We stayed in a large king room that was great. It was very clean. Downside was the window was toward the fire escape, so no view. Staff was very friendly. Bar and restaurant had good food and service. Breakfast was good but pricey. Easy access to a controlled intersection.

Hotel's Favorite
What can be said about this property? Following the most recent remodel it is absolutely stunning! They have kept the niche appeal that you expect from a Curio Collection Hotel. The entire hotel ties into Kentucky and Kentucky history. The Rackhouse has an outstanding bourbon collection with service. The rooms are updated with a modern feel but classic appearance. The Barn is the largest event space within the hotel and it is absolutely stunning. Whether you are planning an event or not you must stop in and take a look. If you are planning an event you need to reach out to Jason! He is The Man! We had our wedding reception here and he stuck with us through all the COVID happenings. He helped us change the event to meet the COVID requirements and allowed us to celebrate with our friends and family in a safe way! I cannot say enough great things about this hotel. You just need to stop by and experience it for yourself.

Response from Rich Johnston, General Manager at The Campbell House, A Curio Collection by Hilton
Responded Aug 17, 2020
Peter A I want to say thanks for staying with us and choosing to have such a special occation with us. I agree Jason is great, he trys hard to conect with all his clients. I agree we have beautiful space, the Barn os special and one of a kind. The Rackhouse speaks to Kentuckies Bourbon heratige with a selection of over 300 Bourbons and some great food as well. We really apprecaite the kind words. We wish you and your bride nothing but the best. Rich Johnston General Manager

Pros: The common areas were gorgeous! The fitness center was awesome! The double queen room was very spacious. Cons: The carpets in the hallways were gross. The king room was tiny and the bed was sagging in the middle.

We wanted to stay at a property that was more traditional to Kentucky. The hotel is still going through new renovations which need to be done. Our King room was large and very clean. We would stay there again for a second try since it was a cold outside and COVID going on. There is outside seating available. Not the Hotels problem: People, have a some consideration towards others staying in the hotel rooms near you. People are getting LOUDER in rooms and Hallways. Signs don't mean anything anymore.

We were on a Lexington road trip from Mississippi for my husband’s birthday when I saw The Campbell House listed in a “Haunted Kentucky” book at the local Barnes & Nobles. Apparently two women were killed there sometime in the hotel’s history. My husband is not a fan of anything remotely spooky or supernatural so I discretely left this fact out when suggesting it as our next place to stay. 😁 We were both impressed with the hotel decor inside and out, and the distillery/tavern-type decor of the on-site restaurant. Our room was very clean. Extra cleaning precautions are made for Covid. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the tv was large with very high definition, an added plus! I decided to add an element of surprise and mentioned to my husband later that evening the hotel was supposedly haunted. A surprised look came over his face and his only comment was “Oh well. It’s still a neat place.” Of course I didn’t confess I knew this ahead of time. 😁 This is a great place to stay and fortunately (or unfortunately) we did not see or hear any ghosts. Maybe I’ll spring the Lexington haunted cemetery tour on him tomorrow....
