Horseshoe Bossier Casino & Hotel has received mixed feedback, with guests praising the cleanliness of the rooms but highlighting a need for modernization and better maintenance. The absence of in-room coffee makers and complimentary water has been a notable point of dissatisfaction. The atmosphere of the hotel is often described as needing an update due to dated decor and furnishings. Additionally, concerns regarding value are raised due to unexpected fees and a lack of amenities. I usually go to the Horseshoe once every few months. The last few times, I've been disappointed by the decrease in service and value. 1. Room - this time, the curtains wouldn't shut easily as the tracks they were on were bent on both sides. The hot water in the shower was lukewarm at best. The hotel also is not designed for today's modern conveniences - no upgrades to lamps or clocks with extra USB ports for charging like so many other hotels have done. Otherwise, the room is older in style but serviceable. 2. Casino - unfortunately, there is no Non-Smoking section. As a recent non-smoker, it would have been nice to have an area where non-smokers could go. The ventilation also allows for the smoke to settle and remain on the casino floors, so every night, everything reeks of smoke when going back to the room. At least most of the dealers and pit bosses are friendly. Saturday night there was a fight on the main floor and security didn't even notice it and the patrons had to point it out (the two security guards were about 40 ft away and talking to each other at the time). 3. Food - stayed Saturday - Monday. No breakfast options on Sunday means either room service or waiting until 11a to go to the sports bar (online said 11a open, but sign at the sports book/ bar said 10a so confusion there). Then had to ask to get served. Once served, the server was extremely attentive and nice. Also, late night food offerings such as Jasmine Noodle House and the Bazaar (place next to the Burger Bar) were supposed to close at 2a, but they were already packed up and shutting down at 150a (10 minutes early), leaving no late night options for food except Burger Bar which only uses rewards credits at 50% of the regular value. Oh - and no in-room coffee maker means in order to get coffee in the AM, I'd have to order room service AND buy a whole pot for an extravagant price OR go all the way into the casino to get some. 4. General - elevators were dirty (the three different ones I used) and all smelled of smoke. There is no complimentary water like there is at so many other Caesar's hotels. I travel quite a bit for business and try to incorporate a stay at either a Caesar's or MGM hotel. By far, this is the least desirable Caesars/ MGM hotel I have stayed at. If not for the fact it is the only one of either brand, I would find a different casino/ hotel to spend (and lose) my money at.

HOTEL: Checked in for our 30 year anniversary, and I can honestly say that I have stayed in cleaner rooms at Best Western. As soon as we got off the elevator on the 14th floor the stench of marijuana is so overwhelming that you want to hold your breath while walking down the hall. Dried piss on the bottom of the toilet. I noticed it after the toilet overflowed on us. Forty-five minutes later, and we are still waiting on housekeeping for a mop. Both lamps by the bed have rust all over them. Air vents are filthy. Air control box, we can't really tell which side is cold or heat. Chair arm just came off in my hand. Called the front desk again about getting someone up here to mop up the water in the bathroom. After 1.5 hours of no one coming, we went down to the front desk to talk to a manager. I made the comment to the manager about the room being very dated and in unsatisfactory condition and she agreed that she knew the rooms were dated. They moved us to a new room on the 12th floor. It was cleaner but still very dated. The beds were horribly soft. You sink so far into them and there is no support left in them whatsoever. We thought we were free of the marijuana smell until we returned from the casino floor around midnight. That was a wrong assumption. As we walked the hall and got closer to our room, the smell was sickening. We booked here 2 nights and needless to say, we were ready to leave after the first night. CASINO: We sat at the machines for over an hour before we even seen any waitress for a drink. My husband and I got 1 drink each from a waitress and never seen her again. We asked another waitress for a drink and her reply was "I will let your waitress know". Still didn't get a drink. Finally, my husband went to the bar to buy drinks. I expected way more from Horseshoe........

We had a beautiful room with a great view. Our room was comped and we got to check in early, no charge. I asked for a room close to the elevator, no problem! We had a fridge, I dont think there was a coffee pot but we always bring a small 5 cup one when we travel. The bed was so comfortable and nice linens and towels. The staff we encountered were very friendly. Although we had no big wins, we did get to play. Lots of small bonuses, that made it entertaining. Also good drink service. We will definitely make another stop here.

The Horseshoe, along with every other casino in Shreveport/Bossier City, appear to be struggling to recover from the pandemic era. We stayed here Jan 9-11, 2024, with a generously provided comp room. However, there were a few issues with room 316 that need to be resolved. The safe power (probably battery) was unavailable, therefore the safe was unusable. A request to Ivy resulted in an automated response but as far as I know no actual response to discuss fixing it. While we were there the overhead toilet alcove light went out. This room is obviously not renovated. It was clean, the bed was comfy, and after a few experimental attempts I got the thermostat to work adequately. We were there on Tuesday and Wednesday, so understandably the dining opportunities were not ideal. Obviously without a higher customer traffic flow it’s probably not cost effective to keep all the restaurants open. There are two good one open relatively late. The casino was fun. Most dealers were very pleasant and fun. The video poker pay tables are not the best, but slightly better than at least one competitor. I truly hope things improve. I do recommend folks consider paying a visit. I will begin becoming more assertive, even when staying in a comp room, when I discover issues.

I have been a loyal VIP patron of this property for over 15 years, but recent experiences have left me dissatisfied. Despite claiming to be a luxury 4-star hotel, certain basic amenities are lacking. Notably, if you opt for a non-premium room, you won’t find a coffee maker. Retrieving a cup of coffee involves a cumbersome journey down from the 26th floor, across the lobby, past restaurants, through casino security, down a ramp into the casino, and finally to a video poker bar. By the time you reach your room, the coffee is already cold. Additionally, the absence of complimentary water bottles is frustrating. The recent change in policy, as informed by the lobby manager, means guests need to bring their own water or pay a premium for purified water in the gift shop. For a supposed luxury establishment, these inconveniences are disheartening. It’s disappointing to feel that I even need to explore alternatives that offer a more convenient and accommodating experience. Otherwise. Clean hotel. Clean room. Nice tub. But I still have to go to the casino for a cup of coffee in the middle of the night.

If I could give it a ZERO star, I would. This is NOT a 4-star hotel. More like a 1-star. Rooms smelled (we were on a non-smoking floor) Couch & chair had several gross stains. Rug had stains. Bedsheets had holes. Bathroom/shower were disgusting. Toilet had stains in porcelain...my son thought they were "poop" stains. Corded phone was broken with no guide on front. Obvious disrepair. Rude front desk. All calls to operator go to the Philippines, and it was obvious they weren't local. They would forward our calls to wrong areas every time. Front desk would NOT answer at times. We had to call for housekeeping; when we called at midday, they said we missed our window and wouldn't clean the room. I insisted, and they sent up sheets and said 'take these'. I used them to cover up the couch and chair. Here are things a 4-star hotel should have but didn't have here: No water bottles or real glassed to drink. We called front desk and they told us to buy at the vending machines. Plastic cups wrapped in plastic in bathroom. Only shampoo/soap toiletries. Tiny bar soap. Again, like a Days Inn or worse. I was traveling for leisure with my family. I was used to this back in my early 20s traveling at motels on a budget. The nearly $400/night cost for this was truly obscene. I had originally booked the Hilton nearby...and change to the Horseshoe based on star rating. I'm a Bonvoy member and even the Residence Inn next door was cleaner, nicer, and didn't smell (other members of family stayed there).

We drove 3 and a half hours to get there, arrived at 1p.m. check in is at 3 which we didnt realize. We was ready to unwind and rest before starting our afternoon only to find out it would cost an extra 15 dollars to check in early. Let's see I already paid the big amount to get a room and because we came early - I have to make more. Im not a happy camper.

The Hotel Rooms are exhausted and gross. Wood furniture and moldings is worn out. Carpets are gross and worn out. The hotel needs major renovations and room serviceis a joke. Restaurants are decent and casino floor services are good most days. They need to step up awards on freeplay which is unrealistic compared to how much one spends for a lousy freeplay gimmicks that are equal to 1% at best.

GETTO!l NO HOT WATER! We have stayed at the Horseshoe for years. The last 2 times recently we were on the 16th and 18th floor. No Hot Water. This property has gone down so much over the last 5 years. All the mattresses need to be replaced. Rooms have mold and dirty in the bathrooms. I don’t know who the GM is there but he needs to be replaced. Last time we stayed there there was music playing til 1am in the morning. I don’t think they care about their guests anymore.
