This was a wonderful clean facility with very friendly staff. Maysville, KY is a very historic city located on the banks of the Ohio River. The breakfast buffet, although not a part of the daily hotel rate, was very reasonably priced and included a nice selection of breakfast foods. I most certainly will stay here again in the future when my travels get me to his historic city.
The French Quarter was “as advertised.” The staff was accommodating and courteous. The rooms and site were clean. The breakfast buffet was priced fairly and just right fir a light breakfast. The location is convenient to restaurants and the architecture in the adjacent neighborhoods is very interesting as you would expect for a “river” town.
Desk clerks were not the friendliest, but the room was nice. Very clean and a wonderful view of the river. The air conditioner was so loud we just turned it off. Yes, the train went through twice a night but it wasn't horrible. The whirlpool tub was a little dated and the exhaust fan in the bathroom was loud as well. We stayed during the week so the small bar wasn't open, but there is a small fridge in the room. The water had a nasty taste, so it would've been nice if they offered bottled water. Breakfast was just ok, staff again not the friendliest but was nice to sit outside.
I found this hotel in the AAA book with only two stars, but it was this or the chain hotel. I called as we drove into town and she told me it was a private hotel and there were a few rooms left. How excited I was when we pulled up and saw this cute rather small hotel, but with beautiful appointments and nice space, and best of all, a short walk to town! The first room she let me look at smelled like mildew and I have allergies, so I asked about another and that room was great! Four poster bed, nice room size, great mattress, spotless tiled floor and a room facing the water. What a beautiful scene at night with the lit up bridge. Within a few steps are several exceptional restaurants, nice little shops, and live music on the street for the holiday! I would definitely stay here again. I have a comment about the restaurant, though. They offered a really inexpensive breakfast, I think $8 including coffee, so we went to the second floor dining area to try it. The meats, sausage patties and bacon, were great. they had a few breads like banana and spice, good biscuits, real butter, preserves, apple butter.....but your only egg option was scrambled egg that tasted like the powder kind that they serve at hotels that give the "free" breakfast with a kind of generic sausage gravy. I would have preferred to spend more and have fresh eggs or cooked to order than those offered. Also, they must not have anticipated to be busy, however, I can't imagine why since the hotel was full and it was a holiday weekend. They only had one person who was the hostess and the waitress who was not able to keep up with cleaning tables and setting up clean ones and keeping everything full on the buffet and watching the outdoor diners too. So, as it got busier, it got bad. I'm glad we ate early! So maybe check out some of the other places around town for a good breakfast to end a perfect stay at this hotel.…
One night stay and wish we could stay more. The room and service was beyond amazing. Great view of the river. The tub was great. Nice hot breakfast for an minimal extra charge. Beds were very comfortable. All in all just perfect. We will be back soon.
