Hotel Genevieve is stylish, funky, and friendly. The interiors are saturated in beautiful colors. Rooms and the lobby have an eclectic funky feeling that makes you feel right at home. It really gives you a boutique hotel experience in the fun and easily walkable Nu Lu neighborhood. Highlights for my weekend visit include the quality of the bed and linens, the beauty of the interior, and the friendly service and delicious drinks at both the rooftop bar and the speakeasy. It truly was one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in!! Based on weekend pricing for comparable hotels downtown (21C, Marriott Downtown) Hotel Genevieve was a bargain!

Based on the quality elsewhere in the hotel, the restaurant was a disappointment. We ate there for both lunch and dinner. Food is aggressively priced, but not quite up to scratch. My steak was overcooked and lukewarm, my toast was thin and tasteless. Service in the evening, for a $150 meal, was mediocre at best. An employee moved several table and chairs, sprayed chemicals on unused tables to clean them and then used a giant broom to sweep. The tables were empty and unused! Then, they started laying all the unused tables for breakfast the next day. We felt like they wanted us to leave. We were two feet away at 8pm on a Friday night!!!

I also must mention a strange phenomenon that caught us by surprise. We were in rooms on the 4th floor and were woken up on Sunday morning to the sounds of loud party music, peals of laughter and talking. We looked in the hallway, but everything was quiet. It was then we realized that the sound was carrying from the rooftop bar right through the vents!! It seriously sounded like the party (at 9am on the Sunday of Daylight Savings Time) was in the room next door. FYI Hotel Genevieve, if no one ever reported this to you.

Finally, the rooms are incredibly dark! Maybe I don’t fit the hotel demographic, but the bath lights were so dim I could not see to put my makeup on. The bedroom lights were funky, but more sculpture than function.

Hotel is beautifully decorated in a unique style. Staff friendly and quite ready to assist. Valet team, especially Jeff and Logan were Johnny on the spot with attention to our car. I liked the digital valet request. Very efficient.

The beds were very comfortable for our 4 night stay to see Louisville Ballet performance of Lady M as part of the Louisville Shakespeare Theatre Summer season at Central Park. So glad we had great accommodations for the stay.

Only issues were dim lighting in room and bathroom. For those of us over 55, brighter lighting would be appreciated. We had one bedside lamp blow a fuse Lodi g lighting in entire room. Maintenance appeared timely but the light never did work. Room darkening shades were PERFECT!

For those travelers interested in Exercise, there is no facility on site. There was also limited space for early morning connection with the office or business transactions.

The restaurant is AMAZING so do not forget to catch a couple of meals in this hidden gem. Also, in a real classy move, coffee is free in the attached retail store.

This stay was one of our better experiences in Louisville’s Nulu— Market street district. So many great shops, bars, tasting rooms and restaurants in easy walking distance.

Bought a gift certificate very generously donated to a charity auction. The lobby was funky and fun, and the room was well designed. The best part of our stay was the great service we received when we requested to change rooms. The music from outside the hotel was so loud until 2:30 am, we could FEEL the beat. The desk clerk was so kind to move us to the west side of the hotel, and we had a wonderful 2nd nights stay.
Lucky Penny was a great find (pun intended!) and the rooftop bar (inside and patio) felt very sophisticated upscale. Overall a great hotel, well located in Nulu. If you prefer a quieter stay, opt for the even numbered rooms on the west side of the hotel.

My birthday stay at this place was a regrettable decision. Despite paying close to $300, my dad, who stayed next door, paid only $150. The promised speak-easy was closed, and the next morning, room service was nonexistent despite being listed as an option. Waiting 45 minutes for breakfast added to the disappointment. Attempts to reach the manager, Andrew, via email were futile with no reply. Overall, a terrible experience, and we won't be returning. I received the email address from the front desk and emailed the manager Andrew 2 times with no reply and even the other manager John about our experience. BEWARE OF STAYING HERE!

My wife and I decided to have a date night away from the kids. So we decided to check out the new swanky Hotel Genevieve in downtown Nulu. Our checkin at the hotel was seamless and the staff was professional and kind. The overall decore and vibe is just un comparable. It definitely doesn’t make you feel like you were in Louisville Kentucky. The rooms are beautiful and OMG the bathrooms are marvelous. We had dinner on the rooftop where we split five appetizers and around of drinks while watching the sunset over the city. Nothing short of a perfect dining experience. The next morning we had breakfast downstairs in what made us feel like we were eating breakfast in France. Whoever designed the hotel should get the Nobel peace prize because the details will make you want to stand up and applaud. Thank you to the Management (especially the very hospitable GM Mr. Fields) and the rest of the staff for a night we will never forget. Needless to say, we will be back. Cheers!

We have stayed at Hotel Genevieve for four times and had an amazing experience every time. The hotel has an elevated quirky and stylish atmosphere, and we loved the thoughtful design and attention to detail in the rooms. The staff are very friendly, responsive and helpful, and the location is fabulous. We also especially appreciated how welcoming and accommodating they were to our dog who is a frequent companion when we travel.

The room was gorgeous, the location is very nice and we had a great stay, almost. When we checked in with the valet we let them know we had to leave at 630 am. They said they would leave the car out front and the key at the front desk. We stopped at the front desk at 615 and we were greeted with a look of terror. Our car was NOT out front and we were told they could not get into the valet room as it was locked. The person at the front desk tried several key cards and the said the lock was 'broken/battery dead' and they had to call maintenance to get in, would be 45 mins at best. This was unacceptable and we made that clear. They then got on the phone for 20-30 mins before trying several more key cards (even though we were told the battery was dead) until finally they found a key card that worked (even though we were told the battery was dead). They handed us our key and told us to take a walk with the security staff to get to our car. I then had to ask if they were going to remove our Valet fee and was told 'oh, yes I will do that' Our card showed as pending with the valet amount still attached and it was two phone call to get it removed finally. I should not have to ask to have it removed, let alone call twice after the poor communication by staff and making us over 30 mins later to work that morning, to get the fee removed and no other compensation offered for our troubles. Shame, a nice hotel but poor staff and dishonest/misleading reasons for the problem have soured us.

We held a surprise engagement party for our best friends. We arranged a hotel block and section off part of the upstairs bar area for a surprise party of 50+ people, including the terrace which overlooked the city of Louisville. Not only were the views incredible, the heaters warmed the terrace, the service of the bar and wait staff was top-notch, the drinks were great, and the food was incredible.

Regarding our stay, our friends booked the gorgeous suite, overlooked Market Street, and provided a great view of the city. Spacious and very comfortable beds. Others rented regular rooms and they were very quiet, and cozy.

The location was superb. There is a liquor store next door, plenty of restaurants within walking distance, a nightclub next door, and a karaoke bar across the street. While there were many things around the hotel, the hotel was quiet and so nice!

Check-in was easy and valet was a great $35. Much cheaper than many of the other hotels in the downtown Louisville area.

The only things to note were there weren't any steamers or irons in the hotel rooms or additional perks for a boutique hotel, however, they did provide Bluetooth stereos.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel! My wife, daughter, and I stayed here on a road trip as we were passing through Louisville. Not only does Hotel Genevieve have a great location right in NuLu, it's also gorgeously decorated with amazing attention to detail. Everything in our room was fantastic from the design to the well appointed mini bar. We only wish we were staying longer. Also, a shoutout to the GM Andrew Finney and all of the Hotel Genevieve staff. We can't wait to be back!

My stay at Hotel Genevieve was so perfect that I truly wanted to stay another night. Every detail from the lighting, to the quality of the furniture and art was exceptional. The room was so fun and cozy and the bathroom made you feel like you were in an architecture digest shoot. The folks at the front desk were cheerful and professional and Jeff from valet was very quick and accommodating. Rosette was a perfect place to snag breakfast before venturing out (the bacon and banana bread were out of this world)! I would 100% go out of my way to stay at this hotel again. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
