Detailed Reviews
On a recent week long vaca over 3 states, we stayed at 4 differently branded hotels, and after it was all said and done, this one was the best of the week. After we left here, and stayed at two other hotels, everything was then compared back to this one.
While here, we stayed in a 2 BR, 2 BA suite. 2 adults and one child, and it worked it so well. Loved everything about the room, the quiet location, price, etc. Water pressure in shower was awesome!
The room was perfect, allowing for everybody to "roam" in the suite without being in somebodys way. One BR had a king bed, the other; two queens. Perfect! Wife loved the shower and kitchen area. Kid and hubby liked the THREE TV'S..
Wife talked to the staff a few times during our 3 day stay, and said they were all friendly.
Place has an outdoor basketball court area, and an outdoor pool, although the pool wasnt ready just yet.
Several places to eat just down the road, within maybe 2 miles.

Stayed here in May of 2023. This is a very nice property. Clean and quiet yet convenient. My room was very nice and it looked like it had just been renovated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Louisville.

This was my first time to stay at a Homewood Suite. This hotel appeared to be fairly new and in a good location downtown. The public areas were very clean and up to date. Our room was a king suite with a king bed and a queen sofa sleeper. The size of the room was adequate for my wife and I and 2 grandkids (8-1/2 and 6). Kitchen area had everything we would need and stocked with supplies. Surprised to see a stove top range and full dishwasher neither of which we used. The location of our room faced the interior courtyard which made it very quiet.
Loved the location. Only 2 blocks from the Louisville Slugger Museum and close to “museum row”. Several rated restaurants were close by. Felt safe walking but we were not out after 8pm. We took advantage of parking in the garage that was within the same block but not attached to the hotel. The garage allowed in/out privileges. There is a surface lot next to the hotel but it was small and you weren’t guaranteed a parking space.
Breakfast was good and had a nice variety of choices. Grandkids loved the billiard table in the lobby. We did not use the indoor swimming pool but it was very small. Did not use the workout room which was across the hall from the indoor pool.
The only problem we had was the key card the front desk gave us would not unlock our hotel room. Not only the first key card I was given but every card the front desk gave me would not work. Had front desk, maintenance and housekeeping try to open the door with no luck. The only way they could open the door was with their master key. This was an annoyance and became a joke with the grandkids! Everyone was apologetic for this problem and all were puzzled why the lock wasn’t working properly.
I would have given this hotel 5 stars except for the issues we had with the door lock. Everyone was very nice.

We arrived around 8:30 pm on a Friday night and check-in was easy. The hotel is located in a nice area. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the lobby, rooms and common areas. The fitness area was larger than expected with treadmills, ellipticals, and a bike. They also had dumbbells.
Quiet through the night, with comfortable beds. Good water pressure in shower.
Breakfast area is large and wasn't crowded while we were there. We would definitely stay here again.

This is one of the nicest and cleanest hotels I have stayed in. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are comfortable, clean, with beds and pillows that make you want to sleep in.Minimal noise from the hall at night too.The free hot breakfast is a bonus, but there is a full kitchen if you prefer to cook your own. This hotel is located close to shopping and restaurants. It is also pet friendly!

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay here. We were traveling to a family wedding with a young child and had major concerns of staying in a hotel right now with COVID rates. This hotel offers contactless check in through their app and you can use your phone as the room key. We arrived and went straight to our room. The room was very clean (with the exception of the ceiling fans that had a lot of dust build up) and we even seemed to get a free upgrade (presumably because this room was what was clean and ready for the next stay). There were only a few other rooms occupied on our floor and everyone wore masks and kept their distance. We checked out through the app as well and didn't even have to visit the front desk before we left. Zero contact, clean and quiet stay, friendly staff, GREAT EXPERIENCE. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Homewood Suites Louisville East is a very good property. They offer a delicious breakfast each and every day and it is more than adequate. Scrambled eggs were great, sausage and potatoes delicious, oatmeal very good and awesome waffles or french toast. The rooms are all Suites with a full kitchen and some rooms are actually two room suites with the bedroom separate. A nice touch is the ceiling fan above the bed, which is great to circulate the air. On this particular stay, and you can tell the property is fairly new, I had an issue with the ice maker in the freezer (It simply didn't work) so I got ice down the hall. I never reported it to the front desk as they had issues all weekend with the elevator. The elevator (And only one of the two visible seemed to be working) had to constantly be reset as it would lock up on a floor. It wasn't ever that long of a wait so it wasn't that big of a deal. The hotel is in a small business park but is just two blocks from Shelbyville road which is loaded with restaurants and two shopping centers. Based on the great breakfast and the very comfortable room along with a good rate I will certainly be choosing HomeWood Suites in my future travels.

Tucked away off the road, this is one of the quietest Homewoods we’ve stayed at. The room, common space and hallways were spotless and showed none of the typical wear and tear. This hotel is either new or has been refurbished recently. We only stayed one night, but it was very quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location near our event at Mava. Close options for eats (even walked to Jason’s Deli). Suite was huge, clean and accommodating. My wife says she can’t recall staying at a hotel that had a dishwasher! My wife and daughter mentioned they had to leave early before the free breakfast began and someone called and asked what they would like and provided a ‘to go’ bag ready for pickup as they exited. Great service. We are typically a Hilton brand family, but this is a first stay at Homewood Suites. My wife says if all are like this she wants to stay at more of them!

DMV Traveler asked a question Oct 2019
Washington DC, District of Columbia150 contributions23 helpful votesHow far is this hotel from the University?
The hotel is about a 15 minute drive from the University of Louisville's main campus, depending on traffic. In non-peak times, it should probably cost around $10 or so for an Uber or Lyft from there to UL. If you are referring to the University's Shelby Campus, it's right next door. You can get there almost immediately driving, and it's about a 5 minute walk.
These folks have helped me out! Their answers are correct. I apologize for the delay! Have a great week!
According to Google Directions, it is 16.8 miles from our location, and around a 26-minute drive, depending on traffic. I hope this helps. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance.
