Detailed Reviews
Let me preface this by mentioning I was staying here for a conference so I did not pay for my room, but prices looked extremely reasonable. I truthfully struggled to rate this place as with one exception, every staff member I dealt with were extremely polite and professional, and the conference center setup was truly five stars, better arranged than I’ve seen before. Additionally, the outside of the hotel and grounds were all immaculate. Barring the room, the only issues were extremely sluggish elevators, a very grungy stair case, a single staff member who was having a bad day, and the food, so with one exception, nothing major. The food is the exception as the snack bar is overpriced and mediocre. At least the in room coffee was good. The room itself is worth roughly three stars as while nice, it needs some help. The entry way, bathroom, closet, chest of drawers, TV, and desk are all great, and having sinks both inside and outside the bathroom is a nice touch. Unfortunately my room lacked both a mini fridge and microwave, but the suite that Jacob from the Elevator Channel stayed at had those. The HVAC worked fine and the view from my room was an amazing overview of the airport. Despite this, noise wasn’t an issue. There was also a table and chair by the window which really needed to go as both were worn with rips in the chair fabric and the table practically falling apart. I saved the beds for last as I’m beyond confused by them. The mattress, mattress cover, fitted sheet, bottom sheet, pillow cases, and pillows are all very nice, clean, and comfy, no complaints here. Weirdly, they chose to go with triple sheeting instead of the industry standard duvet covers, but everything looked and smelled clean so no complaints. The top sheet was a bit thicker but not quite a blanket and worked. My biggest issue is the blanket itself which not the fluffy IHG blanket everyone loves but rather a thin, scratchy blanket. Crowne Plaza is supposed to be one of the higher end brands in the IHG system, and while parts of the hotel felt that way, others didn’t. To be fair though, the prices don’t exactly reflect it either. In short, despite the amazing conference center and solid prices, looking at what the non-conference going guest would experience, three stars from me, but four if you replaced the blankets and lowered food prices!

Not what we expected from a Crowne Plaza. Room isn't the cleanest, floors decidedly sticky. Shower drain is slow so you are standing in water while shower. Also, for a 3-night stay for a family of 4 we were given 2 wash cloths, 2 hand towels, and 4 towels. Came back in late to sleep for 2nd night and room had not been cleaned so no clean linens. In addition I had to visit 4 floors to find a working sofa machine, only to find it stocked incorrectly in at least 2 slots. We don't expect the highest quality but this hotel falls short of its brand.

This was our 4th stay at this particular Crowne Plaza on Phillips Lane Louisville as it is the designated hotel for the Show of Shows Military show which entitled us to a discounted price. This year a few of us regulars have decided it will be our last booking with them ( regardless of the discount) due to the hotel now beginning to look and feel very tired and dated. The rooms are ok - the carpet in ours was dirty and marked and our air conditioning didn’t work properly, however the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant is in desperate need of a update as are the tables and uncomfortable chairs.
Breakfast was generally good with a nice buffet and we did have dinner there one evening which was very nice. The bar is very pricey and the waitresses need to smile a little more as they make you feel unwelcome. Some of the front line staff raised a few eyebrows. The one huge plus for the restaurant is one of the waitresses in the dining room - Sharon. This waitress goes above and beyond and is exceptional, she always has a smile on her face and is extremely professional. Management take note - you have an absolute Gem here, do not lose her !
The free Shuttle service is very useful.

Hello Frenchfille Thanks for telling us your impressions about our Crowne Plaza Hotel Louisville-Airport KY Expo Center. It's sad to see that, in your opinion, we are lately not meeting our standards and our facilities are starting to look dated. I'm honestly concerned about this and we will definitely conduct an investigation about this. I will pass your comment to our management and let them see that the proper adjustments are done. I hope you enjoyed your stay in spite of these small flaws and hopefully we will have the chance to host you again in the future. Thanks for choosing us so many times, we'll do our best to deserve being your 1st choice in the future. Take care and see you again! Alejandro G. Case Manager. IHGService.

Hotel's Favorite
Super friendly front desk and staff. Wonderfully clean room with balcony over courtyard area.
I needed extra coffee pods and they were delivered within a few minutes.
This hotel is just incredibly nice.
Restaurant and bar reasonably priced with nice atmosphere in bar and the restaurant on opposing side.
A wonderful respite after a long day on the road.

We stayed the weekend to attend the Farm and Machinery Show. The rooms were marked way up, which is understandable, if the rooms were clean and we could have actually slept Saturday night. Walking into the room, you could see that little effort was made in cleaning the room. When I walked into the bathroom, the floor was sticky. The bathtub was dirty, and there was fresh caulking on the bathtub that was still tacky feeling. I laid hand towels on the sink because when I lifted the tray of coffee items up, it was wet and dirty under it as well as under the mirror. The vent for the air conditioner was half off, so if someone had a small child in that room, they could very easily get hurt. The beds were comfortable, but the bedding had stains on it. Also, there was a queen sized fitted sheet on a king size bed and it kept coming off. We dealt with it, knowing how busy the hotel was. On Saturday night, we arrived back at the hotel and we had no fresh linens and could tell housekeeping had not been there. We went to the front desk and asked for linens. We were told that you have to request housekeeping. I understand the concept, but I would suggest to let guests know this upon check in. Walking back to our room, there was a group by the elevator drinking and being very loud. Not long after we got back to our room there were people yelling and screaming at each other, wanting to fight. This went on for about 45 minutes. At that point I was concerned for my safety and could not go to sleep. After that situation was over, there were people yelling in the halls until almost 3am. I am unsure of why others were not removed from the property for being drunk, and out in the halls disrupting those trying to sleep. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep and we went to have breakfast, which is very good. Our waitress was one of the best. My husband went to check out and told the front desk of the situation and got a very insincere apology. We paid over 600 for two nights there and I will not do that ever again.

We stayed this property on two occasions over the course of a week and found the staff very helpful and the property super conscientious related to COVID cleanliness.
Our first stay was single night en route to Nashville. My wife and I were very impressed with the efforts to keep clean. As it's more of a business locale, just outside of the airport, the place was virtually empty. We got a cheap and clean room.
On our way back, we were going to stay in town, but, given a lot of unknowns, we opted to return to the Crown Plaza as our home for a few days.
Checking in, the front desk manager, Ashley, remembered me from a few days earlier and we were quite pleased that he had put us in a two room suite for this stay. We felt totally comfortable at the Crowne Plaza and was well worth the 15 minute drive to get into town.
Although there isn't much nearby and the hotel restaurants are closed at the time, we we comfortable and felt safe at the property.

We stay here every year for a convention and have seen it gradually go downhill. Service is still very good but rooms are dated, slow draining bathtubs, noisy room heaters & food service is expensive and not very good. On the flip side, the beds are comfortable & cleaning staff does a good job on the rooms.

This hotel is the best place to stay in Louisville, especially if you are attending the Show of Shows or the National Gun Day Show! We have a group who typically reserves 5 rooms for 4 nights. The rooms are always clean and well appointed. The Guest Services Manager and the entire staff - but especially Nona W and Donna T really know how to rise above and beyond to ensure their guests are satisfied. There is never any doubt about where we will be going to next year! The restaurant is good too - and management there does everything they can to make their customers happy. Highly recommend this hotel.

My ratings have always been high for this property but I was in a room with a horrible location plus other issues. Room 175 is where an outside entrance, an elevator and the pool access all converge. Noisy!!!
On top of that there was no way to get the room temperature below 70 even though it was winter since it was an interior room. No access to A/C in January. This affected the quality of my sleep plus I was at a dance event and needed to be able to cool off. The curtains opened onto a lighted common area but the side edges of the curtains did not curve around to the wall so the outside light came in the room at all night and day. This also affected the quality of my sleep.
Pet peeve of the property in general - no refrigerators or microwaves (but you can rent a frig for $20/night).

You get what you pay for at this hotel: clean room, quiet, sufficient towels, and the best air conditioner I have ever used! They vacuum in all the corners and under the bed, and no dead bugs on the windowsill or anything like that.
There is very minor wear and tear , but to be expected considering how popular this hotel is. I would like to see a microwave and fridge here, but that's a minor inconvenience.
The restaurant has good food, at reasonable prices.
Staff was pro, but not stuffy, and always ready to help.
Airport shuttle is very prompt and much appreciated.
Would definitely stay here again.

We were by the pool and I do not recall there being a hot tub.
Well our room had a nice little patio and we were right near the Exhibition Hall. I am not sure if they had any regular rooms in the Exhibition part. They did have some very nice Banquet rooms and meeting rooms though.
No, the regular adult breakfast buffet in the restaurant is $20 per adult. It’s nothing special, it would be a standard complimentary breakfast at numerous other hotels. Just because they put out cloth napkins and put your water in a sherry glass doesn’t make it worth a Jackson, and McDonalds is just down the street.
