Lots of amenities here and a large campground. Our spot was very shady but also overgrown. The grass was not mowed and construction across the drive on a playground that we asked to e far away from not fun! They have a large pool area but the win the award for the grossest pool I have ever seen. It looked like it had not been cleaned in days and certainly was not cleaned the days we were there! Disappointing in 90° heat!
The poor condition of this campground is due to ownership. The employees were very helpful. A/C was great and our cabin was clean. The dumpsters were overflowing. The campground advertises fishing. However, the pond has a leak and has no fish. 2 washers and 3 dryers were broken. They had very limited pirate activities for pirate weekend. The bath houses were disgusting. Our friends in a deluxe cabin had no hot water for their week stay. We have never stayed at a KOA before and don’t plan on going back.
Of the 9 KOAs we stayed in 2 weeks in all different states, this was the worst. Bathrooms were not clean, toilet seats were wrongly sized, there was a used condom for 2 days in a shower stall, cabin beds were uncomfortable and not well cared for overall, pool was a zoo, and the grounds were loud all night. Staff was not very friendly either. Good luck
I'm a tent camper with 4 children and this campground has plenty for them. There is an activity area with a jumping pillow, gaga ball, basketball, horse shoes, chess, checkers..etc. they also have a very nice pool. We enjoyed our time but if you tent camp it is in the flight path from the airport and was really hard to sleep through. The basic water electric tent sites only have shade in the evenings, if you're camping in summer beware the sun comes up right on those spots and will heat you up quick.
We have had a KOA membership for a couple years and have stayed at quite a few KOAs. Unfortunately there are not a lot of campground choices in Louisville with grass and trees. Most sites at this KOA are extremely small; ie Picnic tables next to your neighbors septic. Small sites could be overlooked if the customer service was good. This isn't the case at this KOA. Upon leaving, my daughter ran inside to return the cabin key. She handed the key to one of the women at the desk as she was folding laundry. She said okay that's all we need. A few hours later a KOA representative called to ask if we had checked out. I told her yes and described who we turned the key in to. It happened to be the person on the phone. She said she was folding pillowcases but didn't remember anyone giving her a key. They said they would look some more. The next day I receive a voicemail saying they are charging me for a lost key because they can't find it. I called and asked to speak with the manager. She never called. I asked the KOA employee how we would know that she was folding laundry if she didn't turn the key in. Her response was we could've just come in the store and not return the key. Instead of taking responsibility for a misplaced key, they have chosen to claim we are dishonest and wrongly charge us for their mistake. Why in the world would we have this plan to see what the lady behind the desk was doing to keep a key that is worthless? Why in the world would the manager of a business choose to degrade a customer over a mistake an employee made? Beware if you choose to stay here!…
Nice, well run. Too expensive ($66), and I never like nights priced at different rates. Lots of activities, games, etc. Very nice pool. Dirt/gravel interior roads. Internet horrible. 46 great quality cable channels. Well shaded. Gravel site, not very level. Picnic table and fire ring. Utilities all fine. Even with a high price I give them the benefit of the doubt on all other aspects and rate them 5. We camped at Louisville South KOA Holiday in a Motorhome. Convenient to Louisville. Bernheim Arboretum is 9 miles away.
It was impossible to get a good night's sleep at this campground. The spots were extremely close and directly in the flight path. Also the campground was holding a Halloween event a week before Halloween. Hundreds of sugared up kids ran wild throughout the campground until the wee hours of the morning. Dogs barked incessantly throughout the night as well. The bathrooms were filthy and there was no wi fi signal. They closed the entrance to the park and did not allow us to go to our campsite for nearly 2 hours. We had to go sit in a nearby parking lot and wait it out. Bad visit all around.
This is one of the best KOAs we have stayed at recently! Our Deluxe Cabin was clean, adorable, and well-equipped with nice touches like a Keurig and k cups. Our favorite thing was the playground which had a ton of games for families to play together like giant chess and checkers, cornhole, laddertoss, and horseshoes. Good location with a lot of restaurants nearby if you don't want to cook for yourself. My son was so sad to leave! Highly recommended.
The campground was nice lots of activities. The bathhouses were as clean as can be expected. I think some campers think they don’t need to considerate to others & leave messes. The kids loved the pool. Our site was a little tight. Barely room to open our awning. It says they have wi/fi. Well not enough. Signal strength was low & we weren’t far from the office.
This campground was so accommodating! We called after we had a problem with one of our campers and they accommodated 4 campers for an overnight! The people in the office, especially Wendy helped us get settled in without any problems! Nice campground, great amenities and very well kept clean! Thank you all so much for helping us make our stay great!
