Hotel is going downhill. New owners are making changes that are for show only. Gambling is the worst ever. I ate last night in the new Port Oyster Bar. Tried the seafood gumbo. No seafood just sausage. Sick and throwing up all night. Just was not good. Weaning myself away after many years.

Casino hotels seem to get a lot of traffic for short, day or two stays. This leads to wwear and tear over s short period. The Horseshoe is worn. Time to redo the whole place. The rooms are big, too big like older Las Vegas hotels when room were inexpensive. Weasked for a walk-in shower because my wife has trouble getting into and out of large bathtub showers. We got one and the shower came to about a foot from the floor. This led to the entire bathroom being covered in water that splashed out. Don't have to be too bright to know how to fix that problem. Since covid you never get your room made up. Just ask for whatever you use to be replaced and someone will bring it. There was no safe in the room (although the front desk told us there was). No pen or paper. No coffee machine; can't remember the last time I stayed in a hotel without a coffee maker. And have to comment on the "Resort Fee" and excuse to charge you more for things you don't need, and don't use. Just an excuse to make you think you got a good rate and then charge $10- $15 more per day. Next time I will try a newer place.

Very rude staff from wait person to security to casino floor people. No one evidently liked their jobs. You literally could not get help and when you finally found someone they seemed put out. Cigarette smoke was beyond terrible as well. Seemed like zero ventilation. Never again will we go there.

I know businesses have their ups and downs when it comes to satisfying customers. My recent visit with the spouse for a quick getaway and leaving a review over 4 years ago...they did make their upgrades to the rooms in 2018 but some are getting let go. Our Room 1414 was clean with exception to the coffee table was not wiped but was handled immediately by staff. I checked everything else and was satisfactory. As for the carpet, dingy by the bed where someone spilled something and it set there. Carpet could use a refresh..get a steam cleaning service in there Horseshoe and clean those carpets. They would look great again without having to replace! As for the upgraded furniture and fixings, still looks good. Refrigerator worked fine. Need to check the phone cords more often. This rooms cord had a loose wire and when talking to the front desk they would go in and out when the cord moved. Have service periodically check all the phones and make sure they are up and running with no issues. Bathroom was clean. No disappointment there. I am an avid checker. Still no ice bucket in room due to Covid or coffeepot. Now here is a tidbit Horseshoe...I stayed in a Hilton branded hotel in another area and they offered a plastic ice bucket if you requested from their storage. Maybe you should leave a note card of some sort and offer these as well if people so desire to have ice in room. Customer satisfaction!! Give with a couple of plastic sealed cups= Very Happy Customer Atmosphere in hotel very pleased. Welcoming and helpful. As for the casino, as usual, had fun and this time actually our budget went a little further than normal! Thank you! Didn't see any payers tho.. Drink service was good sometimes and other not so good. Busy Friday night but not overly busy. As for the 8oz Burger Bar-third party venue- EXCELLENT!! The food was hot and very good this round. Worth the double points visit! Hopefully this helps people know a little about the stay. I know everyone has their thoughts and opinions. Some like the HIGH end of things while other understand the MEDIOCRE side things. Well, when you get to POOR side of things, i am out from the start and wont stay! Horseshoe..i will be back someday.

My family and I have always enjoyed stopping at Horseshoe headed home from TX. This visit, however was less than pleasant to say the least. When checking into the hotel the staff was very friendly and polite. It went downhill from there, The room we stayed in, 1717, was completely dusty with obvious mildew/mold throughout the room and bathroom. My daughter was unable to sleep due to the dust and she became so itchy I had to give her benadryl. We wanted to try the buffet but found that where it used to be it was no longer there. When we walked up to the check point to enter the casino, I was trying to ask the Security Guard 'Charlene' if the buffet was closed down or moved, Charlene never looked my way or acknowledged me at all, My daughter said to Charlene that I was asking her a question and she responded that she knew. I asked Charlene if she was ignoring me but she never answered me. After she checked my daughter's ID, Charlene then looked at me and asked me what I needed, I said it's ok and walked towards the casino, She was extremely rude. It would have been a nicer gesture to acknowledge me and then say give me a minute mam or something. We won't be back to visit. It was such a disappointment after so many wonderful visits that we just left and went to Margaritaville.
