Very good breakfast/lunch/diner. Tour guides for rhinos and shoebills were very professional, very good info!!! Good wifi in the restaurant. Spotting rhinos and shoebills on foot is a must when u visit Uganda!
Stayed here for one night. Accommodation is lovely and very private, own private lodge within the grounds. Communal area is very pleasant with covered and outside seating. Food cooked to coincide with the camps activities. Guides and staff knowledgeable, polite and friendly. Excellent rhino trek, night walk and canoe excursion the following morning. Would definitely visit again
Very nice sucluded place right in middle of ziwa rhino centuary. Very friendly staff nice swimming piol & good food. Nice spacious bathroom & warm water round the clock in bathroom. Amazing to see monkeys right in front of the room. Friendly staff will always accompny you to & from your room to dinning area.
No better place to stay for rhinos than here. Located in the sanctuary, this boutique hotel has a pool area that is great after hot day. Rooms are clean but a bit of a walk away from the reception/pool area. Staff was wonderful- especially Peter who was so hard working. Food was great.
On our first trip to Uganda in 2016 we did not know about Amuka and Ziwa until we were driving past the entrance on our way back to Entebbe. On our next Uganda visit in 2019, we made sure to include two nights at Amuka on our way back to Entebbe, It was such a fantastic experience in so many ways! Absolutely outstanding! Our cabins, the staff, the food, the rhinos and other wildlife. Covid and other issues prevented the return of my group in 2021 but I still went back to Uganda on my own. This time I spent three nights at Amuka and it was still amazing. The extra day gave me opportunity for more rhino trekking and other wildlife activities but it was still not enough. In January, 2023 my entire team will again visit Uganda. But this next time we will spend four nights at Amuka and I am guessing that will still not be enough. As I read through other reviews here I think it is unfortunate that so many other visitors only allow one night at Amuka. It really is a destination in itself and worthy of as much time as is usually spent at other Uganda destinations such as Murchison, Queen Elizabeth, Kibale, Bwindi and other protected areas. This is the only place where you can see free-roaming rhinos i Uganda, up close and personal! Other wildlife and birding is also outstanding and the UWA site guides are incredible. There are so many great places in Uganda and it is hard to pick favorites. But Amuka is in that top group!…
We stayed one night on our way between Entebbe and Murchison Falls. Highly recommended! The lodge is beautiful, exactly as in the photos. Very peaceful night, and woke to see monkeys cavorting right outside our windows. Can't say enough about the food - delicious and plentiful. The staff was so helpful - we were not able to start our vehicle in the morning to get to our rhino walk. The manager let us borrow his truck while they worked to get in touch with our rental company to arrange for a mechanic (on a Sunday, of course). All went above and beyond to help us get back on the road and onward to Murchison before dark.
We only stayed here for one night but enjoyed this a lot. The Lodge is in the middle of the wild with a lot of animals around and a good starting point for the rhino tracking in the morning. They offer a pool, spacious rooms (we had room Obama), a very good menu for dinner and breakfast and a nice fire place where you can enjoy a drink (or two ;)).
The staff is very attentive, fullfilling and even anticipating every wish. The food was very nice and tasty We had a house in a bushy area with a wooden terrace. The room was well kept, spacy and clean. We would go there again and recommend it to friends.
Excellent stop over on our return from Murchison Falls National Park. After a hour or so tracking Rhino's (absolutely amazing giants) it was so nice to return to our Very nice family cottage, great food and a welcoming pool. Staff really helpful.
We spent our first night after visiting Ziwa Rhino sanctuary at Amuka lodge. It was a great introduction to Ugandan safari lodges. The cottages are spacious clean and comfortable offering a pleasant experience in the midrange price. The restaurant and bar area was nicely decorated. The food was good and the staff very attentive. I would recommend it to anyone wanting to break the drive from Entebbe to Murchison falls as we did .
