The first room we had was great. BUT: outside the door are no mosquito nets, so at night it was initially animal stuffy and warm. There is no air conditioning, the fan was not really helpful. Since it is common in Africa for a common duvet to be offered in the double bed, we then changed rooms to avoid the night fight over the / with the blanket. The second room (with two beds) was unfortunately a bit loveless, the sink MINI, but everything was very clean!
The service is very attentive, the breakfast very African (beans, eggs, eggs, eggs, toast and jam). Dinner was good.
You will be escorted to the bunglow after dark as rhinos and elephants may appear (but have not seen any in the lodge area)

We spent three absolutely great days here in July 2020. COVID SOP's were well adhered to and the place was spotlessly clean.
The staff are exceptionally friendly, Stephen one of the grounds keepers was particularly excellent with my children.
Great playground for kids and lots of board games/toys in the lounge, small but nice pool.
We're all still talking about the food! Fantastic homely food in HUGE portions.
The rooms are spotless and very nicely laid out, very comfy pillows! The only small negative was that the bed was too hard for our preference.

The lodge will arrange a Rhino Trek or Nature Walk for you, try and ask for Opio as your guide if you can, he's amazing!

All round a fantastic lodge to stay in, highly recommended.

The staff is very attentive, fullfilling and even anticipating every wish.
The food was very nice and tasty
We had a house in a bushy area with a wooden terrace.
The room was well kept, spacy and clean.
We would go there again and recommend it to friends.

The lodge is located in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and is a perfect stop between Lake Victoria/Entebbe and Murchison National Park. The complex is in the middle of the park and is designed with plenty of space between the individual cottages. Spacious, comfortable bungalows with 1 double bed and 2 single beds, all beds with mosquito nets, there is electricity and hot water. WiFi in the restaurant area. There is a terrace with seating in front of the house. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The food was first class and very tastefully prepared. Free drinking water is always available. Of course, the visit to the rhinos was the absolute highlight, the rangers do their job excellently and it was an unforgettable experience.

Very good location for rhino tracking the morning after a 1-night stay, as they are already active between 8 and 9 and sleep afterwards. Beautiful cottages but basic. Overall, however, very expensive compared to other accommodations in Uganda. Staff very friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful trip to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary organised by Buutu Safaris in Jinja. Our ranger (Simon Peter) was very knowledgeable and entertaining and we had a superb experience seeing the rhinos (including a baby!) in the wild.

We stayed at the Amuka Lodge when visiting the Rhino Sanctuary. Very comfortable accommodation and food.

Both highly recommended!

No better place to stay for rhinos than here. Located in the sanctuary, this boutique hotel has a pool area that is great after hot day. Rooms are clean but a bit of a walk away from the reception/pool area. Staff was wonderful- especially Peter who was so hard working. Food was great.

We had the pleasure of staying at Amuka Lodge on our way to Murchison Falls. We had originally booked to stay for two nights but due to issues between Rhino Fund and UWA, the activities normally on offer through the lodge had been suspended. Sadly, for us and the lodge this meant that walking with the Rhinos, the nature walks and shoebill tours couldn't be done and therefore, we made the decision to stay for just the one night instead of the two. Whilst the activities weren't available for our stay, im pleased to report that they are now once again available, which is fantastic news. I am so pleased we stayed for the night, not only for its perfect half way stopover, but to experience the lodge itself. The setting is beautiful and the accommodation really is amazing too. It's large, clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The manager, Ray is a lovely man and the staff were attentive and helpful throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the food here and really can't find anything to fault. When we return, we will definitely stay for longer.

Nice place in the middle of rhino territory. Nice rooms, good food, friendly staff. Wake up to rhinos surrounding your lodge. How special is that. Near the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary where you learn everything about rhino conservation and you can also take a guided walk to see them up close. With all due respect for the animals, this is not a tourist attraction, but full of respect.
