This is a local place and a short drive for our family. If you're familiar with the Shakers orif you are not, you will be by the time you leave. A beautiful place to visit all year round but particularly in fall when the leaves change. Everyone that works there is so friendly and informative. They certainly make the life... More

Tranquil setting outside small town of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. At Shaker Village a unique experience awaits you. From the moment you check into the Trustees Office you will begin to feel that step back in time. Most guests will be dining away at The Trustees Table, a "seed to table" fare which is inside this main building which also has a... More

We stayed for one night on a Quiet Monday and it was so relaxing. If you are a first-time visitor, you would probably not want to come on a Monday since only the restaurant and gift shops are open (i.e. no tours or demonstrations), but for us who had visited before, it was nice to be able to just wander... Spent one night, wishing we could have stayed longer. Our room was quiet, comfortable and cozy...the best nights sleep we had in a very long time. The property is easy to walk around, day or night. We rented bikes and rode the grounds, as we only were there a short time. It was a great way to see everything. The... More

This place is always so serene. The Inn is spotless and quiet. You can stay in a building very close to the restaurant and activity or select a building more isolated (although even then it's walkable or a very short drive. Staff are exceptional nice. Restaurant is great and the grounds are beautiful.

There are 34 buildings in terrific shape and the guides give a wonderful tour. Jenny was our guide. Her great great grandfather was a member of the village from age 10. The tour was extremely well done and very interesting.

Stayed at the Shaker Village Inn in the middle of a bourbon trail tour. Easily accessible from the major routes. 20 minutes from Four Roses/ 30 minutes from Lexington. Wasn't sure what to expect from the Village, but trusted the reviews and glad I did. So if unsure, just book it, and won't be disappointed. Stayed in the West family... More

We visited Shaker village for a weekend day trip. It is a quaint place where you can step back to a simpler time. There are several original dwellings, some of which can be rented for lodging. There is a small farm, a wagon ride and a paddle boat ride (both of which are an extra fee). They have a lot... More

Once again Shaker Village proved to be a wonderful place for a weekend getaway! We were grandparents, parents and two children who were all happy to be spending a rainy weekend at Shakertown! What better place to walk in the rain and puddle jump! And the gathering rooms in different buildings are great for family game night! Sleeping rooms are... More

We stayed in the East Family Dwelling on the 3rd (top) floor. You definitely get the historic feel, but you also still get modern conveniences. If you have someone in your group who can't do stairs, this isn't your place. Even if you stay on the lower floor, you'll have to go up steps to the main entrance. You also... More
