Detailed Reviews
I recently stayed at Alfot East for 5 nights and could not be happier with the stay. We had 9 different rooms over the course of 5-6 days and everyone said they were very pleased with the room, staff, cleanliness, etc. Without question the Janel and her team are top notch! The Bar Manager is one of the best, she definitely adds value to the hotel. We will be back for sure!

We hosted a meeting at this venue. The individuals staying in rooms here indicated they were nicely laid out and clean. The conference room we used was a nice size for our group and beverages were ready for us upon arrival in the room, as was the food that we had brought in from one of their caterers. They were incredibly nice to work with and I would highly recommend use of this facility if you are looking for meeting space for 20-25 people.

I travel as a teacher with students quite often. Selecting a hotel is one of the most difficult parts of planning travel. I was recommended to try the Aloft by Marriot in Louisville. This stay was awesome. We had to arrive late and our room keys and everything were prepared in advance which made checking in easy. Ryan at the front desk was very professional and a great guy. The rooms were spotless and some of my students commented that this was "The nicest hotel we've ever stayed in." I was impressed and I will definitely use this hotel again. I didn't get to try the pool but it is a great looking indoor pool.

When we arrived to our room (room 212) we smelled a dramatically disgusting odor as soon as we opened the door. We opened the windows to air the room out, hoping it would help. It didn’t. We began trying to figure out the source, but were so tired from our long trip we just went to sleep.
I was up several times that night bc the smell kept waking me up. I grew up in the country, and the smell we kept smelling was identical to a dead, rotting animal.
The next morning we began investigating again and since I smelled it all night, I smelled the sheets and realized it was where the smell was coming from. My husband went to the front desk and explained the situation, and asked if they could have someone change the sheets. The woman at the front desk told him no- they only change the sheets every two days. We couldn’t believe we were told no, so my husband got online and wrote customer service. We didn’t get a response, but they must have contacted the hotel, bc we got a call from someone saying they spoke to a manager and “got permission” to have our sheets changed and that someone would be up soon.
We left around 10:30 and when we got back at 3:30 no one has been in to change the sheets. My husband went down again and asked again for someone to come change the sheets. They said they would send someone up.
We began taking all the sheets off so they can quickly put new ones on. That’s when we realized the source of the smell was actually the mattress. It smelled like rotting flesh. It smelled as though someone sprayed that gross prank dead animal spray all over both sides of the mattress.
When the nice housekeeping employee got to our room she smelled the mattress and she actually started coughing and gagging and almost threw up. She went and got who appeared to be a manger. She sprayed the mattress with A TON of lemon air freshener and for a few minutes it seemed like it may be okay and we thanked them, but the smell quickly returned.
I hardly slept at all the second night, and any clothes and pajamas that touched the bed smell like a dead animal. We had to go to Meijer and buy blankets so we could sleep on top of the covers and not under them.
In retrospect we should have requested a room change- but after being told “no” when requesting a simple sheet change, we knew they would not have honored our request for a room change.
There is no way in hell that the housekeeping staff would service that room and expect another guest to stay there with the way it smells.
A manager really needs to do something both about the rude staff and that disgusting mattress. We now have a four hour trip ahead of us and we are both completely exhausted from a lack of sleep, and have pounding headaches in addition to feeling nauseous.
This was a complete disgrace and literally the worst hotel experience of my life. We have stayed here since the hotel opened bc we is it family in Louisville often, but we will never stay here again.

I brought my dog with me on a recent trip to Louisville and chose Aloft based on their pet friendly policies. My dog was a little over the weight limit, but I was still allowed to check in with her, and the front desk offered dog treats and a water bowl to take up to the room. I wouldn't pick this particular location if you want easy access to downtown Louisville, but we were in town for a birthday party in the suburbs so it was perfect for our purposes. Room was clean and comfortable-- would definitely recommend this hotel chain if you are traveling with a pet!

We wanted to love this place, but didn’t. We had a double “queen” room and it was very small. The rooms are poorly laid out. Our daughter’s bed was just a couple feet from the air conditioner and that made for a miserable night for her.
The location is very, very noisy. We brought a box fan to help with noise and my husband wore ear plugs, but motorcycles and interstate noise still awakened him.
We had very little water pressure for showers.
The room didn’t have a microwave, which was weird.
We decided to leave a day early. When we went to check out, we pushed the luggage cart up to the front desk and the clerk (young man with a beard) was curled up in the chair behind the counter with his head down very low. He never moved. There was another lady (guest) standing on the other side of the counter. I thought maybe the clerk was asleep. When I said, “Excuse me, can we check out?” he jumped up and laid his cellphone on the counter. How can you not hear a luggage cart clamor off the elevator behind the desk?? It was weird. I heard the other guest say she’d been waiting to check out too.
There’s a sign on the hotel door that states the doors lock at a certain time for the safety of the guests. That made me wonder if we were in a bad part of town. When we were taking our things to the car after checking out, there were two men sitting in a badly banged up car that was backed into a space. They watched our every move. It terrified my daughter.
Don’t expect any sort of free breakfast here, because there isn’t one. Not even a grab -n- go breakfast, no free muffins, nothing.
Positives- beds were comfy, room seemed clean, and there was no charge for our small dog.

This is exactly the type of hotel that you feel comfortable staying in during a global pandemic. We saw staff cleaning during our entire stay. All staff and guests wore masks in common areas. Our favorite feature of the hotel is the indoor pool. Reservations at pool required which allow for social distancing. Staff friendly and helpful. We will be back.

I stayed at the aloft East hotel for five nights. I could not be more pleased with the hotel, the staff, the cleanliness and the overall experience. Every time I stay at an aloft hotel I am pleasantly happy that I chose that property. I have stayed at a few other of their locations throughout the country and have never been disappointed. I specifically choose them because of the ability to bring my dogs. But if I did not have my dogs traveling with me I still 100% I would stay at their property. They are modern and well kept.
I highly recommend staying at this property.

+1
First stay at an Aloft Hotel, definitely a modern industrial feel to the public areas , rooms are more traditional and larger than most other hotels. I was promptly greeted upon arrival and check in process went great. Room was large clean and comfortable. The electric blinds were a tat problematic as one jumped the tracks a few times, no issues just push the bottom and all good. Had a great nights sleep.
The bar was excellent with an extensive bourbon selection, bartender was great. Breakfast also good, tried multiple options during my stay (breakfast burrito, egg sandwich with spinach and tomato, and oatmeal).
Staff was friendly and professional.
Property was clean and well kept.
An excellent stay.

Stayed during a pretty tough lockdown by our governor. So no bar limited food. Did lead to cheap beers in their gift shop. Pet friendly with no added fee which was the deciding factor in picking this location. Rooms kinda tight with the dog and kid. Pool was really nice got a good swim session in. But would stay again!

No, they do not. They have an indoor pool, enclosed in glass room so you can look outside and stay warm when the weather is cold. When are you going? Enjoy your stay!
