This hotel is beautiful. The hotel staff was outstanding and pleasant. Too bad the hotel can’t be moved. Almost everything in the city continues to be boarded up. The leftovers walking the streets are drug addicts, homeless and “woke” mask hysterics. This city is destroyed. I hope the hotel makes it.

Hi Evan, Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We do appreciate your kind comments about our hotel and staff. I understand where you are coming from with the appearance of the city. We are seeing signs of gradual recovery in the downtown area. We are hopeful for the downtown area to come back even stronger than it was prior to March 2020. Please feel free to email me any time if you have further comments, concerns, etc. about your experience. Thank you, Lyndsie, Front Office Manger

Hotel's Favorite
We chose to stay at the Seelbach for my husbands 40th birthday trip. When we arrived, our room only had a shower. Considering we have no bathtub at home, I was really looking forward to getting a few baths in during this stay. A quick conversation with the front desk staff & we were switched rooms to accommodate this. Our room was beautiful, had a separate seating area, and a great bathroom. There wasn’t a lot of room for our bathroom essentials, but the window sill made a nice shelf. There was an alarm clock with both outlet & usb options for all your charging needs, plus two outlets on each lamp in the room. It really helped considering we drove from KC & I wanted to make sure all our electronics were charged before leaving. The valet was a great perk too. They were friendly & accommodating. I had left our ticket for valet in the car one time, explained the situation, they verified our car & let me take a picture of their portion of the ticket in case I left it in the car again. Exploring the hotel was a perk too. The Rathskeller was a little creepy. There were a set of stairs right outside the Rathskeller that led to an upstairs room of some sort. The room was dark, the stairs were a but under maintained and I got the feeling maybe it was somewhere guests should be, but there was no sign or any indication that we shouldn’t or weren’t allowed to go up those set of stairs. Once we realized we probably weren’t suppose to be up there we did come back down. There are so many moons and crannies to this hotel, it was fun walking around a corner and not knowing where you’d end up! I would definitely stay here again, it was across the street from 4th street live which was a huge plus. There is a CVS across the street as well.

Even though this is a historic hotel, the rooms are small and outdated. I think they are close to beginning renovations which will be helpful. If you are looking for "old Kentucky charm" this is your place. We enjoyed our time here nonetheless, but if you are looking for something more modern, I'd seek other options.

Thank you for taking the time to review our property. We appreciate the honest feedback. The hotel is soon to undergo renovations that will update the rooms in a tasteful way that is consistent with the historic/timeless feel of the property. We are happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. We would love to welcome you back (before or after renovation!). - Lyndsie

We booked this hotel last minute to try to visit a few distilleries that were open during COVID. This was a cool old hotel. Staff was helpful and courteous. We were one of very few guests in the hotel and downtown was like a ghost town. When we all can resume I could see the property being in the thick of things and very well located downtown. The drawback... our room was small and the bathroom tiny. I could live with this normally but our air conditioning was not great. Our room was very warm and it was a cooler than normal week in August. Considering the times we are in this hotel is trying to make the experience be as “normal” as possible.
