My husband and I always like to check out a new B&B for Valentines Day and this year we spent one night at Lyndon House. I am a diehard Trip Advisor review reader, so did a lot of reading and comparing when deciding on a place for this year. I would have to say I agree with all the great reviews! I had no problems making my reservation online, and a few days before our arrival, I got an email from Anton with some specific parking instructions that were very easy to follow. When we arrived, we went in the back door and called to let him know we were there. He was very pleasant and showed us to our room and we had some wonderful conversation with him for quite a while. The house is beautiful, very clean, and NOT musty or old smelling as one reviewer mentioned. We stayed in the Bluegrass Suite, which is in the back of the house and our room was very clean, fresh, and comfortable. We didn't see Anton after check in (until the next morning) because we left and didn't get back until after dinner. There were two other couples staying there also, and we hoped that we'd all end up at the dining room table for conversation during breakfast, but they each ended up a table for two, by themselves (no fault of the B&B or Anton at all, just their preference). We enjoyed our breakfast very much (scrambled eggs, bacon, and several other items already out and available), but were checked out and on the road by about 10am. We didnt walk the neighborhood at all, so I really cant comment on the safety of the neighborhood that many reviewers mention. It is a few blocks (within walking distance) of downtown, so we did hear fire trucks, sirens, traffic noise periodically, but our room was in the back of the house, so it wasn't anything that disturbed us at all. We had NO issues with our furnace/AC like some of the other reviewers mentioned. I noticed that quite a few reviewers complained about the 'honor system' charging of snacks. We have stayed at several B&B's over the years (20 or more) and ALL don't offer snacks. Some offer cookies upon check in, but its not unusual to have no snacks. Anton DOES provide shampoo, hair dryer, and toiletries that you may have forgotten (Q tips, etc), so I was happy with that. We had a very nice time, and would happily stay there again!

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the house are quieter since they are away from the busy Main Street.

Thank you for writing a thorough review, I appreciation you feedback. One thing I like about guest's review is a fresh perspective. This helps keep me on my toes and focused on the needs of my guests. It's nice to hear good comments, but it's also good to hear how I can make improvements. Thanks again for your generous comments and I hope to see you again the next time you're in town. Anton, Innkeeper

Room is spacious, bedding is with good quality, host cooks breakfast every monrning with daily specials. Anton has greta knowledge of the area and gave valuable advice for place to go and restautrants to have dinner. We had great experience of this this stay and we highly recommend this place.

Large and spacious historical home in Lexington's historical district. Excellent breakfast served each morning (usually a special for that morning, but one could request something else). Host very friendly and offered information on the area.
Parking behind was convenient. All in all we had a good experience here and would recommend it. Only downside is that we were charged a credit card fee (used a cc for guarantee of our room, and then it was processed upon our departure. Cost was same as quoted, but the fee was added. We discovered some cc will not allow a business to do this. We used a Visa and they allowed it.

It was a great location if you want to stay in downtown Lexington with lots of great places to shop, eat and drink close by. We will absolutely stay here again. Thank you to Anton for making us feel welcome!!

We stayed two nights here during a road trip. The home is immaculacy clean and tastfully decorated. Loved having the parking off street. We stayed in the Headley Room, and we were surprised at how large the room was. The bed was very comfortable. Small fridge was handy for storing leftovers and keeping water cold. Anton is a great chef, the breakfasts he prepared for us each morning were delicious. It was also very convenient to have an elevator in the house as my wife has some trouble with stairs and made getting luggage to our room easy. The location is great, just minutes from downtown Lexington and area attractions. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

I booked a room that was listed as refundable if canceled at least 48 hours in advance. My plans changed and I cancelled the reservation with 5 days notice, and was shocked to discover that the proprietor charges a “10% restocking fee,” which was $21. This was not disclosed at the time I made the online booking, although apparently is buried deep within the fine print that nobody ever reads. I reached out to the owner, who responded “you made an online reservation and doing so you click through my system, which said you read and understood all the policies and accepted the terms so this is a moot point so move on.”
If this is the owner’s idea of customer service, I suggest avoiding this property at all cost. Beware!

Daniel, thank you for writing a review. I am sorry you are unhappy with our cancellation policy. I have a couple of concerns about the review. First, the term “refundable” is not on our website. And this policy is not buried in fine print, it is stated clearly on our Policy Page and highlighted with a bold print. My record shows that you booked your room on our website, you could have reviewed this policy. The confirmation email I sent you included an invitation to view our website and Policy Page. I am sorry you missed these opportunities. The Lyndon House is Lexington’s premier B&B. I think you would enjoy staying with us. If you decide to give us another try, I will apply the cancellation fee as a deposit for the new booking. Anton, Innkeeper

My friend and I stayed at the Lyndon House recently and it was a great experience! Not only is the B&B a beautiful historic building, but it was convenient, clean, and the breakfast was delicious. The Innkeeper/owner, Anton Giovanetto, was a delight and was accommodating when we arrived later than planned. This was well worth the money and I highly recommend!

WE had a lovely stay and an interesting feature is the elevator as it would be a challenge for me to walk up a flight of stairs. The host was cordial and easy to talk with and ask questions. The host is a chef and so the breakfast was delicious the only thing I was looking forward to was home baked goods which he didn't offer. I am a baker and one of the reasons I stay at a B&B is to try other cooks baking and preparing of food.

From the minute we walked through the door it was evident that we were in for a quality B&B experience. Anton, the owner, and his team made our stay stress-free. Our room was large and very well appointed with all needed for a good stay. Off street parking was important to us and the back deck and garden was a PLUS. The location provides a great launch point for enjoying the numerous attractions Lexington has to offer!
