Mariaville Lake B&B is not just lodging-it's an experience! Stay in a federal home with five unique guest rooms, all with queen beds, private bath and view of the lake. Your innkeepers are professional, fun, and funky. Breakfast is fresh, local, and yummy. Most of the rooms have hardwood floors and original moldings. There are two marble fireplaces. The Lakeview and Vineyard Room are located in the oldest part of the house and open with skeleton keys. The Colonial Room occupies the former upstairs porch and the The Suite has a living room with morning bar, bedroom, and full bath. Why stay in town when you can stay at the lake?

We spent two nights here while visiting Schenectady, NY. It is about a twenty minute drive from the city and completely removed from the noise and activity there. Our room had a wonderful view of the lake, the bed was comfortable and a very nice breakfast was served. The house itself was attractively renovated and appointed with 19th & 20th century antiques. A great couples getaway.

The house is very pretty and the setting across from the lake is beautiful. We shared a bottle of wine sitting across from the lake and it was lovely. We stayed in the Colonial Room and it was okay -- the shower was decent and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was kind of small for a B&B, but was fine. In all, it was okay, but not noteworthy.

We came for a restful stay and that is just what we had. Lorrie prepared delicious and healthful breakfasts for us, beautifully plated, different each morning. She was attentive but gave us our space. We were free to linger in the sun porch after breakfast which we contentedly did, looking out toward the lake and “ watching the zinnias grow”. When I mentioned taking a kayak out, Rick offered to get it in the water for me, realizing I would have concerns about doing it myself. I particularly enjoyed having a good cup of coffee or tea at any time and did use the well stocked Keurig machine several times. We could use the refrigerator and microwave in the parlor, making us feel “ at home “. I recommend this place highly for elderly couples like my husband and I, and for families wanting a more active stay.

This popped up in my "Have you been to any of these places" and I have! Several times. It's a peaceful and relaxed setting - both inside the house and outside along the lake. The house has that comfortable, serene "antique feel", but it doesn't lack any modern amenities. WiFi in the house, a common TV room, and a couple of the rooms have their own. The local general store is just a 5 minute walk away if you need anything. But I found that the best way to enjoy this B&B is with a book on their front lawn, which faces the lake. Even in colder weather, the huge stone fireplace in the common room makes you actually happy that it's cold out. The innkeepers are lovely people and Lorrie makes an unbelievable breakfast. It's great for singles, families, or couples. They have optional services and activities for pretty much everyone.

We had a very short one night stay at Mariaville Lake Bed and breakfast but what a breath of fresh air.... It was like being at a resort... Though we arrived late in the evening, we had a comfortable sleep in a beautifuIly furnished room, enjoyed a morning kayak out on the lake, followed by a swim before the lovely breakfast that was served. We would have liked to stay longer but hope to be back.
