Kingsford Homestead is an award winning, luxury country retreat - offering a boutique Bed and Breakfast package. We additionally offer an Exclusive Use package - all-inclusive food, wine and accommodation (14 guests). Located on the edge of the iconic Barossa Valley in South Australia, the picturesque 225 acre property is nestled amongst rolling hills on the banks of the North Para River. Just 45 minutes from Adelaide and yet you feel a million miles away. Sit under the veranda of the heritage homestead 'circa 1856' and enjoy outstanding wines handmade in the Barossa. Famous wineries such as Peter Lehmann, Yalumba, Rockford, Hentley Farm and Penfolds are a short drive from the property (10-15 minutes). Indulge yourself and experience one of the world's most beautiful award-winning al fresco baths, set in a secluded corner of the property. Take a picnic on the river. Take a balloon flight over the vines. Take your time. Gather beside a roaring fire and raise a ruby Shiraz to a diamond night sky. In summer, plunge into our opulent resort style swimming pool. Kingsford Homestead can accommodate up to fourteen guests in seven luxurious and individually decorated suites. It has been the home to a wealthy nineteenth-century pastoralist. It has been the television home of McLeod's Daughters. And now...it is yours.

This beautifully appointed homestead takes you back in time. Surrounded by stunning countryside for long walks and peaceful moments. The very friendly accommodating staff will make your stay memorable and comfortable. Each guest room is 5 Star standard. Comfortable beds. Morning Yoga. Tranquil setting. Highly recommend for a private weekend away or book the entire homestead for 14 guests for a special Occassion as we did! A true romantic get away! We loved it!

My husband & I stayed here on the last night of our SA visit in May. I can tell you that Cassie could not have been more helpful in the lead up, helping me with restaurant recommendations etc & was lovely and efficient to deal with. Then, from the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble & both Cassie & Kieran were really lovely, wonderful hosts. Kieran drove us out to the edge of the property for the bush bath experience, which I highly recommend. We stayed in the cottage which was lovely and private & we were lucky enough that they were hosting McLeod's Daughters fans in the house & had arranged catering & so my husband & I also had the platters (which were fantastic) & Cassie & Kieran delivered them right to us. My husband & I have never seen McLeod's Daughters but the place will hold a magical night of memories for our 25th wedding anniversary. Worth every cent! Thanks very much Cassie & Kieran from Scott & Kelly

You have to come to this place. Yes I was a Mcleods Daughter fan but you don't have to be. This is an amazing place with years and years of history. Cassie and Kyran are amazing hosts/managers of Kingsford, their happy and helpful nature make you feel at home. Nothing is trouble for them. I highly recommend this place. Worth the money.

My partner and I enjoyed our stay at Kingsford in March. Kieran and Cassie were superlative hosts who made sure our visit was enjoyable and that we were well-looked after. I do echo a few of the travelers below that it's not an ideal place if you are looking for a full-service property and/or are traveling individually. A taxi to town (20 mins each way) for dinner ran well over $150 AUD and had the fastest meter I've ever seen! Thankfully dinner at Vintner's restaurant was fantastic and worth every penny. Considering the facilities at the property, including a giant kitchen, I agree with the recent manger's comment that Kingsford will work great in an "exclusive use" setup. Nonetheless, it was a pleasure to patronize this charming, old accommodation and to meet the hosts (and dog).

The only reason to stay here is if McLeod's Daughters means something to you. It didn't for us. When we booked our stay, the property included dinner -- and it would have been very pleasant to not go anywhere after dark. And we would have been content to pay a premium for that! However, the caterer had pulled out and the owners were operating the property as a B&B when we stayed there (at a lower but still very high price point). We should have cancelled at the time that the format was changed on us.... This was grossly overpriced as a B&B -- in our opinions by a factor of 2; it would have been very pleasant at half the price!... Yes, the property is lovely and we were fairly comfortable but there were insufficient surfaces in the room to place our travel "things" and insufficient towel racks in our bathroom. At that price, we were surprised that there was no hot entrée offered at breakfast -- as we have enjoyed at other B&Bs throughout our world travels. Further, we don't recall being offered any complimentary wine, aperitifs or digestifs -- which should have been included for the price we paid.... Having said all that, the place is currently being managed by a very charming young couple -- Cassie and Kyran. I think they were genuinely trying to do their best within the constraints determined by the property's current owners. Cassie and Kyran were immensely helpful and they were the best part about our stay here!... At the time of our original booking, we expected that our stay at the Kingsford Homestead would be the highlight of our visit to Australia; that turned out to be elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to review Kingsford Homestead. From 1 April 2017 we offer Kingsford Homestead as an exclusive use package only - with an option for all-inclusive premium food and wine and accommodation for up to 14 guests. Single suite bookings are no longer offered as our 225 acre property is suited best for groups (weddings, special celebrations and executive retreats). Thank you also for your kind mention of Cassie and Kyran - we agree, they are wonderful hosts. Their special skills will certainly shine in our new exclusive use offering where they can genuinely nurture each guest even more so. As you noted, in the meantime we have continued operating as a boutique hotel B & B in order to at least offer our property to guests who had already made a booking (when we offered an accommodation/food/wine package previously). Our intention was to ensure all of our valued guests were still looked after during the transition period whilst offering honest communication and thank you for recognising this. Warm regards Olivia
