We picked this one because it's located about 30 min from Beaver Dam Ampitheatre, and the price was right. We felt it was a good value, and the desk staff was very friendly and professional. The hotel is pleasant and lovely. The ONLY thing that would prevent our returning was the size of the room. It was soooooo small.... to the point of discomfort. The bed took pretty much the entire room. I do not know if all rooms are equally sized, however. The Hatfield is pretty, super clean, and had everything we needed, but it almost felt like the walls were closing in on me. The bedding was extremely high quality, ac worked perfectly (on a 100 degree day!) and we encountered NONE of the musty smell that others have reported. Except for the tiny room and seriously claustrophic bathroom, the Hatfield is a nice change from chains. Breakfast was so-so, as most free ones are, but adequate. With free and easy parking, restaurants close by, the Hatfield also has a homey vibe to it! It's entirely non-smoking, so it was interesting to me that they had a gazebo down a sidewalk from the hotel for smokers. I noticed it was both heated and cooled. I don't smoke, but that's thoughtful, and helps to prevent walking through a bunch of cigarette smoke at the lobby entrance. …
The room was convenient for the purpose of my business trip; however, the room had an odor that was a little hard to get past. Thankfully I was not in my room very long and was able to push through. The staff was very friendly. Breakfast options were so-so. Would stay again, if the room did not have an odor.
This is your typical non-chain hotel. It was very clean and the staff was friendly (they let us check in early). We were hesitant about booking due to some old reviews. With it being under new management we decided to give it a shot. The room we had was small but was not a big deal. It had a little musty smell, but got better when we turned up the AC. The beds were comfy but the pillows were almost useless because they were so thin. Overall it was a great stay!
There is no reason to look beyond Leitchfield for a great place to stay overnight. Just off the expressway and in the center of restaurants. Great room and service at reasonable cost. Can't go wrong with country comforts.
Very nice accommodations and pleasant staff made an enjoyable stay! The room was quite comfortable (although an elevator would have made access to the second floor easier). The breakfast was a nice variety of hot and cold items.
