Staff was very nice. Restrooms were very clean. However We asked for a Quiet spot they suggested 238 in the back. When we returned from dinner, 2 other campers had checked in, one picnic table was less than 4 feet from our camper, the other trailer was less than 3 feet from Our back. It was like we were in the middle of a hash tag. We could hear everyone’s conversation, And sitting at the fire playing loud music, This was ridiculous since the entire campground was about 1/2 full. I was glad we were just a stopover from the bourbon trail and only a one night stay.
We really enjoyed staying at this KOA. Due to the Covid-19 Virus they ask you to call the office upon arrival. Rob came out and greeted us and lead us with his golf cart to the site. The store is open but limiting the amount of people at a time. This campground has everything anyone could want, the bathrooms and showers are clean, nice laundry, playground equipment for the kids and supervised activities for the little ones. We had a great stay and will visit again next time we are in the area.
Overall campground was nice, restrooms clean. Courteous workers. But for $112 for one night (6 people) I would expect especially a KOA to have halfway level sites. Site 214 was terrible, no matter what we did we still were leaning to one side. It was visibly leaning (gravel) when we pulled in. Despite pulling up on leveling blocks and moving camper several times, we were never able to get it level side to side not even close. We are not picky but for the price we at least expect reasonable level. The pool was not open either still due to Covid they said, June 21,2020.
I’m very picky when it comes to campgrounds - I want neat, organized and clean campgrounds and KOA South did not disappoint. We arrived for our 5 night stay and check in was so simple. A staff member led us over to our site and for a KOA our site (245) was a good size. It held our 30’ TT along with our tow truck & my sons car perfectly. Nice fire pit and picnic table. Pool and camp store were closed (thanks Covid) but were very nice! If you needed anything you just called and they brought it right to your site. The campground had lots to do - the Kona Truck came by one day and they had an outdoor movie one night. Everyone social distanced great. The Campground has its own hiking trails to a cool mini cavern and a pond w/ fish. They do have long term campers, but they are tucked in the back of the campground and they all keep their sites clean and neat. Very impressed and highly recommend!! Lots of food and activities (go karts/golf) within 5 minutes of the campground!!…
We are heading south and this is a must stop. Clean friendly and easy to get to. Rob is there waiting to help in any manner. We just love this KOA. Nice place to walk around and the amenities are wonderful. I would recommend this campground to anyone traveling.
