The location of Chateau Bourbon is right in the center of dining, shopping and anything anyone could want. The Breakfast and afternoon dessert/drink is always delicious. Its an awesome start to the day and a great way to kick off the afternoon. My room was spotless and as charming as I remembered it. I feel at home there and usually try to take some downtime just to enjoy the decor and comfortable feeling. I sleep well here. This past visit I had tire pressure issues do to the change in weather and was unsuccessful finding a compressor working at a gas station. John took my car and drove it to his house and took care of all of my tires for me. This was way above and beyond which is always what you get at Chateau Bourbon.

This was our second visit after visiting in July 2020. I knew it would not be long before coming back to visit Chateau Bourbon and especially its amazing innkeepers, Missy & John. Airbnb uses super host as a descriptor for super hosts, but I don't think that term would do justice for what Missy & John do for the overall experience. I wanted to travel somewhere special for my birthday that would bring much needed relaxation and warmth. I had already decided in July that Chateau Bourbon would be that place! My sweetie made it all happen by booking. It started with a bouquet of flowers and a handwritten birthday card in my favorite room there - Angel's Share Suite. This room is magical. It has its own private balcony with table and chairs to enjoy people watching and a glass of bourbon. Did I mention that Missy has an unbelievable recall for detail? I had mentioned during my last visit that lemon desserts were one of my all-time favorites. Her & John surprised me during the cocktail hour that we enjoyed in the courtyard with an Italian lemon cake with a whiskey cream sauce - with birthday candles and a birthday song to boot! Loved it! It made my day. I was absolutely feeling the love. These two are the best and I was blessed enough to also have Reese and Honey there to wish me a happy birthday! Reese and Honey are their fur babies. After the fabulous cocktail hour, we walked a few doors down to Mercato Italiano to enjoy an unbelievable meal. I am Italian and a bit partial about dining out for Italian, but Mercato Italiano was spot on for our second dining experience. I requested a dish not on the menu but was specially prepared for me as I called in advance to request it. The owner Pete was graciously accepting of my request which was cioppino - a seafood stew in red sauce, comprised of shrimp, calamari, mussels, monkfish and cod with toasted bread covered in garlic aioli for dipping. Our first course was fritto di mare - a fried seafood medley of calamari and shrimp and scungilli, topped with fried olives and capers - sooooo good! This was our second time enjoying this appetizer. It's such a welcome change to actually enjoy the seafood without tasting just the batter. The batter was perfect, light and delicate just enough to allow the flavor of the seafood to shine. Well-done Mercato and lovely, kind servers. It was a perfect end to the night with a little stroll around the neighborhood to digest and enjoy the warm fall temperatures. The weather was unseasonably warm so the next morning, I woke up early and started on a walk. My first stop was Fix, a few doors down from the B&B. It is a quaint bakery/coffee/tea shop. It was a bit brisk so I opted for a London Fog - (earl grey tea with steamed oat milk) and it kept me warm during the walk and was delicious! The grounds in Norton Commons where Chateau Bourbon is housed is a slice of Americana at its best. If I had my druthers, I would move there. I can go on and on... Chateau Bourbon is a gem, made so by Missy & John and their charming fur babies - Reese and Honey. I would highly recommend for a slice of peace and serenity. You will never want to stay at a chain hotel after staying here. Thanks so much to Missy & John for bringing such a slice of heaven to Prospect, Kentucky. I am blessed to have you guys in my backyard! We will be back soon. God Bless and thanks again for a memorable stay - keep those drunken bourbon soaked bourbon cherries going on the three course breakfast menu. They are to die for! Blessings from Tom & I! We will be back soon - Happy Thanksgiving in advance!

Top-notch in comfort and amenities. Such a warm, inviting place top stay in a quaint, walkable neighborhood. Missy & John are wonderful, as are their home-cooked breakfasts and afternoon cocktails. We lucked out on a 75 degree November weekend. So glad we stayed and will be back. I've stayed at plenty of B&Bs and this one may be my favorite.

I don’t write many reviews but felt like I needed to write this one. Our 3-night stay at Chateau Bourbon was absolutely wonderful. The entire B&B is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The innkeepers, Missy and John, are gracious hosts. Breakfast was delicious. Happy hour at 5:00 is a must - Missy prepares a different bourbon drink and dessert every evening. The neighborhood surrounding Chateau Bourbon is unique, with many boutiques and restaurants within walking distance. We were in town to tour a few bourbon distillieries and go to Churchill Downs. We made sure to be back for happy hour at 5:00 then never had to hop back in the car to walk around and go to dinner. We will definitely return to this lovely place.

We had the fortune of staying at Chateau Bourbon for 6 nights with the delightful and insightful innkeepers Missy & John! Having spent over 700 nights in hotels, Chateau Bourbon has shown great distinction with their exquisite attention to detail in homey decorations, delectable breakfasts and happy hour! Don’t miss the complementary happy hour as it changes daily with a sweet & sip! We enjoyed the Single Barrel Suite that had the most comfortable bed and plenty of storage space that we could fully unpack including drawers under the sink in the bathroom. They had Beekman toiletries which I am seriously in love with; again the details! Both Missy and John provided excellent recommendations for our tours and dining each day (and yes, I did make a spreadsheet with all the tours/tastings all day). The special touch was that both Missy and John made a point to sit and chat with us every day and getting to know what we like. Be sure to pre-book a picnic with Missy so that you don’t have to worry about lunch while crossing the state to get to those must have distilleries! Oh yeah, Missy knows a ton about bourbon so make sure to book a tasting with her as well! We felt very safe during this COVID time where couples had their own table and many gathering spaces to spread out throughout the house. The location was perfect on some stormy days with several yummy restaurants in walking distance. We look forward to staying with Missy and John again soon! What are you waiting for? Book now!
