The hotel was large and looked as if it had been recently refurbished. Our room was large and well prepared. However, the bath was badly worn and the in-room WiFi poor. Breakfast was a disgrace. The staff were totally disinterested, the food pre-prepared and appeared to be in place for a long time. There were hardly any other takers for breakfast, no surprise there! Check out and check in staff were efficient.

Hello James M,, Thanks for the stay and review. I am glad that you liked the room, but I'm sad to hear about the negative ones. I am very sorry to learn about the bathroom, and the food quality. I have forwarded your feedback to our hotel management to work on these points raised in your review to give you the best hotel experience in the future. Once again, thank you for staying with us and hope you visit us again. Best Regards, John O Case Manager IHGService

Location is somewhat inconvenient, staff is lax on service, no full service restaurant on site, yet no outside food permitted in lobby. Might have been a nice place in its heyday, but time has not been kind to this property. Ceilings (on the top floor) exhibit water damage, elevator doors screech when opening, and both sleeping rooms and bathrooms are quite small. I stay at hotels all over the world, and this was one of the most disappointing stays I've seen. Add to that a group of unruly, adolescent soccer players running the halls and destroying the lobby bathrooms, and this was one stay I'll never repeat. On the up-side, rooms were quiet and beds comfortable. If you're in late and out early, this is a good roadside motel.

Hi BeachDad23, Thanks for staying! We want to provide our guests with a good night's sleep so it's lovely reading your comments about our quiet and comfy rooms. On the downside, I'm concerned you did not find our location convenient and that our current upkeep fell short of expectations. I'm also sorry for the letdown caused by the condition of our elevators and the noise levels from other guests. Reviews help us improve so believe that I have shared this with the management for reference. I hope we get the chance to make your next overnight experience better than the last. Kindest regards, Jillian I Case Manager IHGService

Yes, the rate is $20-$30 less than others, but breakfast is not included. I stayed in room 311, which has a super-heavy door, i.e. heavier than most hotel doors in my experience, YET still this door would not shut unless I deliberately applied considerable force to. Even though I was checking out the following morning, the maid knocked on my door, waking me up, just for purposes of cleaning the room. Her reason: because I didn’t put a DND sign up, like it’s my obligation to have done so the night before. Housekeeping should have a list of check outs! The floor of the portion of the street level that includes the main elevators and the café are warped as posted by management. Also quite confusing to me was a convention regarding the buttons for calling an elevator to the floor one is on at the time. If such a button is lit, it signifies that the elevator is there on that floor. It does not signify that someone recently "rung" for it.

Hi David C, Thanks for taking the time to post a review about your recent visit. We want our guests' stays to be a complete success and I'm sorry that didn't happen because of the lapses in Housekeeping's service and issues experienced with the elevator. Your review's essential for improvements, and I've looped management about it. We hope this incident doesn't stop you from giving IHG another try in the future! Best, Pam G Case Manager IHGService

I will start with the review that Scott M wrote .. what a joke .. the Glass elevators are filthy dirty .. yup they have been refurbished .. but someone forgot to clean out the shaft before installing glass.. so on the ground floor your're looking at 30 years of dirt and and filth. The breakfast was another joke. They charged 10.99 for powdered eggs, sausage that looked like black scabs..just crap.. I saw a few people had a breakfast coupon. I asked the front desk about a coupon .. they stated that was not included in your reservation. NICE! How could any say this was a nice buffet.. what a Lie ! Now to the room.. Had to use a shoulder slam to the door to enter the room, as the door had been repainted at least 3 times. The build up on the frame prevented the door from opening or closing with out a struggle. The new carpet was already coming up, the bathroom door hit the toilet when opening, toilet seat lid broke on the second day of the stay, bathroom "New Trim" was falling away from the wall, this refurb was less than half donkey. We have an ice bucket with a broken lid, and no ice machine or vending on our floor , the vending area was an empty space. The new furnishing were uncomfortable and frankly ugly.. I asked for and extra pillow .. but fist i had to go down to the front desk because no one wold answer the phone from my room including house keeping. I was told at the front desk they were out of pillows .. another Lie. I asked to speak to the MOD .. front desk gave me deer in the headlights look. We don't have one of those .. i gave up .. This is not a Holiday INN .. SACK the Sign

Hi markstuit, Thank you for leaving us your review and for spending the weekend with us here in Baton Rouge. Glad to have been a host to our new IHG Rewards Club Member! We are grateful for your business with us. We are determined to deliver the joy of travel for all, markstuit. I'm sorry that you found the breakfast buffet short of being worth the spend of the options served. Yes, we do not provide free breakfast unless it was booked together with the reservation but it can also be paid separately. I also regard your thoughts about the elevator, bathroom trim, presence of ice and vending machine, and your request for additional pillows. Opening the door required an extra effort because it needed an extra push, markstuit. Don't worry, I took the necessary steps to ensure our management gets to read your post and be discussed amongst all concerned staff. We are always on the lookout for ways to make your experience memorable. Reviews such as this goes a long way in identifying areas where we can improve. I hope you also get a chance the email I've sent to further talk about your post. We hope that you will give us another chance to show you the Holiday Inn Brand you know and love. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your stay with us. Best regards, Frank A. Case Manager IHGService

I have just spent a week at the Holiday Inn on business and it was excellent. Here's why : * My room was modern and clean with a super comfy bed. *WIFI worked very well with no connecting or speed issues. *They have just finished major renovations and the place looks great. *All brand new equipment in the fitness room. *Enjoyed the free all day coffee (with flavored creamers) in the lobby. *Breakfast buffet was very good (with real OJ). *Staff was friendly, as they should be in the hotel business. *I thought the two glass elevators were pretty cool. *Definitely would recommend this hotel.
