Paying Cash Should Always Be An Option When Booking a Room, Especially When The Debit or Credit Card Is Declined Through The Online Booking. Would Recommend This Hotel To Family and Friends. We Had A Great Time!
I really liked the beds in this hotel. They were very comfortable and they gave you plenty of towwls for my stay. The two double room was small. NONE of the hotel staff was wearing masks during Covid. This includes the front desk as well as housekeeping. This really worried me. There was plenty available as you walked in the lobby along with sanitizer. They even had a sign it was required. It was NOT enforced. Also my booking, on their personal website, showed a rate total of $109. There were no comments indicating extra taxes. My card was charged $117. I brought this up to the front desk and there was no reimbursement. No worries. Family owned small hotel, I"m ok with it, but I will not stay there again if there are other options.
Checked in here for the 2020 Labor Day weekend. Chose this hotel to support local business. From the beginning, very apparent no one cared about cleanliness or infection control. Even though signs at entrance and all doors requiring masks, neither employees or guests wore masks, or if they even bothered, they were nowhere near their mouths or noses. Took photos of my room to older female manager showing bathtub ring and splatters on room phone. She was hardly interested. At checkout, again pointed out problems I encountered, expecting a small consideration in light of not received a clean room. Clerk on duty said she couldn’t. When I asked her to check with her manager (the one I spoke to earlier), she first acted afraid to do so, and only when I insisted, did she call her manager. No budging by the manager. Not surprised the room was not clean. Constantly saw the room maids sitting in a gazebo outside puffing away on their cigarettes. If you’re not concerned about cleanliness or getting the covid, by all means, stay at the Hatfield Inn.…
Try to stay on the first floor. There is no elevator. It's a problem if you have bags or coolers. We've stayed twice. It's close to Nolin and we like the lake and this time of year its difficult to find a place to stay at the lake.
I’ve been staying at the Hatfield Inn for over 10 years. Only once or twice a year but always the same pleasant staff and comfortable and clean rooms. They do a nice breakfast in the morning to get your day started. They have added nice seating areas outside. Highly recommend the Hatfield Inn over other national chains.
