I enjoyed every aspect of my one-night stay. The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, and the breakfast and special treats were delicious. My room and the common areas were immaculate and very comfortable. After a taxing day, it was great to read and relax by the fireplace and see the artwork and furnishings from their family’s world-wide travels. I’m looking forward to return stays with family and friends!
We enjoyed our two nights at the Fleur de Lis. The hosts were friendly, the room was lovely, and the breakfasts were delicious. The elevator made for easy access to the second floor rooms. And it is on a beautiful street less than a 15 min drive from every attraction/restaurant we wanted to visit.
We are so lucky to have found this little gem! They are relatively new (2 years in business) so I expect there to be more reviews as time goes by. The property itself is decorated masterfully, with objects from all over the world (owners' daughter did a lot of traveling) and very well maintained. Plus, there is an elevator(!) which is unheard of at a B&B. Sure did help my husband who has problems with stairs. Every little detail was there, from bandaids and safety pins in the bathroom, snacks and baked goodies available throughout the day and a brandy decanter. Breakfast was awesome and all home-made (the bourbon french toast is to die for) and very filling. The owners were very gracious and helpful and we enjoyed how involved they are in the B&B community, considering they've only been in it a few years. We discussed the previous place we stayed, which was a hot mess. This is the way a B&B should be done!!!…
My husband and I booked an anniversary celebration at this B&B. It was absolutely perfect! Hosts are warm, personable and went out of their way to make our visit so special. So interesting to talk to. The house is lovely and beautifully decorated. We stayed in the African King and the amenities were all one could ask for. Breakfast was the best. Off street parking and an elevator to get to 3rd floor rooms. Walking distance to St James area and Central Park. Close to good restaurants both casual and upscale. Highly recommend and we hope to go again!
After having enjoyed a stay here for the Derby, my husband and I returned to the Old Louisville Fleur de Lis Bed and Breakfast for the Breeders' Cup. When we arrived, it felt like coming home. Both Sharon and John greeted us and helped us carry the luggage to our lovely suite. Our second stay was just as wonderful as our first. We look forward to making it a Trifecta in the near future!
