Stayed in garden suite on month to month basis... Cynthia and Drew are great hosts and always helpful. They maintain surroundings clean and calm. Conveniently located and easily accessible to shopping malls and restaurants.

Three years ago, our group of friends, who have been traveling together for 25+ years, decided to abandon the hotel scene and try a bed and breakfast. We were seeking more freedom to spend time in each other's company, especially outdoors in the evening. Our previous innkeeper sold her home and helped arrange for us to move to the Bashford... I lived here month to month while getting my Masters degree at the University of Louisville. The long term arrangement worked beautifully for me. Cynthia was kind enough to allow me to use her spacious and well equipped kitchen to cook any time I wanted. The large, covered porch surrounded by trees and flowers was often the quiet place I... Cynthia = AMAZING! My wife and I were kidless for the 2016 Derby. Cynthia was so helpful for our first trip to the Derby. She helped with local places to visit and even arranged transportation to the Derby! The Carriage House was quiet and romantic! My stay was interrupted by a family emergency and she even packed us lunch to... More

I stay in hotels over 200 nights per year. I think that qualifies me as a professional traveler. After awhile all those long hallways start to look alike. Not Bashford Manor. As soon as I walked in the door I felt at home. No long hallways! LOL. The smell of fresh baked apple pie really got my attention. The charm... More

Verg quiet, clean and is convenient to shopping and more. This historic house is beautifully decorated and is gorgeous inside and out. The rich history and attention to detail set this place apart. The owners are very welcoming and have made sure I have been well taken care of. I would highly recommend staying here.

The Bashford Manor had what I was looking for and more: history, classic and well-kept rooms, and a charming, hospitable owner. From the moment I set foot inside, I knew I made the right decision for my Louisville stay. And because I was an extended stay, my experience is assuredly reflective of what this B&B offers on a day-to-day basis.... More

Stayed there as a "stay-cation" over my birthday weekend. Was lucky with the timing of my visit, because a storm earlier that week had knocked out the power to my house and the electric company said it wouldn't be be fully fixed till the following Monday. So it was nice to be somewhere clean with heat, lights, tv, and internet.... More

No one to greet us & we walked around aimlessly for 45min until bumping into someone. Did not expect for our room to be given away, which was picked out only because I wanted the experience to stay in that historic room. We were moved out to the carriage house, which they said was just renovated. The bathtub was filthy,... More

We welcome feedback, finding it unusual to see this review/entry in January for a stay? last March. If you were here, called with eta as requested and told us about any complaint, we would remediate it immediately. The Carriage House is a favorite. Ky Derby guests love the ambience, private entrances & covered porches plus the individual kitchenettes, bathrooms and... More
