I can’t say enough about the staff at this Hotel! Great service, clean rooms and true Southern Hospitality. We stayed here this last weekend for the Derby and it was packed full of Derby goers and they made everyone feel welcome. The staff was quick with advice and suggestions. When we returned for a long day at the Derby there was a bag by the door to replenish our towels and coffee. Perfect!
A nice hotel. Not great, but nice. Some downtown noise early and late. Not terrible, you are in a major city though. Clean and spacious. Staff courteous and helpful. Didn't do much other than sleep there. On the edge of what appears to be an up-and-coming entertainment district, so those options are only 4-5 blocks away. One of fiberglass walls in the shower was cracked, that could use some work before water gets in there. Also, there should be a way to turn off the bath and shower fans. They're pretty quiet, but not zero.
Truly average. Clean as expected. Neighborhood kinda unkempt. I have seen newer facilities elsewhere. This place could be kept up just a bit better. We stayed at the aloft last time. It was a little better.
Stayed here with two little kids (8 yo and 5yo) and my husband. Keep in mind we stayed in March 2021, so the pandemic was still controlling availability of certain accommodations. With that in mind, here is my review: Check-in was easy and parking was convenient. Parking is $19/day, which isn't bad when considering that you'd have to pay a similar amount for parking garages downtown, but have in-and-out privileges at the hotel. Very convenient is the 20-minute parking that allows you to go right into the hotel and get checked in, unload your bags, and then go move your vehicle to the parking garage. The lobby had the usual drinks and snacks for purchase, along with alcoholic beverages. Three floors had ice machines but I didn't check to see if there was a vending machine. The lobby area and the public restroom were clean. Our room was a double-bed suite. It had a mini-fridge and single-serve coffee maker. The set up was the same as with other Springhill Suites I've stayed at: sitting area with desk and chair, sleeping area with armoire, shower room with sink, and toilet room with sink. There were a few things that made me think our room had not been used in quite some time. First, there are supposed to be sliding glass doors between the desk and the sleeping area, and one of the glass panels was missing. Next, there was only one door to the armoire, which was definitely supposed to have two. Also, the doors to the bathroom areas are sliding barn doors and they didn't latch. The light above one of the beds didn't work. There was no alarm clock in the room. There was no safe in the room (not sure that there usually is with SS though). There was a hairdryer in the bathroom and the shower had decent water pressure. The toiletries were Paul Mitchell, and there was a small bar of soap for each sink, and then the built-in dispenser for shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Our body wash was empty. Due to the pandemic, they did not offer daily room cleaning, and you had to ask for more towels at the front desk if necessary. Not a huge deal for me as I usually don't like to have anyone in my room, but if it's something you're used to keep this in mind. We used both the heat and the AC while we were there, because it's the midwest lol. Both worked well. The pool was closed due to the pandemic, but the exercise room was open. The exercise room had treadmills, elliptical machines, and free weights with a bench. The breakfast was also limited due to COVID. It was called "grab and go" and it was pre-packaged muffins (3 kinds, all sweet), snack bars (two kinds), oranges, and little boxes of orange juice. They did have coffee as well. All-in-all, it was not a terrible experience, but I don't think I'd stay there again for the sole fact that we were on the 5th floor and could hear EVERYTHING outside. Lots of sirens went past at all hours. The hotel is just a couple blocks from Louisville Metro PD, so not sure if picking a room on a different side of the hotel would even help.…
The staff, especially Kirsten, did a fantastic job of managing our team's stay during our trip to Louisville! Their Covid-19 protocols and overall cleanliness helped us feel extra safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend to any large groups or teams looking for a place to stay in Louisville!
