Detailed Reviews
My husband and I wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast that wasn't too far from home with all the Covid-19 stuff going on. Maple Hill Manor B&B was close and we hadn't visited it before. It was perfect!! We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary. We chose the Honeymoon Suite with a jaccuzi tub for two. We had our own private entrance with a deck and parking spot. We were the only room like that!! It felt so private and made it even that much more romantic!! Especially with the jaccuzi tub for two!! The hostess Tina was so friendly and cooperative!! We ordered our dinner from a restaurant in Springfield and she went and picked it up, set up a candlelight table, laid out china, and had soft music playing when she texted us to say our meal was ready!! She went out of her way to help make our Anniversary unique. The breakfast the next morning was delicious! There's a patio in the shade where you can sit and enjoy the weather and animals around to look at if interested. Tina knew the history of the house and you could tell she really cares for it. If you're in the area or just looking for a bed and breakfast, I highly recommend The Maple Hill Manor!! Tina will make you feel very welcome!!

We went to stay at Maple Hill Manor September 26. From the first phone call until we left every person we spoke to and got to meet were amazing!! We stayed in the Jennie Wade room and the beds were so soft that I slept like a baby. Everything from the property to the house was stunning. Tina, the “Inn Keeper”, I put in quotes because she was more than that, was absolutely amazing. She is very knowledgeable of the place and has the best heart and personality.
I would also like to address some of the complaints I read on this site, especially one that was recent. The house is over 100 years old. You can’t expect to go in to a house that old and it be perfect. That’s actually the charm of the place. I myself am thrilled they didn’t make huge changes because that would take away from the beauty of it. The bathrooms may be on the smaller side but that’s the takeaway to having a bigger room and I’m positive that not all rooms even had private bathrooms before.
Tina was amazing and made fresh pies each day. By the end of the first day she was actually having to make another one. It’s crazy to think that someone staying there would expect her to make a fresh pie every day when the one sitting out isn’t even being eaten. She keeps covers over the pies so they stay fresh and pies can set out.
The kitchen door is always opened because she wants you to feel at home. Their home is yours and that’s what makes it so unique.
The breakfast was amazing and I’m from the south so I know a good southern breakfast when I taste one. I honestly didn’t know what a couple of things were and she shared the recipe and I can’t wait to make it myself.
In conclusion, if you want to stay at a beautiful B&B with all the Southern charm then this is the place. If you’re a person who has to be waited on hand and foot then maybe this isn’t the place for you. You will NOT find another place to stay where you are treated so well.

We were only able to spend one night at this beautiful Bed & Breakfast but we will definitely be back for another visit. Tina greeted us at the door and immediately made us feel very welcome. We booked the Hidden Honeymoon suite for our one-night stay. It's a completely separate entrance which ensured our privacy, And the room was completely contained with its own bathroom, shower, and jacuzzi tub. The bed was very comfortable. Our breakfast the next morning consisted of eggs, bacon, sweet roll, potatoes, and lots of coffee. Tina share the history of the manor with us while we enjoyed breakfast. She is a wonder host and she thoroughly enjoys what she does. We will definitely return for a longer visit.

My husband and I very much enjoyed our recent visit to Maple Hill Manor. This was our first time staying at Maple Hill. This Antebellum mansion is set in the picturesque rolling hills of Springfield, Kentucky. The fact that it is a working Alpaca/Llama farm is an added bonus. We had a lot of fun visiting with the animals and feeding them. They are really funny creatures and they seem to be very fond of the one horse among them.
The accommodations at Maple Hill Manor are incredibly comfortable and Innkeeper, Tina, went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The rooms are spacious and VERY clean. The bedding is so luxurious and the bed itself is one of the most comfortable we've slept in away from home. We stayed in the Audubon room on the lower level, which had a lovely view of the sunset over the adjacent horse farm.
We especially enjoyed sitting under the ancient shade trees on the outdoor patio with our coffee and visiting with the little orange barn cat.
The only negative was that we couldn't figure out how to turn on the television in our room and by the time we tried it was late and we didn't want to bother Tina for assistance. She mentioned that the televisions can be tricky when we checked in. I recommend making sure you know how to work the TV before it gets late in the evening. We will definitely book another stay here when we need a little getaway.

Room was filthy, cob webs everywhere, dirt, markers, paper, food under all couch cushions, killed a nasty spider on window, dead fly’s on floor, window filthy, hot upstairs and downstairs, breakfast was horriable, and pathetic, We got no internet connection nor cable connection all night, none could help just said to many on internet wtf? 5 rooms? Lmbo. We were ticked. hostess was overly nice with southern hospitality but came on a bit fake, place needs a lot of cleaning up, parking is very tight upfront, def not worth the 200.00 nightly charge. Not haunted, save your money go to a reg hotel that’s only 98-100.00 and has a continental breakfast!

It's unfortunate that you chose to be so overtly negative and harshly critical with your review. You arrived extra early when the housekeepers were trying to finish the cleaning of your guestroom which you insisted on settling into the room before the appropriate check-in time. There are 2 Internet access lines with plenty of bandwidth. The TV is brand new and we apologize you had such difficulty in operating it. The same breakfast was praised with a 5-star review by guests who stayed the same night as you. You unfairly characterized our hostess personality which is extremely hurtful and inaccurate. There is plenty of parking in our parking lot for all guests. Because you were disappointed in not experiencing any ghostly encounters and unable to figure out how to operate the TV, shouldn't give you cause to intentionally disparage and damage a small business and discredit its staff, while trying to survive during an extremely difficult year of COVID recovery. Your remarks are offensive and wrong. Hotels are better suited for your personality, behavior, treatment of others, budget, and unreasonable expectations.

The accomodations were nice. We were only there overnight so did not spend a lot of time at the house. On arrival, we had a very lengthy speech about how everything including bedding and curtains had been sterilized. This of course is important during COVID. We were taken aback at being asked to give a tip before we had even checked in to our room.... somewhat presumptuous. Then another tip envelope was present in the room

Let’s begin with the good and that starts with Tina, the hostess. She genuinely enjoys what she does and she genuinely cares about wanting to take care of her guests. She does a great job. The setting is pretty and the alpacas are fun.
Now, the not so good. Admittedly, it’s a 170 year old house and you don’t expect it to be perfect, but it is in some disrepair. You don’t get a second chance to make a first impression and little things detract. The walkway and front porch looked like they hadn’t been swept or blown off in days. Dust, dirt and spider webs on most windows. Dust and dirt on chair cushions on front porch. Our room was not near as nice as it appeared in photos on the website. For that matter, nothing was as nice as photos indicated. Prominent carpet stains, tiny bathroom and the worst, a noticeably stained bath towel. For Pete’s sake, go to Walmart and buy some new towels. For what rooms cost, there is no excuse for stained bath towels. My personal opinion is our room was overpriced for the quality we received. I give Tina 5 stars, but the rest of our experience a 3.

We had never been to a bed and breakfast and didn't know what to expect. It was based on the reviews that I opted for Maple Hill Manor and I was not disappointed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The working fireplace in the Audubon room made for a very romantic ambience. Breakfast was very tasty and fully satisfying; we did not need lunch on either day we were there. Tina is a jewel. I read some of the reviews that complained about the tip upon checking in. I did not feel any pressure to tip her. Although, I can assure you she deserves a great tip. She was very attentive, and even though the Manor was full of guests, I never felt unattended. If you are looking for a place to eat, you can rest assured that Tina will give you great recommendations. Just remember not to order dessert, because dessert will be there when you get back to the manor. And they are tasty!

We are usually do things on our own but this time we purchase the bourbon package.
Todd set up with the bourbon tours of our choice and made reservations for lunch and dinner for us. It was really nice to have all set up before we got there and then we just drove to the destinations set up by Todd.
Tina was a friendly host and had provided us with lemon cake and cherry cheesecake upon arrival. I was excited that it was cherry and not strawberry.
Tina was concerned about our health and had sanitizer throughout the house and at the coffee and dessert stations. There was also spray sanitizer for the furniture.
I enjoyed feeding Penny (the rescue horse) her peppermints in the mornings after breakfast.
We had a great time and hope to visit again sometime.

Wow this is honestly the first time we stayed in a supposed 5 star inn and were beyond disappointed. Everything was terrible from start to finish. Upon pulling in, the grounds and house leave much to be desired. It looked dirty and run down. Inside was not any better. First off the person that greeted us didn't even have a mask on which I really did not appreciate and she didn't even ask our names, just what room we were booked in. That was very odd. When we were given a tour of the facilities, the kitchen was a disaster. Very dirty and disorganized. Our room, Jefferson Davis, was dark and dingy. The "closet" was filled with a rollaway bed and other junk and there was no where to even hang up any clothes. The window air conditioner was an old, dirty joke and didn't cut through the 2nd floor heat at all. We couldn't close the curtains to block out the morning light because that would have also blocked the tiny bit of air coming out of the air conditioner. We had to leave the ceiling fan on all night which was really annoying as well. The noise from the air conditioner led to a very long night of restlessness. The bathroom was tiny and really poorly lit. The fireplace was a cheap fake electric one that looked horrible in the room. Also the TV was a cheap 13 inch that you had to put the volume on 75 to even barely hear it over the air conditioner. The "gourmet" breakfast was no where near gourmet. Most seemed to be frozen items that were just warmed up. The evening dessert was boxed mix fare and not good at all. Our 2nd morning, the table we sat at for breakfast still had dirty wine glasses, plates, and cake knife sitting on it. We ended up leaving a day early. The worst part was when we went to pay, the hostess had highlighted where to put her tip on the bill and made sure to point it out while she was right next to me. I didn't appreciate being shamed into giving a tip that wasn't deserved. I never take the time to do reviews, but I felt this time it was absolutely necessary. Most disappointing stay I've ever had and I typically travel 75% of the year when there isn't a pandemic.

Thank you for visiting Maple Hill Manor, however, we wished you had not stayed with us. We didn't appreciate your feedback, which was not constructive, but overtly rude, harsh, and overly critical. Tina actually cried when she read your review...and couldn't understand why you left a $50 tip? I simply do not understand why people like you have to be so overly critical with the intent to hurt and harm small businesses. It has been such a painful year of operation with everything we have had to face, including an extended COVID closure, 4 personal diagnosed COVID cases, and 2 personal cases of cancer. We try very hard to please each and every guest regardless of the difficulties that have challenged the owners and our staff this year. Obviously, you are type that cannot be pleased, nor are you sensitive with your words and demeaning, mean-spirited attitude. We hope that we never have to encounter you or anyone like you again. By the way, the 4 other couples that stayed the same weekend provided 5-star reviews...which joined the other 500 5-star reviews earned by other guests. What does this say about you?!?! We feel sorry for others that have to endure your abusive treatment and disregard for how your words affect others. It appears that this is a common practice by you of everywhere you go...as you have an ongoing reputation of tearing others down to make you feel good about yourself. You must feel so very proud of yourself over this one. So, Thank you, Karen!
