We stayed a night at Logan Cottage for a quick and long overdue anniversary getaway. Our intentions were to stroll through the downtown shops and have lunch at the Bluebird which would take us up to check-in time where we could settle in before dinner reservations in nearby Danville later that evening. You can read about our Bluebird experience (or lack thereof) under the Bluebird's TripAdvisor listing. Logan Cottage was everything it was advertised and then some. The home was spotless, the baths were both updated and clean, no lack of books to read, and the house is surprisingly quiet given the age. The original wood floors set off this home, along with the functioning windows above the bedroom doors. The blinds/shutters in the windows are another amazing feature. You will not find more comfortable bed linens short of a $400 per night hotel, and the heat/air maintains the house very comfortably. I will say, seems like the living room is much cooler than the rest of the house on a cold night, to get it comfortable for spending a lot of time in there you're going to be a little stuffy in the other rooms but this is a minor thing that many probably wouldn't even notice. Wife mentioned when we got home needing to book again in Dec. to take the kids to stay and travel around to look at Christmas lights so we will likely be staying again very soon.…
We stayed in the lovely Logan Cottage for a family wedding in nearby Danville this past weekend and I would highly recommend this for anyone who has an event in Central Kentucky area. What an outstanding experience! This beautifully remodeled place was perfectly done with 5-star luxury/convenience combined with old world charm; from the front porch swing to the beautifully landscaped backyard with matching birdhouse, it was a real treasure. We stayed here with 2 small children and it was great having the yard for the kids to burn off energy, fully stocked modern kitchen, comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The furniture is lovely, artwork exquisite. I told my husband that I would really love to move there to live!! Staff were very friendly & extremely helpful. Bluebird Cafe is a dining experience not to be missed and is only steps away. Would definitely return to this venue if I am ever in this area for overnight stays.…
While we, -in general-, respect and appreciate the effort to turn an entire community around by restoring several Main St. properties, we didn't enjoy our stay. Except for the painters and their myriad of paint buckets and gear in the hallway nobody was present to greet us, help us or otherwise. The room was impossible, cramped, (uncomfortable mattress), so was the bathroom, with no place to put things, a glass shower door which hits the shower head. The renovation is amateurish, which results in a noisy room (Bad idea: New windows in historic brick wall!). All this for a rather hefty price. We won't be back.
Stanford KY is an amazinly quaint town that is benefiting from the investment of a local business family. The transformation along Main Street is really admirable. Their property at St Asaph is impressive. My "tiny" room was impeccably clean, well presentef with fine linens, heavy towels and all the trimmings. A perfect spot for an overnight in such a lovely setting. I will be back!
Excellence in every detail...we stayed at Fisher Ford House and were greeted by the quiet life on the farm. We had more than we could have hoped for with conveniences from a well-appointed kitchen, internet and a bed that felt like sleeping on a cloud. As usual (I have stayed at St Asaph's previously) there were Plainview Farm body and bath products...so grateful! I highly recommend Fisher Ford and will be returning this fall.
This was THE PERFECT venue for our church, Grace Baptist Church, Liberty KY, to host a marriage retreat. From the first call received by a young girl at KY Soaps and Such to every detail in between, logistics were meticulously attended to by Joyce, Kayla, Susan and staff. Very classy, simple, inviting atmosphere. Wilderness hosted our 15 couples, and I never heard a single complaint or even an “I wish...” only accolades. Thank you, Wilderness Road Guest Houses and Rooms, for helping us hone the Art of Marriage!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
Our first annual sisters trip was an absolute success thanks to the wonderful accommodations at Wilderness Guest Houses. The Givens house was perfect for the 8 Dickerson sisters! Walking distance to downtown where we visited some really sweet boutiques and ate at the Bluebird Cafe. Drove out to the Apple Festival in Liberty Ky and looked forward to getting back to the Givens house where we were able to relax and sit on the porch and share endless memories of growing up in a family of 11. Many laughs and staying up too late made this a cherished memory. We hope to make this an annual event and will definitely be staying in one the Wilderness Guest Houses.
Our family of six stayed in the three-bedroom Boone House for Centre College's recent graduation weekend. It was a hot, wet weekend, but the this lovely woodframe house in Stanford was delightful: comfortable beds, modern, spacious bathrooms, covered porches. We hosted a large celebration Friday evening, the house and porches were overflowing with family and friends. Can't imagine staying anywhere else near Danville and Centre.
We have enjoyed Stanford and surrounding areas but this time after enjoying a concert in a nearby town we decided to stay the night at this wonderful hotel. Oh my what a great decision. You are given a door entry code and let yourself into the hotel and your room. The rooms are completely redone and old style decorations. Everything is provided including bath robes. A central coffee room is available for your morning wakeup. Everything is first class and I can't wait to stay there again very soon. Our favorite hotel by far and we see quite a few.
This guesthouse in a rehabbed building in this historic downtown is extremely well-done, and not just on the surface. In addition to good-looking rooms and common areas, the water pressure is great, the bed is comfortable, and the towels are fluffy and plentiful. Definitely the place to stay in the area!
