The Louisville Marriott Downtown is an overall good hotel, with a parking garage conveniently attached to the hotel building. The room was comfortable and was very clean and keeping with Covid CDC guidelines. The room also came with HBO built into the TV for easy viewing of entertainment. The only thing that could have made the stay better was if the entire surrounding area was not boarded up due to protests, but that was not a reflection on the safety or care of the hotel. The hotel even required using your room key to get into the lobby for added security.
No food, no health club, not even a bottle of water or a cup of coffee! But the hotel website says EVERYTHING is open and makes no mention of COVID-related cutbacks. (I just checked again.) Also they refused to give any Titanium Elite points at all. They said Marriott is no longer doing that, but I called the Marriott Customer Service line and they told me that isn't true. And they are charging FULL PRICE. Thanks for nothing.
This hotel is a good one. We are here for a convention (still at hotel as I write this :) ). The room is big enough. Bed is comfortable. TV is large. Bathroom is nice - rain showerhead, with an attached shower wand as well. The elevators at the property are super fast - somehow you never have to wait more than 30 seconds for an elevator to appear, even though the hotel is crowded. The swimming pool is a decent size and the water is not frigid. One odd thing about it - it is biggish (bigger than some hotel pools), but there is a large sign saying a limit of 5 people can swim at a time... And that failure to follow that rule (and others, like no swimming alone) could get you a $100 fine... Bizarre. The pool is plenty big for a dozen swimmers, and one FAMILY could be over 5 people. Just seemed strange. There is no hot tub (drat), but there is a nice workout room and a yoga room, both open 24 hours a day. The hotel is conveniently connected to the convention center by a "pedway" (aka - walkway or bridge). Another strange thing - there is a really pretty glassed in space on the 2nd floor in the communal area of the hotel. There are tables, comfy seating. It would be a super place to meet or work - BUT THERE ARE NO OUTLETS in it. Seems like a big miss in this day and age of everyone having electronics that need charging up. Also, no concierge on site that we ever found. So if you are in the lobby and have a question, you have to wait until the line at the front desk goes down to be able to ask it. The addition of a concierge would be nice.…
I stayed at the Marriott downtown for a work function and was impressed with the level of service overall. Particularly the Valet service and Sayed. He was very conscientious, polite and extremely helpful. While everything was fantastic at the hotel, that extra bit of service from Sayed in valet just elevated the stay.
Very nice property, good location, lots of activity in the lobby, Starbucks, valet parking. Room was clean and ready when we arrived. Restaurant was nice and lively, although service was somewhat slow and food was average. All in all, I would definitely stay there again.
