WIFI, but excellent cellular service (5 bars continuously better than I... I have been there a few time first couple of times it was great. But the last time will be my last time. Maybe her mother is sweet but people like her daughter will make her lose customer. 40 dollars on a bag of lemons in plate. And out the door she was defensive. I would not recommend no one... More

We were setup with Robert Honicutt, a local who Ms. Connie recommended as we called in late and Blaine was busy already. He was so nice and really put us on the fish! We... More

If you like a rugged atmosphere, this is the place for you. It is a great place for fishing, crabing and boating!! The hotel has just the essentials; nothing fantacy. The ladies that work in the resturaunt are the ladies that clean the rooms. They are friendly and kind and do a great job. The resturaunt is open everyday and... More

Blaine Townsend ([--].) owns the “Sportsman’s Paradise” (www.redfishflyfishing.com) near Chauvin, LA. He is the primary fishing guide, but does contract with others. His wife Connie manages the lodging and restaurant. Hurricane Gustav had put the restaurant in under six feet of water, and it was still closed when we arrived in November, 2008. The Sportsman’s Paradise offers two classes of... More
