We had the fortune of staying at Chateau Bourbon for 6 nights with the delightful and insightful innkeepers Missy & John! Having spent over 700 nights in hotels, Chateau Bourbon has shown great distinction with their exquisite attention to detail in homey decorations, delectable breakfasts and happy hour! Don’t miss the complementary happy hour as it changes daily with a sweet & sip! We enjoyed the Single Barrel Suite that had the most comfortable bed and plenty of storage space that we could fully unpack including drawers under the sink in the bathroom. They had Beekman toiletries which I am seriously in love with; again the details! Both Missy and John provided excellent recommendations for our tours and dining each day (and yes, I did make a spreadsheet with all the tours/tastings all day). The special touch was that both Missy and John made a point to sit and chat with us every day and getting to know what we like. Be sure to pre-book a picnic with Missy so that you don’t have to worry about lunch while crossing the state to get to those must have distilleries! Oh yeah, Missy knows a ton about bourbon so make sure to book a tasting with her as well! We felt very safe during this COVID time where couples had their own table and many gathering spaces to spread out throughout the house. The location was perfect on some stormy days with several yummy restaurants in walking distance. We look forward to staying with Missy and John again soon! What are you waiting for? Book now!

Oh Valerie....this is so very kind! THANK YOU! We absolutely loved hosting y’all and had a wonderful time getting to know each of you. It’s always fun when folks stay more than a few days because then it really does feel like people arrive as guests and leave as friends. Please do come back and visit again. There are always more cocktails, desserts, breakfasts, and conversations waiting!

Stupendous would be an understatement to describe my recent stay at Chateau Bourbon. Owners, John and Missy have to be the most hospitable, good-natured folks around. Entering the property, you immediately felt at home and knew that this was going to be an unbelievable vacation even if you never stepped foot outside of the B&B! From the scent of the pumpkin pecan waffles in the air to the music playing in the background upon entering you knew you were in for a treat.

Attention to detail and ensuring your stay was nothing less than extraordinary was evident, from a personalized welcome sign on the chalkboard upon your arrival to the guest discount card awaiting in your room for a lovely selection of nearby restaurants, shops and services.

The three-course breakfast every morning were sinfully delicious. The afternoon cocktail hour is a delight - John and Missy are so big hearted you felt like you had known them forever. My personal favorite cocktail hour and dessert were oatmeal pies filled with vanilla bourbon buttercream filling which I must say are slightly addictive to say the least! John’s signature Kentucky bourbon sour with an added red wine floater was the perfect pairing for this sumptuous afternoon delight.

The neighborhood itself, Norton Commons is picturesque. Beach cruiser bikes on site gave me the gift of taking advantage of an early morning morning ride as the sun was rising for a perfect start to the day. The second best part was knowing that you had a gourmet breakfast waiting for you upon your return! My personal breakfast favorite was bourbon drenched granola & Bourbon drunken cherries in a vanilla yogurt. Scrumptious!!

Our stay in the Angel’s share suite was a dream. The claw tub in the bathroom was just what one needed after a day of walking & tasting bourbon. Missy added the extra special touch of having Chateau Bourbon bath salts for an added touch of luxury.

Words alone cannot praise Missy and John and Chateau Bourbon enough. Their attention to detail and anticipating guests every need before even asking is magical, a lost art in main stream hotels these days. You will never check into a main stream hotel again after experiencing this gem in Prospect, Kentucky. I will surely be returning to experience Missy’s fall breakfast favorites!

Thanks so much Missy & John for creating this slice of Paradise in Prospect, Kentucky. A much needed respite!

My husband and I stayed at Chateau Bourbon for one night, just needed a change of scenery and some semblance of normalcy. It was our third time staying at the inn.
We had a lovely visit...and this time we had perfect weather.
Missy and John are the kind of people who make you feel like you’ve known them forever.... very friendly and warm.
I’m Was a bit of a worrier about the virus, but felt perfectly comfortable with their attention to sanitation and social distancing.
We sat on their lovely porch for happy hour and enjoyed our Kentucky Mules Friday evening. Breakfast the next morning was so delicious...three courses of yumminess.
If you have any questions about bourbons, Missy is a fountain of information!
We can’t wait to go back, and hopefully bring along some friends so they can experience Missy and John’s hospitality and their beautiful inn.

Absolutely FANTASTIC experience. We initially scheduled our visit for March 2020...we were so grateful that John & Missy issued us a gift certificate to be used at a later date due to Covid. Fast forward one year and we finally got to experience the amazing southern hospitality of Chateau Bourbon. Missy greeted us at the front door, gave us a quick tour and showed us our suite for the evening. Such a beautiful space, inside and out. 5p happy hour found us enjoying homemade old fashioned beverages in the front room as well as made from scratch vanilla/mint oreo ice cream. We then wandered around the Commons area full of restaurants, boutiques, bars and candy stores...quite the charming location. We spent the evening enjoying the front porch swing and the absolute quiet of our suite. Breakfast was delicious - bourbon granola parfait, scrambled eggs/sausage and a strawberry something or other with maple bourbon syrup...all homemade and absolutely delicious. Perfect way to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary!

Absolutely loved our stay here. Great location to many attractions in the area and the place is so incredible it was worth the drive to areas a bit farther away. Its location in the center of town was so convenient to multiple restaurants within a short walk especially at the end of a long day it was great not to have to drive again.
The home is new yet designed to look like an old southern mansion. Every detail was well thought out and the hosts, Missy and John, do a great job of making you feel incredibly welcomed into their home to use as yours. We planned each day's outing so as not to miss the 5pm bourbon and dessert daily treat they served. My husband is the bourbon drinker, I'm the designated driver but after experiencing a new bourbon cocktail each evening I am now hooked! This was a great touch as well as the complimentary pantry/nook loaded with snacks and a refrigerator filled with water and soft drinks for guest. Our room was really nice. Super comfortable king size bed, very quiet and a well appointed bathroom. Breakfast was like being at a michelin restaurant and every bit as good, if not better!
Not only was the presentation beautiful but each course was delicious. Each morning I couldn't imagine it could get any better but somehow it did.
I would definitely use this as my base of operations while visiting all the wonderful places there are to see in KY.

This B&B is one of the loveliest we have stayed in. We really appreciated the attention to detail of our hosts, Missy and John, along with their hospitality and thoughtfulness. The room was spacious, well appointed and extremely clean. We stayed 3 nights, which meant we got to enjoy 3 gourmet breakfasts, and 3 amazing happy hours. The exterior spaces were welcoming and just as beautiful as the interior. This B&B is set in a relatively new community, with the feel of an upscale, timeless small town. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants in walking distance. Downtown Louisville is about 12 miles, and an easy drive from the property. There was always ample parking on the street directly in front for quick loading and unloading. I hope to return to this B&B again in the future and would highly recommend it to friends & family!

The location of Chateau Bourbon is right in the center of dining, shopping and anything anyone could want. The Breakfast and afternoon dessert/drink is always delicious. Its an awesome start to the day and a great way to kick off the afternoon. My room was spotless and as charming as I remembered it. I feel at home there and usually try to take some downtime just to enjoy the decor and comfortable feeling. I sleep well here. This past visit I had tire pressure issues do to the change in weather and was unsuccessful finding a compressor working at a gas station. John took my car and drove it to his house and took care of all of my tires for me. This was way above and beyond which is always what you get at Chateau Bourbon.

Missy, John, Reese and Honey (the cutest dogs ever!), the on-site innkeeper (I’m embarrassed I didn’t get her name. It was comforting she was there to help with anything if needed and moves like a ninja so we missed the opportunity to get to know her), the home they’ve created, and their efforts made for a very enjoyable stay.

Every detail is well thought out to make things easy, fun, and comfortable for guests. Their app makes it easy to access useful information from neighborhood tips to how to start the fire pit.

Their knowledge of bourbon, the community, and suggestions added to our trip. The three course breakfast and sip and sweet happy hour every day were 5 stars.

I could go on and on, bottom line I would go back and highly recommend.

Missy even makes a pie that we would describe as BETTER than Derby Pie!

We stayed four nights on our visit to tour the Bourbon Trail, choosing Chateau Bourbon because of the location, plus their designation as a Select Registry property. Overall, they are a decent property, but do not rise to the Select Registry level. The breakfast and room were good, but requests for variance from innkeepers' standard approach were not well met. Outside of designated breakfast, you are expected to use their Keurig coffee machines. We asked if they could set up regular coffee to brew at 7 a.m. and they agreed - but this only happened half the days of our visit, even though we reminded them each night. We made a special request that they make our favorite bourbon drink our last night at the 5 o'clock session (the same drink they had made on the night of our arrival) and were told by Missy that they intended to make a different drink. When we expressed disappointment, Missy's comment was "Well you win some - and you lose some". Small points maybe, but important when considering where to spend your time and money.

Hi Peggy! Thanks for sharing your experience with us. While we tried hard to extend hospitality to you and John, it’s clear their were some misunderstandings and differences in expectations/viewpoints on both sides, and for that we are sorry. It happens sometimes :) but we are always striving to improve. We wish y’all the best of luck in staying at some other Select Registry properties - there are so much great choices. Cheers!

Chateau Bourbon was an excellent choice for a night away for my wife's birthday. We stayed in the Reserve Suite, which opened up into the courtyard with fire pit and swings!

This place had all the little touches that made you feel so taken care of. The snacks nook, the birthday card waiting on the dresser, the 'Welcome Scott & Emily' on the chalkboard when we arrived!

Happy hour included an incredible dessert and cocktail. My wife doesn't usually drink bourbon but had her strawberry mint julep downed before I did! Great job John!

The innkeeper couple were fun and engaging, while still giving you plenty of space to yourselves. Breakfast was outstanding. The French toast was worth the price of admission alone.

We will be back and we'll likely be recruiting friends and family to join us!
